StardustStorm Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 He's even polite to Nu. The point I kinda wanted to make is that he called Rachel "Miss Rachel", which I found strange. They are physically the same age, yet he's calling her Miss. Unless he knows that she's older than she looks, this was either a translation error (lol I highly doubt that) or, for some reason, treats her like an adult. I would like to point out that even though Noel is (presumly) older than Carl, he calls her just Noel. Bang and Litchi is understandable since they are adults. About V-13. I found it a bit weird that Carl already knew that V-13 had a part of the Azure Grimoire in V-13's storyline but didn't seem to recongnize her at all in Carl's storyline. Anyone wanna explain why? I had thought Bang had respect for Hakumen(he doesn't know his real identity), and that Hakumen gained respect for him despite dissing him as Jin constantly. What I want to know is what Litcii took from the boundary...eternal youth? Power? Perhaps she discovered the "truth" and realizes that Arakune plays a crucial role in it? I remember in Bang's arcade mode he didn't really like Hakumen the first time around because he was disrespecting the six heroes (lol). I was kinda off in Lala land when this happened so I might be wrong.

I guess that it all comes down to his manners. I guess that the only reason that he calls Noel, simply Noel, is due to the fact that they know each other well from back in the days in the academy, so he just dropped the formality of calling her "Miss Noel". The same can be said about Jin, as he doesn't call him "Mr. Jin" either. One thing though, does he use their military ranks when he refers to both Noel and Jin, as in Lieutenant Vermillion and Major Kisaragi?
mAc Chaos Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Nu's story was apparently all just her having a dream in her tube or whatever she's floating in, so since Carl is just a figment of Nu's imagination, it would make sense that he knew about it. DREAM LOGIC

One thing though, does he use their military ranks when he refers to both Noel and Jin, as in Lieutenant Vermillion and Major Kisaragi? He calls Jin Cadet ("Long time no see, Cadet.") and says Noel when talking to Noel ("Pretty good, Noel." "Not bad, Noel." "Long time no see, Noel."). Again, I have yet to beat Noel and Jin's story line, so I have no idea how Carl acts in their story line (except for when Carl beats Noel in Noel's story). But I still think a kid calling another kid "Miss" is strange. The only time I saw that happen was in the DNAngel dub where Daisuke calls Risa "Miss Harada", the girl he was in love with. I believe he called Riku "Older miss Harada" or something... In the japanese dub, does Carl call Rachel "Rachel-san" or "Rachel-sama" (her clothes might of suggested that she's from a noble family so yeah)? Nu's story was apparently all just her having a dream in her tube or whatever she's floating in, so since Carl is just a figment of Nu's imagination, it would make sense that he knew about it. DREAM LOGIC She has dreams of Carl? That's hawt. Another one for Carl's harem. That makes the whole female cast now.

He uses military ranks, yet in the japanese dub he calls them "Kisaragi/Vermillion Senpai", a japanese honorific for upperclass people. He's polite to everyone, not just Rachel. Nu's story was apparently all just her having a dream in her tube or whatever she's floating in, so since Carl is just a figment of Nu's imagination, it would make sense that he knew about it. DREAM LOGIC She retains some memories from the past loops I guess, were everyone tries to kill her all the time.

He's polite to everyone, not just Rachel. But why so much respect for Rachel who's about the same age (physically) or possibly younger? Everyone else in the cast is older, which would make sense why he says Miss and Mr to them. EDIT: What? So the English dub translate Bang-sempai to Mr. Bang, but Vermillion Sempai as Noel...?
Irrsinn Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Because he doesn't know her, obviously you aren't going to act all casual and shit around someone who you've just met 5 seconds ago, especially Carl, being the "classy kid who uses a top hat and has moves named after beautiful music crap" guy. EDIT: What? So the English dub translate Bang-sempai to Mr. Bang, but Vermillion Sempai as Noel...? Everyone and their grandmothers know that translated dubs don't matter.
StardustStorm Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Because he doesn't know her... I guess that's true...The TIPS thing says he didn't know her too well. So he uses -san for her? ...obviously you aren't going to act all casual and shit around someone who you've just met 5 seconds ago, especially Carl, being the "classy kid who uses a top hat and has moves named after beautiful music crap". Everyone and their grandmothers know that translated dubs don't matter. So he would call someone younger than him Miss/Mr too? Oh wow...I think I like his classiness even more. I like dubs. But still, I found it odd why they found it more appropiate to drop the Mr and Miss for Jin/Noel.
Irrsinn Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Another honorific, yes. Anyways, this doesn't have much to do with the thread, wonder when will seipherzero upload the book. EDIT: And what "TIPS" thing? You mean "Teach me, Miss Litchi!"? that shit isn't relevant to the main plot at all.

EDIT: And what "TIPS" thing? You mean "Teach me, Miss Litchi!"? that shit isn't relevant to the main plot at all. Not canon, but it still has information that's worth noting. What seither is, the six heroes, ect. Take it with a grain of salt.
Irrsinn Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 It explains some of the mechanics of the Blazblue world, and nothing else.
Heroic_Legacy Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 *Carl takes off glasses* "Valkenhyn, bring me some tea!" That isn't canon?
StardustStorm Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 It explains some of the mechanics of the Blazblue world, and nothing else. It's pretty obvious that Jin and Ragna wouldn't stand one second without wanting to claw at each other's neck, but for the most part, every one was in character... *Carl takes off glasses* "Valkenhyn, bring me some tea!" That isn't canon? It's canon. Carl does good girl impressions.
steve0 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Carl refers to Bang as "Mister Bang" during Carl vs Bang matches. Just throwing this out there...
seipherzero Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Here's just a teaser of some of the character portraits that the Material Collection contains. As I'm typing this message, I'm 138/ 144 pages not including the covers. After I finish scanning, I'm gonna take a shower and get the files ready to be uploaded. I'll try to upload them tonight, but if not, it will have to wait until I get home from work tomorrow.
Felicia Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Ooh that Hakumen pic has a nice revealing picture of a certain crest. Looks similar to the one in Continuum Shift.
Irrsinn Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Woah, Arakune's picture is sick, Nu's too, so thats what happens inside the cauldron. Thanks A LOT man, this is awesome in so many levels, how many bytes is this?

Jourdal Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Holy shit... -Jin is hot in his non-active uniform. -It's hard to believe whats come of Tsubaki -Hakumen has no limits to his badassery -Wtf was Litchi messing with....
StardustStorm Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Thats Carl's dad in the right? Dunno. All I know is that Carl's daddy made Nu's body...And she has little to no clothes on...
STenSatsu Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Looks awesome. Thanks a ton for the scanning.
Final Ultima Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Well they certainly were dropping hints for the Λ-11- replacement, given that Tager's got himself a container with the kanji for 11 on it (compare it to v-13-'s symbol).
Suzaku Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 Well, and 11 was even mentioned in the BB Story Mode's intro. And yeah, I'm not sure if that's Relius or not, but I'd lean towards yes. I've only glanced at the Short Story enough to pick up some key words, and "Relius Clover" and "Puppeteer" are definitely there.
