Mucchi noted that you want to go for 3C off fast starters for knockdown. - 4D fatal counters now - Damage output is higher apparently So far, JP player impressions of Carl have been very positive. So im going to give a quick run down of some unlisted changes that have been scaring me. Judging from the yellow exclamation mark, @27m50s, when Carl does the UB reset, once paused, you can see a block animation and the yellow symbol. Both are indications that the JB was blocked, but the opponent was hit by 3D. That 3.3k combo was from a 3D, AN ADA STARTER. With the system nerfs that force all characters to have less hitstun combined with the fact that, if, Ada starters were still S starters then doing that long combo for 3.3k would not be possible. Maybe not all of Ada starters are N starters, but 3D currently is. Since 3D is a normal starter, the UB loop mentioned in the CP thread involving Anima is now possible. Call me over zealous, but Jb+3D>5b>2b>5c>6B>Anima>j2c-allecan>5b>2b>5c>6B>6a>2D>IAD>ja>ja>jb>j2c>Jaa>JB+3D would definitely be possible. And here is where things get interesting, if Carl wanted to opt for an Ada meter friendly combo. JB+3D>6c>CT>2a>5a>2a>5a>5b>2b>5c>6b>6a>2D. Also, I feel it should be noted that the 3.3k was the dmg WITHOUT active flow. This ladies and gents, is game breaking news. UB LOOP IS BACK!!!!! +3D is a N starter +Ja>j2c fuzzy is still possible +UB loop possible +CT forces standing +6C>CT connects ~Akira-Shiro

sinder Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Whoa, whoa, whoa wait a minute I logged in just because of that vid: -we get a midscreen wall bounce? -can now launch without Ada/rapid cancel midscreen and still combo??? -stupid 6D slide is going, plus they removed SMP nonsense giving us our CT loops back??? -Brio is back to what it used to be???? Was planning on skipping CF but wow, now I'm interested Now the slower 6B makes sense. Carl looking to be A tier once again

Here is a video of Mizuki and Ryuusei (lol) Would say good to see Ryuusei back, but he is clearly tier whoring -__-. However his combos are the most optimal i've seen so there's no doubt he is going to be a threat with Carl this go round so i'm eager to follow him Carl has been seen as a possible top tier again. Changes not mentioned yet: -Tenerezza has fatal properties -Anima is faster and actually usable outside of the vicace crossup -Looks like Rhapsody of memories is faster as well -2C jump cancelable on hit, bringing back solo midscreen combos that don't end with cantabile --- Carl looks incredibly strong, especially in the corner now. The new bear claw move looks like it will be his best oki tool, it beats dps and can catch opponents who try to jump out Ada loses meter faster but also gains it back faster. OD also doesn't have her recover at a quick rate anymore, but that would be over kill if it did. This is definitely my favorite version of Carl since CS extend
Niko Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I really hated a lot of the arbitrary changes in BBCPEX, but the new Carl is shaping up to look super fun again. Any news if 2D is actually usable again? Actually, is there a comprehensive list of the final Carl changes in BBCF, now that the game's been out in the wild for a bit?

I was making stuff up in training mode, would this still work in CF? With Nirvana behind you 5B>6B>Tenerezza>236A (opponent is sandwiched now)>dash>5B>6B>cantable>stuff Hopefully it's still useful because I love vacuum moves.

Tenerezza is still very useful in CF for neutral (neutral poke with super armor) and it's probably still usable for combos.
