lime93 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) I think if you are good with Litchi you got my respek cause I have tried many times to play with her and I can't do it. She can do a lot of damage but her combos aren't super easy like Hazama, Bang, Ragna, or Lambda. You need timing spacing and execution to play her so I don't hate her as much as other people do. To clarify on my post about her normals (6B, 5C, 3C), my point just was they aren't spammable, you still need to time them right. But they are by all means above average normals.

CT Litchi was much harder, she was more character specific than "Just delay the timing on Hatsu" or "Just Barrier then do 2C[m]" in CT everything was much harder, Ippatsu combos for sure. She couldn't pressure as well so it was hard to keep lock down on DP characters, her Oki wasn't as strong so it was more of a guessing game than just straight owning. She took a lot more skill in CT than she does in CS. Not saying CS Litchi isn't kinda hard, but CT was definitely harder.

Her pressure game is average at best with stick. 5B[m] is her only reliable jump cancellable move in that stance. She pressures better staffless but she sacrifices a lot of her range, and she becomes vulnerable to being pressured as she has no reversal moves staffless. She can zone ok but nowhere near as good as some of the better zoners in the game. Her normals, while good in range, actually come out quite slow. You can't just be throwing out 6B, 3C or 5C for instance without getting IAD'd. Oh wait, you're totally right. Litchi is shit. What was I thinking? Also, how does IAD'ing her normals a problem exclusively to Litchi? Bang, Hazama, Hakumen and every other character many moves that can be punished, many of them by IAD. You act like just because Litchi's attacks aren't omnipotent, that means they're terrible. And lol at lack of staffless DP. Bang only has a 50% reversal. Hazama only has a 50% reversal. Hakumen has no reversal, only counters Taokaka, 50% heat. Arakune, 50% heat. Valkenhayn, 50% heat. Tsubaki might as well not have a reversal. Jin has terrible non-heat reversals. Tager has 50% reversal. I could go on. The point is, Litchi is lucky to actually have a DP (and a great one it is at that), even if it's with the staff. And you act like "oh, 5B is Litchi's only reliable jump cancel move from a distence", Litchi is amazing to actually hit at that distence at all. The range of her staff attacks far surpass anything most characters have. Besides, most of what I said was just exaggerated to make Bang look bad. Just a short note, a decent litchi in cs does not let her opponent escape the corner. And all that is, is combo - daisherin x n. Not hard, pretty flowcharty. Whereas CT litch delayed shit, changed shit, was terrible in many aspects, oki was pretty good but o.d predictable etc. l DID sub her fyi. to each's own l guess.
