Your spacing is lacking.

Just keep playing the game and it will come to you.

That is all I should say for now.

For now, learn better combos and improve your consistency with them.

And don't forget to anti-air with 6A, lots of time you could punish his jumping attacks.

5d was poorly spaced in the corner sometime around 30 seconds, most players would punish you on recovery because it prevents you from cancelling the first hit into a dash.

5c counter was thrown away around one minute but that's just how things work, some people remember it links into 6c and others would just quickly throw the opponent off of them. (many scenarios)

CH GH on the first hit alone no matter how high the opponent is can combo into 5a/2a, 5b, 5c, or right about any of Ragna normals for very good damage at the start of round two. There's enough reaction time I don't think any Ragna should be missing this opportunity.

6c opportunity missed again around 1:30, Hakumen was caught in a crouched position in the corner. The second 6c after it was spaced poorly and whiffing the second hit of it is quite punishable.

Okay, I'm done watching. Ragna most damaging choices in my book comes from his 6c, it's meterless and carries really well. It can link really well after a few attacks but quite unsafe after 2c as I had to learn that one myself against a Tager. Hakumen has poor recovery on almost all of his C's and special attacks, they're punishable on instant block giving you a free 5b, 2b, and once in a while 5c or 2c, you can time it well to get him in his crouching state during the IB to work really well.

This Ragna needs more practice.

There is a whole lot I need to improve on. Your advice was very helpful though, Thank you Sadeyo! This was the insightful info that I was looking for.

First time playing EX, still need to get the game..

But anyway, i would like you guys to comment on my gameplay etc.

A lot of my combos weren't working..figured it was because of some being character specific? Especially those HF > 22C combos..can't seem to pull those off for some reason. Any tips?

(Me playing Jin @start, and me playing ragna against my bro @ 23:00)

Any comments on how i should play against Valk? Valk has always been a problem to me since CS. Just don't know how to fight against his superior mix up.

Also it's like they have added extra gravity to ragna, he feels really heavy and stiff from the jump of CS2 to EX.

Anyway i hope you guys enjoy. ;)

I noticed this was a CS2 video, but that doesn't really matter. Well, I don't really know how to word it other than this was just typical beginner stuff. "I got buttons, I'm gonna press em and stuff is gonna happen" The easiest way (although not the best way) to understand Ragna is A>B>C>D. The in game tutorial on Ragna would give you a nice start without going over every little detail.

Learn to space with 5B, and try to end blockstrings either with a 2D or Dead Spike from afar. better to end with 2D since people can jump over Dead Spike. Once you learn what moves cancel into others both your blockstrings and combos will become better.

Try not to use Hell's Fang on its own. It looks like a good move to approach with since it travels across the screen, but if its blocked, your opponent will be able to attack before you, but you will be able to block. if you choose to use the followup to Hell's Fang up, you take a primer (In CS:EX it doesnt take a primer anymore), but you wont be able to block and you gave a free combo to your opponent and lost momentum.

I wasn't mashing I promise. lol. I already checked out the tutorial, and I can do the challenge combos up to mission #6. I just get lost in the match so maybe it looks like I'm mashing. I despise mashing. lol. I'll never go back. I do use 5B for spacing, or at least I try to. When 5B hits I always finish with Hell's fang to get them in the corner. If I saw the video I would think I were mashing as well. Hmm? I'll try to keep my composure and not throw out random stuff and see how I'll do. I'll upload another video. Thanks for your reply, I'll make sure I use what you said.

That was pretty dope man. I have a LONG way to go before I can call myself "subpar", but I'm looking forward to it. lol.

Thanks, lol. I have some other match videos, and if you're interested in watching them, I can PM them to you or something.

Sure, that sounds great. I wanna learn as much as possible, so I would appreciate that.
