It's extremely unlikely That Which is Inherited is non-canon, and much MUCH more likely to be one of very many translation errors.

Either way, neither may be the case.

Nine explicitly says that Relius is using magic before they fight and calls him out on it.

Fair enough then. This confirms that Relius retains the ability to use magic.

I doubt that. Relius clearly makes it sound as if he had never seen magic before in That Which Is Inherited. I don't see how such a clear statement can be the result of a mistranslation. I think it's much more probable that Relius simply wanted to conceal the fact that he can use magic himself from others. This fits perfectly with what he says to Kokonoe.

Just a few thoughts.

Valkenhayn is mentioned to exist outside of the world's "logic" or "kotowari." He himself confirms this. With that in mind, is it safe to assume that he crossed over from Naoto's world--a place that might very well exist outside of the kotowari as well--at some point, based on the details we're given? If this proves true then it goes without saying that Naoto's existence defies the kotowari just like Valk, and possibly Relius Clover. I wonder what implications this might have for the plot and--based on his and Rachel Alucard's dialogue--Ragna and Rachel's mysterious origins. Act 2, or at least 3, better wrap this up, as it poses more questions than I answers, in my opinion. Can't wait to see what's in store.

Valkenhayn's race, the lycanthropes, were made from a magic-like technique (魔術的) which is why he exists out of logic - his race isn't natural per se.

Given that Relius and Valkenhayn both recognise Naoto, I'd say it's basically outright confirmed that his "world" is the past. Relius also mentions something about Clavis deteriorating so quickly. What Relius is getting at is that Clavis went from a powerful man to a crippled old vampire pretty quickly, and that soft-confirms that the two are the same person which would mean that the BB Rel, Valks, and Clavis are the same ones from BE. Pretty unlikely that all three got taken from the BE world and then displaced in the BB one, but this is Mori's story we're talking about here...

tldr; Naoto's "world" is just the past.

You know...I really wanted to believe that the "world" they were referring to is simply "the past" used metaphorically, as most of us have theorized since Bloodedge Experience came out, but that would make too much sense. lol

It's highly likely that's all there is to it, though. This also implies Naoto is a Chronophantasma.

I probably missed something but why is Trinity's ghost appearing behind Jin in certain match-up intros? I saw her appearing in the Jin vs Plat match-up but maybe it's one of his generic intros.

There hasn't been any indication as to why, but it is a thing. The only scripted intro with Trinity in it seems to be the one with Platinum, which is the only one where she's speaking. Trinity only otherwise appears sometimes during Jin's generic intros, and doesn't say anything.

So, thanks to subtitles I think I can understand how Terumi survived getting time killed. He's basically observing himself at the moment, but can only maintain his existence for so long right?

The time-killer seems to have been completely useless, unless this whole embryo thing is what got around it.
But yeah, that seems to be it. After Trinity made Hazama and Terumi to get separated, Terumi is using self-observation to exist inside the embryo.
And after the tuning of Terumi, he have at least one week's time for him to merge with Hazama again.

Wow, so it just pretty invalidated that entire sequence...

So Hakumen's great speech and special Time Killer move were all for nothing, and that means Trinity had to be shanked for nothing too. Good.

Well Trinity's not quite dead, but since she's currently sharing an existence with Major Brotherfucker in his CT-era state of mind I'm sure she wishes she was.

That's incorrect, Jin is immune to the effects of the embryo due to his Power of Order so he's pretty much just as he was in CP.

The Power of Order is some bullshit lol.

I'm starting to wonder tho if CF is being told In Media Res; unlike the last three games, this one doesn't pick up right where the last one left off and there was no transition either. Like, how Jin even walking after his state at the end of CP, wasn't he in critical condition?

Something seems to have happened after CP, and based on Rachel's dialog with Amane, he is probably one of the few who knows what had happened.
But some time must have past, but the date in the arcade ends doesn't help since it's only says AD2199/XX/XX which can't be right.

There are also this thing with who told Ragna to head towards the cauldron in the first place.

Hopefully this all will make more sense once the home console version is out and we can see how the Story Mode is.

I know that some players might not like that all of this seems to take place inside the mysterious Embyro, and not in the "real" world of BB, but I'm really excited about it, it makes me feel like there are many interesting possibilities.

With the Embryo still active and since we know Nine is telling the people within that they need to go defeat and/or kill Izanami, I wager that Act 2 is where the Embryo is removed from the equation. That way Act 3 is set up for the "truth" that Nine spoke of that follows Izanami's defeat.

That being said, what that truth actually is may not necessarily be a good thing.

Noel and Kagura look pretty bad here, wonder what happened.

Azrael may have allied with izanami considering his response. Also could that black sphere be the embryo or the black beast.

Could be yet another Ragna-class attack what with Saya seemingly taking more center stage in Act 2. Plus isn't Act 2 named "Nightmare Memory"? The nightmare part might refer to him again since back in CS Mu-12 calls him the "World's Nightmare" so it might be that once more, Ragna's grimoire goes haywire and he starts wrecking people's day. There's even that Ragna vs. Jin image we saw in the CF trailer so it is possible.

Look at that dental work. Azrael proves to everybody that just because you make a living knocking them down the throats of others, that doesn't mean to neglect your own :v:.

On the image itself: I don't think he's allying with Izanami necessarily. Based on his response it could very well be that he might have taken Nine's idea to heart and sets out to get Ragna Black Beastified. You'll also notice that unlike the other characters who were shown in the Act 2 trailer, he's crushing that Azure shard in his hand as opposed to holding it. That might be important somewhere down the line.

I think that that is all the work of Hibiki, those black feathers of a raven remind me that during his special and in his artwork, watching his arcade end might be possible.

Tager also seems to be stained with blood.

ps: sorry for my bad english
