Justice7541 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Pretty much the only one Tager has is: ...5D xx B Sledge... A x n360 A720B/2B But, in the future, please use the General Discussion thread for stuff like this. 5D > B Sledge is really easy to react to. As a Bang player, I usually just Daifunka or guardpoint the B Sledge, since there are a few frames between the 5D and the Sledge even if you don't IB. Any character can easily reversal out on reaction.

The key is to mix things up and be unpredictable.
Isorropia Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I do loves me some tic throws...too bad 360B loses to people mashing A. >.<
Tofu Warrior Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 What if any pressure string is good to try to mix in 360s(a or b) if any? 5A, 2A and 2B leave Tager at a frame advantage, so it's good to mix in some 360s after these pokes. My favourite string is 5A > 2B, 5A; the second 5A is a guaranteed CH if your opponent tries to stick out a normal move. Everyone blocks after hearing "Counter!" because they don't want to attack when they're at a disadvantage. This is where you throw them. You can get creative and mix it up. You mentioned you like doing 2A, 2B xx A-Sledge which is fairly safe, I like it too; 2A > 2B is a true string, so they can't DP in between the hits, and A-Sledge is only -2 on block. However, it's -7 on block if they IB, so they will beat anything you stick out, other than GETB or MTW.

The key is to mix things up and be unpredictable. I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just saying it's not the best idea to rely on it as a blockstring because it's easy to react to the B sledge with a reversal whenever you see it. Anything > B Sledge is my reversal cue, I don't think he has anything that can make B sledge safe on startup.

A.X.I.S. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Thats when I whiff A sledge and 720 and spin you right round round. J.C cross-up into 720. they screaming.
ShinsoBEAM Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 J.C cross-up into 720. they screaming. People's cancel cross up into 720 is still my fav though.
A.X.I.S. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 People's cancel cross up into 720 is still my fav though. CA into 720 is my favorite because they neutral right into that shit, ok thats my second favorite. my favorite is blocked 5A into 360B, if you time it just right they can't react and no !! on it, free hurt for them and a assload of heat to me.

Neutral teching and not jumping is always good news for Tager. Everyone I play against always jumps their ass off after a neutral tech. So I'm more used to just 623C after I get knockdown and they neutral tech. And if they don't, then I get the ever dreaded Collider>720 setup. 5A 5B..720D~C is my current favorite. Leapfrog 6A jump over 720 or 6C jump over 720 are my favorite BS tactics.
Brother Mojo Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 How does the neutral tech jump work anyway? When I'm playing Tager mirrors, if they set up for a 720 and I neutral tech, I just get thrown, despite my holding up, mashing up, or anything like that. One of my friends says he (as Hakumen) mashes superjumps to get out of it, and I've seen people down tech into jump before to avoid a throw. What's the actual command to jump and escape the throw after a neutral tech? Or is it some timing issue I'm running into?

Skye Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Hydrogyn (however your name is spelled) man, what happened, we normally run on par with each other, but I found myself tearing you apart. Bad day, or just experimenting, I noticed you attempted a lot of psychic colliders?
ShinsoBEAM Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 neutral tech while holding up is 100% invulnerable to being tossed, I believe down tech then hold up will also work but I think it requires you to throw break the grab. If they are doing the pull down with collider and you are getting grabbed then just don't tech before you hit the ground, or tech earlier and j.2C heh. Hydrogyn (however your name is spelled) man, what happened, we normally run on par with each other, but I found myself tearing you apart. Bad day, or just experimenting, I noticed you attempted a lot of psychic colliders? Same thing when I last played him though I have no idea which one of the 4 accounts I played on it was. I think he was testing things though thats what it seemed like to me.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 YK_kof Showed us all an amazing Tager @ SBIV. Are there videos of this? He placed really well, I want to see this guy in action.
Leo7 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Yea, yk_kof was awesome. I watched the stream when yk_kof was on. He played some casuals against the random Arakune that made it to Top 8 and stomped the guy. He even got one match off of stunedge too. I do hope the vids show up on youtube or something, because I want to rewatch.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Leo7, we haven't played in ages. Are you on my friend's list?
Leo7 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Nope. Just added you. I'm sure you're better than me now Tofu, haven't been playing a lot lately.
Coinage Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hey i got a question. when youget knocked down with tager. if you do not tech out and wait for him to get up. Will he have invincibility when he gets up because I did this once and my friend atacked me and miss and i countered with my super
Mike Z Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 When you do nothing, it is the same as a Down tech (2+button)...and therefore you are throw invincible, not strike invincible, and can interrupt with any move after frame 8 or so.
rei-Scarred Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I have just discovered the one reason my Tager is still plain awful. I don't know when to backdash and therefore never use it. Any suggestions?
A.X.I.S. Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 IAD rushes. slow moves in block strings. against some projectiles. times when you can back dash there you go rei.
DoomieJ Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I have just discovered the one reason my Tager is still plain awful. I don't know when to backdash and therefore never use it. Any suggestions? after an IB to get out of pressure. after being "iced" baiting bursts create space when you are getting raped
