Today I smacked an icecar with 5B and didn't get hit with the car. Is that unusual? Super lucky timing? I wish I had a friend to just icecar a million times to try to replicate the timing.

You can do that in training mode. Press the left joystick in (L3?) to start recording for your opponent and you can make a dummy icecar at you over and over again.

If he sekkajin's (mash C), you can barrier him out and do a CH 5D combo. Air to air, I dunno. His j.B is pretty gdlk.

Gah. I'll remember that. During all my Jin matchups today I was doing trial and error with all different kinds of moves and kept getting CH out of them. On an off note, why do all Jin players hit my body after they win?

i found out that noel's 3C goes under Jin's slow upper cut (dont know the combination) which makes them both miss, but noel can attack before jin recovers. also, noel's 6B also goes throught jin's upper cut at some point and they both miss.

played some intense matches with kidviper today, i would like to note that 214D RC 6C works reasonably well on him, i dropped a combo and landed the 214D RC 6C and it won me the match, phew. Super close. How are you guys approaching downed opponents? i find 2B 6C 2C (confirm into 3C 22C on crouch) works well, or if they dont tech do 2B 6C 2369C if they tech and the 2b whiffs you have time to 5A them, if they block, pressure and mixups/frametraps! if they eat it go confirm it!

Jin is by far, the easiest character to 214D RC 6C in my experience. My issue is the supers out of tech rolls. IE: 623A or 214C out of backroll, because in this game specials cancel you out of rolls. :vbang: I haven't tested it, but does 2B whiff on Ice Car?

6B works really well for me. i do 2D and mix ups afterwards. anyone know any good mixups with drives?

You can combo after 6B if it hits.

Drives are about frametraps for the most part. Usually, 214D beats dragon punches (sometimes you need to "slow down" and do a 5A whiff -> 214D vs Jin, because 623C is so damn slow), 28D beats him if he tries to jab you out of a drive (as well as various more reliable frame traps, but 28D works on everything... although its a bit unsafe)

Er, block? She doesn't really have any other options unless you have 50 heat and want to CA or gamble on a reversal super.

Neutral tech at the same time as his 5B. If you time it right, you'll end with a frame advantage. If he's waiting for you to neutral tech, then you can just quick rise. Once I've learned how to switch up between quick-rise and neutral tech, my wakeup has gotten a lot better.

wtf. and also, dragon, quick rise isnt fast enough imo. if i see you about to quick rise i can just 5b you on reaction.

No one is superhuman SKD: basic psychological facts will always apply.

Its harder to react to a mixup than it is to react to consistency. Even if your opponent can react to quick rise, it is unlikely that he can react to a quick rise, neutral tech, and rolls correctly at the same time. And even if he can, it will take significantly more focus to do so.

Knockdown puts you at a disadvantage, but always neutral techning will also put you at a greater disadvantage. Quick rise to surprise your opponent occasionally, force him to react to you, keep his Oki honest instead of braindead.

Only thing I hate about this matchup is his j.B (I think, whatever attack it is where he attacks with his cape) I can never seem to AA that attack correctly... always seems to get me CH. I also like to show off by dodging ice swords with 5d and 4d. :p

3C is most practical.

I like showing off with 5D counter-hit on the 632146C super-freeze.

question about wakeup vs jin im getting totally destroyed on wakeup vs jin what is the best way to recover against jin? i assume that neutral recover and block but there is a mix of overheads and 2A what can i do in either situation or if there are any reversals that i can pull if i know they will be aggressive
