yeah pretty much. i always use somethin random to help time my oki set ups.

Examples of things i do after knockdown

Jam-IAD HS

Faust-dash in 2p wiff over body to set up FDC j.k or 2k

baiken-IAD or dj T.mat, dj. 623s-T.mat

You do that one if you don't feel like trying to win anymore. ^_^ IAD Tatami is good though...Could you explain that dj. 623s-T.mat further?

Naw ill peace anybody out with that simple shit lol.

double jump-yozansen-Tatami cover fall. its not a true oki setup and its only good once every very few matches. I think the only reason i hit it every know and then is that people forget baiken can do anything but double jump after an yozansen^^

Now I'm even more confused..... Youzansen before you tatami as a okizeme?.. What the? Wouldn't that give the opponent more than enough time to recover from the ground before your tatami hits them?

FD jump:a technique which allows you to take off the ground faster. It takes a few frames to leave the ground when you input jump depending on character. With FD jump, you will cancel away the startup and hence takes off faster. This is useful when you want to escape from the corner or when you attempt to airthrow your opponent who is in your face.

To do that, simply jump and FD immediately.

P.S: I think you can only do so by jumping backwards.

I got a quick question... you know Baiken's IAD Tatami trick? Is there a reason why that technique isn't used with other characters? Its basically just a tigerknee with an airdash in it.

The only other instance I can think of is Jam's AD 214K.

So are there any other useful moves with this trick? As far as theory fighter goes, I remember it being mentioned a while ago that Sol's Slash VV is unblockable in a certain situation, where you have to TK it so that the fireball is past the opponent, and it only works if they're FDing. Something like that.

So would an IAD S.VV work here? That sounds like a really hard command to do, though, since TK VV is hard enough already.

^ Simple. Most air moves are too unsafe if you do them like that.

BTW, it's HOS's aerial DP that's unblockable in the air, not Sol's.

RC.com used to (still does?) have a video of MIU successfully pulling off the aforementioned unblockable in a match.

OOOH, I thought he was talking about XX\ Sol's VV! Oops...

I remember that vid. I thought it was just a hard-to-see crossover. Chipp could do the same BTW.

Oh, and I think Johnny and Venom could use the IAD TK technique to cross over with 236S. It's just much easier to cross over in other ways.

For the FD jump cancel, if you're being attacked and in block stun, will holding 7FD give you the cancel on the first available frame to jump?

No, FD takes priority over jump, so you'll just sit there and block. You can tap 7, FD to do it, but then they can just kick your feet.

EX UmJamLammy what you should do is just play a whole lot, like acouple of years and un scubify yourself, then you wont need to think about gimp tactics like this, also you could just react to gaps, ill admit its hard to get out of pressure but holding up is the same speed as holdin fd and up, if your in block stun youll stay in block stun untill theres a gap. or ib to increase potential to escape a situation. and i cant spell.

i wouldn't call it gimp tactics. more like trying to see if there's an easier way. and i'm not saying just hold it throughout the string, but on the end of a blocked hit that's obviously the last in a pressure string.

Any other confirmed special fight intros? Like, theres that badass triple-clash one between Hoss and Slayer, and the Millia vs Eddie one should still be there... I think May and Faust has one too...

But anyway, any others?

Quick stupid qn: how do you do Sol's Dust, Dust, land, repeat version of DL? I can do other variations like Dust S Dust or K Dust Dust but cant seem to do the original. I'd do setup, then jump Dust, and on the way down my 2nd D just wont come out. Do i need a double jump or something?

I think this should be in the Sol Character Specific Forum in Gameplay Laboratory. :P

Anyway, the first j.D has to be done early or else the second j.D in a single normal jump won't come out.

Is there some kind of technique or strict timing to air-dashing in a dust combo or is it just me?

You do

5D [9]D ]9[ 9 D |> D Loop

What that means is you hold up to auto-jump cancel the first dust, then release and quickly tap up again, to double jump into another dust. That makes you fall and sends them up. It's tricky to do, just takes practice though.
