The list would be far longer than the combo list. Something we do need is a list of moves that sledge goes though, like ragna's 214D hahaha.

I was playing around in Training Mode for a few hours today, and here is what I found out:

Astral Heat can be backdash-buffered if you're fast enough... or if you play Mario Party. :vbang:

Also, holding A+B+C along with a backwards direction allows you to barrier block while buffering your Ds. Just keep mashing D and let go of 1, 4, or 7 when you're ready (after at least 5 Ds).

With this in mind, you could theoretically barrier block the first few hits of a combo with 1/4/7A+B+C, instant block some if you want to gain more meter, and let the move loose when you see an opening, letting the :TG: HUGE :TG: magnetism suck them in for the win.

Also, the Astral functions as an unblockable, not a throw, so it can hit airborne opponents.

Must get over 100 press's in 10 seconds to get the prize :psyduck:

But if its airunblockable does that mean we could.... collider, B-sledge, A-sledge(whiff), AH, and catch the tech regardless of whether they hold up or not, incase you didn't know you can totally bait the 720 by neutral teching and holding up, of course you can just collider but thats the mixup, if this makes it a 100% chance then it would be p. cool.

I haven't attempted any resets, but I'll check ASAP. If so, my favorite tech-trap just got a lot better. Just don't be disappointed if it doesn't work, because the move is so slow.

i can make that list easily, dare me to?:psyduck:

nope, because you would have to hold down a+b+c while mashing D, so you either couldn't do the sledge or you would rapid cancel out of it.

Not quite; if you start to hold A+B+C quickly enough, like during the move's startup, it won't register as a Rapid Cancel.

Ya can't rapid cancel a move that whiffs buddy.'

and like said above you could press it before the move connects either on block or hit.

thats why mike z is declared a god or a godlike being...no tager makes life more interesting than mike z's.

Mike Z is one of the most notable names in the BB competitive community, and he plays statistically the worst character--and gets ranks like no one else. That's why he's awesome.

I know I probably sound noobish but did you guys know about the magnatech wheel - rapid cancel - into a 360?

Wow, now I see why a friend of mine got rehabilitated after his experience with the power of science

I'm starting to like tager even more now. I didn't really know what he could do, and I loved fighting tagers, lol although they probably wouldn't say the same for me. There's just something about the way people use him that makes me smile :keke:

Yeah it's pretty gimmicky though. When it was new it was good for a surprise though. I guess it's still good for that if you have a player unfamiliar with Tager shenanigans. It is of course techable, but there's other stuff you can do from there too.

yeah...it is, best win ever for me was tech-wheel RC into 5b on #1 jin..best win ever LOL.

Say, there is something else I wanted to ask... I've been practicing doing Perfect Blocks, however, I can never seem to get that 720 off... Also, let's say I'm in the middle of Jin's multiple hit move, how do I get a 720 while blocking that? Whenever I try, I think I might not be fast enough cause I do it too slow to the point where Tager stops autoblocking. Anyhow, I know I suck XD But can someone help me? To be honest, I mostly combo with Tager and am quite good at it, I try to trick the player with overhead moves, unders, sledging after 2D or other methods and such, though, I could use alot of improvement...

only need to punish moves with a large wiff like ice car's and AA's... you need to do the 720 well to be more accurate if your blocking then you can start buffering any direction, it wouldn't matter, it takes time though just keep practicing, if you can do it once you can do it again, drill it into your skull and you will eventually master 720. of if your IBing then you need to IB the last hit of the string to 720 or else you drop your guard and eat damage...lots of capitalist damage.

Posted

Actually no for jins string its a solid block string as long as you don't IB, so make sure you arn't IBing 4123698(741-one of these will IB), 9C, just don't forget to shortcut the input sometimes I do it at the wrong time and I don't get an IB but whateves not like anything happens if you mess it up in that manner.

Got it... I'll keep practicing... Also, that would explain it... When I'm in the middle of that multiple hit attack, I do IB because I thought you were suppose to. Got it, I'll stop instant blocking when he does that. The reason I started to do it was because I've seen the video with, I believe it was, Mike Z. whom instant blocked and buffered into a 720 from it. Anyhow, I'm a bit stiff when working with Command Grabs and seem to screw em up during the middle of a fight, and I become so undecided on when I should do them or if I should do them.

Yeah you can do that, its just really hard I would suggest during a multihit attack like that blocking a hit normally starting buffering the 720, IB during the 720 motion and then 720, well thats what I said earlier you can do it without doing this but its harder im not sure which way mikeZ did it.

kind of off topic but something literally useless that I found funny is that you can buffer a 720 by pressing select in training mode. kind of interesting that the game doesnt reset the input. sadly you arent even going to hit the training opponent this way because they start too far away. :yaaay:

Posted

Say, I'm not sure if this is a Tech Trap or anything... When I do Atomic Collidor (Opponent magnetized), can I buffer into the 720 and actually get them into it somehow? How do I do it?

Posted

yes you can, but against smart opponents its kind of difficult if not down right impossible to actually get them to drop properly. I recommend practicing it off of a spark bolt > 5C > 6A > Atomic collider Reset on the training dummy set to Neutral tech to practice. When the dummy gets popped back up in the air off of 6A, hold Atomic Collider (so it techs) and as its coming down let go of atomic collider BEFORE (this is important) they actually reach the Collider to prevent the collider from actually hitting, the closer the better. Start buffering 720 a little bit before you let go of AC. If done correctly the dummy will sort of drift in the area directly in front of you and by the time they hit the ground, your 720 buffer should be done and away they go for massive Soviet damage. The reason why its down right impossible to get it done properly against smart opponent since the whole thing is dependent on when your opponent techs, which most people will not tech at all against this. Also during the drift downwards, your opponent can ruin the whole thing with a simple 5A. Easier and better to just let Atomic Collider hit (regardless if they tech or not). Its guaranteed damage either way and if they tech, resets the combo gauge and can put you into a more favorable situation for a 720. 720 is the ultimate tech trap, wish it was a little more than that but the jump startups counting as part of the jump itself, prevents it from being more than that. and for the SFIV players in here, learn Tager in BB and go rape with Gief in SFIV
