suru Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Ky should be double launched if you're starting from the ground, because he's a chubby bastard. If you AA him he's cake. I-no is standard loop.
THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 Shut up Raul i said i struggle with them that doesnt mean i cant  Also are you plannin on pickin up ABA also or you just thought that the AV looked cool? *SDV*
moonlessnite480 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I'm picking her up as my main in slash when I get it. Yuppers... I was only teasin...I just play mike too much. That's why I can dust loop ky so easily.
THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 I know man, i wasnt serious. We got a ky player now so hopefully i wont be losin that match up as much as i used too. I plannin on pickin up ABA and take my faust to the next level(good but not safe) and still run Baiken as my anchor. *SDV*
moonlessnite480 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I dunno about baiken...reload has been one hell of a bad experience...depending on how fast I can learn A.B.A., I'll resume playing with baiken. I played the hell out of Isuka so I should be alright with A.B.A. as far as slash is concerned. *aiming to become the best A.B.A. the US. ^_~* EDIT: I'm a specialist so I try not to play too many other secondary characters. That's why I'm sort of confused with who I want as my main next game. To keep this on topic: I'd say the best way to approach May (purely out of my own mind here) would be to zone her and keep her at a safe distance from your face. Far slash, 2s and 6k I assume would be your best friends in that matchup. Look for OHK and avoid too many backdash Tatami's.
rtl42 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 hmmm how useful is 6P in beating out dolphins? and what do you guys do when she goes for a vert. dolphin cross-up? Block? 6P? Mawarikomi?
Oyo Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I'm going to be playing against Alex G tomorrow and need some good advice for playing against Dizzy. I've played him once before I only won a single round out of luck/a fluke. I've improved considerably since then but I still have never had good competition and have to learn from match vids, training mode, and playing against my roommate. I've seen in vids that I should probably rush her down completely so that she can't get any fish out or start her lockdown. Last time I played I was usually locked down most of the match and couldn't get anything off. What is the best way to rush Dizzy down? What block strings shold I use, etc? 23696K seems like a good way to get in and kill fish, but also could be dangerous. I'd appreciate any help, my roommate only can play Zappa and Testament, so I don't get any practice against Dizzy or other characters :/
moonlessnite480 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I have yet to play Alex G or a dizzy either. My spring break was a week off, if it had been this coming week I would have come down with mike and charles. I don't know what is effective against dizzy. Just play your ass off. Good luck.
THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 Ive only played Alex G once and he broke me off before i could figure anythin out.<_< Any advice vs. Zappa and Chipp? Ive never played a good zappa and Chipp just breaks me the hell off:annoy: *SDV*
HmR.kS Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I have problems with Chipp too. Guard cancels don't seem to work on him (For me, at least) since he's so fast he easily got out of the way (Or am I too slow? )
Urzakor Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 in #R the dolphin comes out way too fast to 6p on reaction... the best bet for beating out dolphin with 6p is if u IB the last hit in a groundstring right and 6p the dolphin from that. even then the timing is iffy and thats assuming u know which string that may's gunna do. i think its easier to just block and force may to burn 25% to stay safe.
moonlessnite480 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Chipp...I dunno...guard cancels limits how far he can go with rushdowns. If you manage to get your hands on him he's pretty much dead. It's a favorable matchup to baiken. (reads off that chart kairi posted) Making assumptions here haha.
Aderael Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 yeah i was about to say the same thing =) chipp can be a pain in the ass, speed and teleports but "If you manage to get your hands on him he's pretty much dead" lol =). about may dolphins, just do P counter and grab or mix 2k,5s or 5p,2k but be ready if it's a frc dolphin
moonlessnite480 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Yeah I mean the game isn't the type to where you'll never have a chance to hurt the man. It's not as bad as it sounds at all. I'm guessing the right thing to say would be you just have to know how to break his game down and strike hard. (?) (the cool thing to say?)
THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 hmmm how useful is 6P in beating out dolphins? and what do you guys do when she goes for a vert. dolphin cross-up? Block? 6P? Mawarikomi? Ive always IB'd it an then nail her as she comes down. So nobody has experience vs zappa? *SDV*
Urzakor Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 don't let Raoh come out and your fine. zappa isn't tough at all.
THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 Yay for sticky so what do you do once you get hit by a ghost and can baiken counter dog corner ish? *SDV*
Oyo Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 If zappa moves the dog around and thinks you can't hit it, throw your chain at it and it will kill the dog after he moves it around.
Doren2k Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Oh and Baiken vs. Jam is in Jams favor but. Baikens 6K beats like every single one of Jams pokes or it'll trade in which case Jam is fuckin staggered and its gay. Thats all!
suru Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 6k is slow, parry that shit :P Baiken vs. Jam is massively in Jam's favor. Arcadia had it at like 6-14 IIRC, making it one of the worst matchups in the game. I don't always understand their rankings, but from the Jams I've played I think I understand this one.
Doren2k Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I played against a good bacon the other day and that move is great. It might be slow but if you try to throw any move at Baiken 6K beats it all of Jams pokes every single one! Thats the only problem i can see Jam having against Baiken but once Jam gets in its over but 6K is gay.
IllogicalDreamr Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Yeah. 6K is a good move. I didn't use it that much, but I started to use it more often against my friends May and it works quite often on wake up. Follow it up with the Kabari/Tetsuzansen.
Aderael Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 6K is one of the best moves especially for CH traps, the follow up is Kabari even if it's not CH but i don't think it's good to do Tetsuzansen, it's better to run and 5p,5s,5h,tatami,...
Zakuta Asura Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 6K always gets followed up by H-Tatami for me. The damage is high and it almost guarantees a burst, of which you can bait out and follow on.
IllogicalDreamr Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 6K always gets followed up by H-Tatami for me. The damage is high and it almost guarantees a burst, of which you can bait out and follow on. Another way I bait burst is when I get a throw in the corner. I do 2D and they usually go for the burst after that, and then they're right back where they started.
