GenoWhirl Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Well, wuku, worst case scenario is that we pick up Bang, Litchi, or Ragna like everyone else. But... I guess I might as well sub her as a 3rd sub. Kinda one of those characters I play when I don't mind dying. It's really too bad Rachel doesn't have soviet damage. Even with her being the low tier princess, I can't imagine anyone getting hyped over her winning. I'm pretty sure any match with her as a winner is going to be a slow and tedious match where people will be looking to kill us to prevent more Time Out wins. ;-; I'll keep subbing her, maybe I'll stumble upon something out of luck ._.

She has soviet dmg, 3 poles bbl still does more than tager's super. You will still have a chance to make them hype with soviet dmg and UFO since players have tendency to get hyped with the impressive games.
Tari Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 She has soviet dmg, 3 poles bbl still does more than tager's super. It's safer than a normal j.2c, now, since you can escape after doing it. Too bad we lost the easy 3-pole corner setup, though. 236a is apparently a little faster, so 5cdc 214a 236a 236a is potentially a possible setup for two poles into continued pressure, but I don't really see how you can guardbreak and force them into a third pole and BBL, at the moment. Maybe you can pull a pumpkin out while George is going.
Kuuhaku Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Ok. *thumbs up* So the goal now is that we all UFO spam and learn 3 rod BBL setups. Sounds like a plan. Is there still a cool down timer for George? If so- about how long is it? I don't remember seeing the frog meter when Rachel summons him. Same for pumpkin. Though, with pumpkin already being so slow, having a cool down time would just be a kick in the knees.

Though, with pumpkin already being so slow, having a cool down time would just be a kick in the knees. There is a cooldown timer for George, hence why the refrog BBL combos have so much filler in them (and do less damage than normal BBL combos ). Looks like it's around 1-2 seconds, in the videos. It's just a tiny bit too long for 5cdc 214a 66 2b 5b 236a 6a32146c 214a 3c to work. Instead, we have to do something like... 5cdc 214a 66 2b 5b 236a1d 6a 214c (66) 6a32146c 214a 3c, which extends the amount of time taken after George vanishes.
GenoWhirl Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 And...has anyone tried thato ut or is it a theory?
Kuuhaku Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Aah, I see. Though, none of that helps with Rachel's damage prorating so much. At this point, I would be happy if she could just break 3k midscreen with heat.
Tari Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 And...has anyone tried thato ut or is it a theory? I believe blade has tested that one, and that it works. Aah, I see. Though, none of that helps with Rachel's damage prorating so much. At this point, I would be happy if she could just break 3k midscreen with heat. We can sorta break 3k whenever/wherever, with sj 8d dj j.2dc into a frogged or BBL'd opponent, but yeah. Lots of wind use, and it requires a decent setup.
Tari Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Did it break 3k ? Don't know. Doubtful, though. It doesn't break (or barely breaks, forget which) 4k in CT, so I doubt it breaks 3k in CS. Same with alternatives, like 5cdc 214a 66 2b 5b 236a1d 6c3d j.c 632146c 214a 3c. Also doesn't break 4k in CT. There are a bunch of alternative fillers with air combos and air iris that might do more damage (though their usefulness outside of the corner is questionable, and they might be techable), but I can't test those at all.
GenoWhirl Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Also, I think you told us that when using 3 wind, it takes 2-4 secs to recharge one gauge, and 1-2 seconds for the last 2 gauges, but has anyone tested the suggestion of using up all wind?
Spirit Juice Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 3 poles plus body BBL = 3600 damage. Shit sucks. RIP Rachel. She has nothing. NOTHING. The only thing she's good at now is losing, sucking horribly, and making people who play her depressed. I wouldn't want even my best friend to be on my team for team tournaments if they played Rachel.

killionaire Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I assume you can go so far as to render her unplayable?
GenoWhirl Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I'll use her when I'm on my maoschist mood then ;-;
Spirit Juice Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 So I guess that you're going to ditch for Ragna. Yup. Or I can be a dick and learn Bang too (not like it'd be hard). I assume you can go so far as to render her unplayable? At this point, it seems like she's CT Tager tier without the CT Tager damage. So yeah, she feels/looks like she's unplayable at this point. It's really only a matter of time before H.H drops her because she's so terrible.
killionaire Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 It is indeed a sad day when your worst fears finally materialize....
ryokoalways Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 At this point, it seems like she's CT Tager tier. As terrible as she is, she is not CT Tager. That shit was out of this world.
killionaire Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 As terrible as she is, she is not CT Tager. That shit was out of this world. You can say that if you make the point that all the firepower in the world won't help if you don't get a chance to use it on your targets... This example is a different kind of terrible.. Therefore, I can't say that we can make an accurate comparison to CT Tager yet.
Spirit Juice Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 As terrible as she is, she is not CT Tager. That shit was out of this world. Well, match up wise it seems like she's certainly heading there. She probably won't have a bunch of 3-7 match ups, but it'll be close to being that bad.
Atiba Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 This is terrible. I didn't main Rachel but I liked her a lot. I wish they would fix all of this
Lastblade Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 So far for me, I'd hardly say she is unplayable. I have managed about a 25% win rate right now with her and played about 60+ games. I'll agree, she has lost a ton of her abilities from CT and her damage is just, meh... Only reason I'm getting by on some of these is that I've basically forgotten what I know of CT Rachel. (Tari, you saw last night lol. I consistantly tried to air iris or whatever) I've cleared 3K dmg using 3 wind and 50% bar but it's rare After a lot of blocking to the point all winds are back and if she has 50%+ bar, tempest is a nice out. The 4 wind version allows you to close distance while king george is coming out. If they attack you, they're shocked. Pumpkin just plain seems to have bad startup. It comes out fine after 5CDC, so the [5cdc, 214b, 6d6, 6c, j.c, 5b, 5cdc, ect.] still works but it seems a little more strict. @Kro_ and Soniti: Did you manage to test out 5CC loops? If it was too busy, I understand, it's only now started to calm down around here to the point I can test stuff.

Still wondering if aerial pumpkin summon is better than the grounded one, though.
Lastblade Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Don't really know, most of the time when I've done air pumpkin summon the opponent is nowhere near me or I'm too high up to be hit out of it lol. So I can't say for sure. But not being able to do j.214B directly into j.214A is well.... ya...
