HmR.kS Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Yeah one of my bad habits is just mash on the damn button to tech.
purify Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 According to some random GAMEFAQS user lol, "official" tiers for slash have been done apparently. This is what he said: Top tier: Ky Eddie High: Testament Mid: Sol Order Sol Slayer (waaaaaaah my Slayer!) Anji Chipp (maybe high) Robo-Ky (I think this is right) Low: Dizzy This is from what I sorta remember, I know that Ky, Testament, Slayer, Anji, and Dizzy are true. I'll tell you some of the changes to some of these characters if you wanna know. I told him he was full of shit basically and he came back with If you don't believe me, then you're disregarding all information that is officially form Japan. You may not know this, but the game is ALREADY OUT for them, and I have match videos to proove it. My friend himself has a Japanese FIGHTING GAME magazine that displays every piece of information on every fighter that is a current hit. Don't think I'm just messing around here, I'm very VERY hardcore on my sources, and if you don't like it, then tough luck. So what's up? Did I miss something? I did reply to the above btw.
HmR.kS Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Uh... Where's my Baiken? Lower than low? Why aren't the list complete?
Kairi Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 Umm purify why would you go to gamefaqs?....why post that here?
purify Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I thought it had a place in stupid questions. Normally I just tell people they're wrong, lie to them or get banned or something but this guy claims to have access to a source that I have no access to. ...Maybe it's more of I wanted to show somebody being stupid than ask a stupid question. I don't know. Still, what he posted doesn't look completely made up and it's not the same as the older article about how the top players were scoring the characters. In closing, I don't know why I really go to gamefaqs.
Venom Scrub Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 In closing, I don't know why I really go to gamefaqs. GFaqs is like drugs. You know that you really shouldn't be doing them, and you really want to stop, and you know that you're definetly not doing yourself any good but you just can't break the habit.
purify Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Clayton has come to my aid he stands no chance :D I would say that's accurate. I like making fun of them, but I can feel it all making me stupid.
Kairi Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 Lol I think I'll join up again sounds like fun
HmR.kS Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 don't stay out too late~~ Home is still the best :D
Kairi Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 I left within two minutes. Also I updated the first post in this thread so now you have no excuse to post the wrong questions in this thread,Gwrygyn could you update the title so people know now that there are two thread's for stupid questions?
All-around Poke Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I have one question, I'm not sure if you already answered it or not.Sorry in advance. I wanted to know if FRC'ing with three buttons rather than a one button shortcut gives you more and easier timing to FRC, as I couldn't FRC Johnny's 623S with the shortcut but with the three buttons as well as other hard FRCs?
Vash The God Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 The button shortcuts are generally frowned upon, and banned in tournies. If you want to play seriously, play a stick with the K__S__H P_____D setup, like it is in the arcades. And the reason I think you can't do Johnny's 623S FRC with shortcuts is that you need to FRC it with PKH and I don't think that's one of the shortcuts. It's not like there's an FRC in the game that can't be done with the three button method. edit: spacing is impossble
stinkymonz Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Question about tension penalties. Do penalties override each other, or do they like combine? For example, you FRC something and FD for a frame or two immediately after. Do you get a 5 second tension gain penalty, or do you instead gain only 20% after the 20% tension penalty from the FRC for 1 second, or does the FD penalty actually cancel the FRC penalty?
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 The FD penalty doesn't cancel the FRC penalty, I'm quite sure of that. If it didn't, there'd be no point in the FRC penalty as you could just FD after doing the FRC so you'd build tension reasonably normally. Not really sure if they stack or queue up or what besides that though.
Fenrir Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Speaking of stacking, does damage proration stack? Like if you perform a move that prorates and combo into another move that prorates, would the proation apply once you're already in the combo?
HmR.kS Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 My stupid question again: Are all moves Fautless Defence Cancellable? If yes, does the move have to hit for you to FDC it?
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I don't think supers or specials are FDCable. A move CAN'T hit for you to FDC it, because the FDC point is the first few frames of a move, before the active frames. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but most are glitches or just oddities.
HmR.kS Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Oh man I'm so dumb lol. So most/all basic moves like 5P, 5K, etc are FDC-able? Then may I ask again: What is the point of FDC-ing a move, since you can't have it hit for you to FDC it.
stinkymonz Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Speaking of stacking, does damage proration stack? Like if you perform a move that prorates and combo into another move that prorates, would the proation apply once you're already in the combo? Nope. The only exception to this is if the 2nd move has forced prorating on it, meaning that it will prorate no matter where you put it in the combo. An example of this is Dizzy's ice-spike in Slash, which has an 85% forced prorating tacked on it.
zand Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Oh man I'm so dumb lol. So most/all basic moves like 5P, 5K, etc are FDC-able? Option selecting throws, making noises (eg. ky 5h, jam 5S, jam 2d, sol j.D), and also doing things like changing velocity in the air (ex i-no j.d, may j.2h, faust j.2k)
HmR.kS Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Making noise? Changing velocity? LoL, what do you mean? Hmm, so Baiken's j.D is also changing velocity?
stinkymonz Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 FDCing Faust's j.2K makes him fall very slowly, FDCing I-No's j.D gives her a small bounce into the air, yada yada. As for making noise, try watching any given Kaqn vid from #R. He FDCs S.f many many times throughout the match. I wonder if Mays have FDCed 5H. I love the noise she makes there, a very guttural HA! You also FDC your dash to cancel brake frames and cancel momentum immediately.
HmR.kS Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Yeah dashing FDC is the only thing I know how to FDC. Lawl.
SeriousFace Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 This probably is a really stupid question, but what is the definition of a projectile in gg? In the past a projectile was basically anything that controlled space, while you were recoverd. So a projectile is an outside entity thats independent from the character. However in gg there are other proporties to projectiles. Things like how they cancel each other out, some moves might have projectile invulnerability (Buri's starship no projectile invincibility?), and even things that are flickable by pot. Is there a real definition of what constitutes a projectile? Are these things projectiles or not? Eddies shadow Testaments web, and trees, barney (non frc) Axl's [4]6S (non frc'ed), and [4]6H Dizzy ice spike (frc or not) Robo's 6p Kys 6h Anything else you can think of that fits in with any but not all of those proporties.
