Sadeyo Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 A member of DL for roughly two months and I finally find this thread. Bout time. Onto what I want to say is that I been to Arcade UFO a few times (twice only). I want to frequently visit more since the place is like a 20 minute drive from where I'm currently at. Annoyingly I like to go there to win but being handicapped; not knowing how to use an Arcade Stick put me at one hell of a disadvantage it feels like I go there to humiliate myself. Under the impression of buying my own arcade stick so I can fight competitively with the rest of you after some practice with a few titles that caught my interest (look at signature). *Ah, during my visit while looking over CS seems like I keep meeting this Jin player that is also apart of DL. I feel guilty for forgetting their name and username here. I'll probably swing by later this week on a Sat. around 8.*
TOKiMONSTA Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Jin player? ... Pozerwolf? :s Pozer doesn't play Jin. LOL.
furix Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Oh that's true. I remember him telling me that Jin was all funky in CS or w/e. I don't know, I don't know that game!
CrimsonDisaster Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Sup bitches. You better not be back this coming week because I will be out of town. Be back the week after and everything will be okay.
Sadeyo Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 My weekend was flooded so I couldn't make it to the arcade. I'll see if I can make it next week so we could all stop guessing who this Jin player is. Any other new faces who I'll eventually see...sup.
TOKiMONSTA Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Nobody is guessing, there is only one guy that consistently plays Jin at the arcade.
redsilversnake Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Nobody is guessing, there is only one guy that consistently plays Jin at the arcade. Does he consistently get 20+ win streaks?
TOKiMONSTA Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Does he consistently get 20+ win streaks? lol no.
Sadeyo Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I saw a bad Ragna with 11 wins. Basically all they did for victory was 5b 5c 5d dash cancel 6a j*5d 5c BE and 5d <--repeat till win. Too bad I couldn't show them up with a great mix-up game since I couldn't use the stick. Lolz, I was almost tempted to buy my own at Gamestop instead of waiting for the online delivery. Adjusting from CT to CS shouldn't be too difficult...I think.

"yeah I saw this guy win, he did a combo, but I would show him my GREAT MIXUP if I knew how to use a stick" You aren't allowed to call anybody a bad player when you're a scrub who can't even use stick well enough to do BB mixups (which are like the easiest mixups to do, ever). Maybe if you could actually win games, you could call people bad. But you can't because you're a scrub. Nobody cares if you don't know how to use a stick when you're at an ARCADE. Learn stick, it's not like you couldn't just put 50c into Guilty Gear or 3S or something to practice stick while you waited. Oh wait, you're just a BB scrub who can't execute in BB, my bad, maybe you should have put 50c into SF4 to practice stick with a game that's on your execution level, since even BB is too hard for you on stick. Yo, prove me wrong if you aren't a scrub. I will be glad to take my words back. But chances are you are not the Latif of BB.

Oh yeah, next Arcade UFO tourny: http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=228951&p=8548080#post8548080 I dunno about high level, as that's Ragna's basic CS combo. Anyways, yay! A tournament I can finally attend!

I'm clearly a scrub when it comes to the stick but I can say otherwise with a PS3 controller. Yeah yeah, maybe it's time to walk the walk instead of talk the talk. Just talk to a few PSN friends who can recommend an arcade stick purchase somewhere.(Please provide link if possible. I want to learn this and make my friend here take his comment back)
PozerWolf Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 lol, gotta agree with CrimsonDisaster on this one. I remember Latif coming up using stick, he didn't do half bad on a stick compared to how he played on Pad. Hell even when I was new to stick, it was not so bad. Sure there are things here and there I could not do, but in the end I got the job done. Sadeyo, I highly doubt your skills on a control for making such statements. If you really want to "talk the talk", it can easily be settled. We normally have random sessions at my place ever weekend seeing as how I live very close to the Arcade. If you want, you can bring your copy of BlazBlue CT and you can show us if your good or not. I dunno about high level, as that's Ragna's basic CS combo Sounds like a high level Ranga to me ;p
CrimsonDisaster Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 HE ONLY DID A BNB HE CAN'T BE THAT GOOD OMG When I get back to Austin this weekend, I'm skipping all these new BB scrubs and playing GG.

I'm no prodigy at the game but I do have confidence that I can play outside the box some. Time and place and you bet I'll show up. >_>' Looking at the weekend to see myself available around 8 if no friend bothers me. Copy of game and maybe a controller too? Meeting place could possible be the arcade and you'll lead from there maybe? Redsilversnake, fun fighting you on psn.

When I get back to Austin this weekend, I'm skipping all these new BB scrubs and playing GG. You mean MELTY
redsilversnake Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Sounds like a high level Ranga to me ;p ...What you did there, I don't see it. I mean, I can pull off that combo, and I'm nowhere near high-level. When I get back to Austin this weekend, I'm skipping all these new BB scrubs and playing GG. I dunno if any of them'll show up this weekend, but I've seen at least four decent/good BB players. Hell, one of the Ragna players I fought last weekend seemed on par with pros I've seen videos of. console superstars get crushed at arcades so come and play and learn. it's not that hard to learn how to use a stick. i started fighting games less than 6 months ago, i learned at the arcade. *remembers early attempts at stick* I still suck at stick (can't consistently pull of 236236 or 214214 moves, for one thing, which sucks 'cause my CS sub is Hazama), but I'm definitely a lot better now that I've played on it more. So really, playing stick is pretty much like the games themselves: play more, practice more, and you'll get better.

My shift this weekend has me working on Friday and Saturday from 1 - 8pm. You can easily find me around those times wearing the green vest. Hit me up, and I can get you more info on the session. Not to mention, anyone else is invited to the sessions if you guys want in. Don't worry, it won't be BlazBlue CT only. I dunno if any of them'll show up this weekend, but I've seen at least four decent/good BB players. Hell, one of the Ragna players I fought last weekend seemed on par with pros I've seen videos of. CrimsonDisaster Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I CAN DO THIS COMBO SO ANYBODY ELSE WHO DOES IT CAN ONLY BE AS GOOD AS ME
