Crouching links:

6CD(j.C whiff cancel land) 5B (used 5A but 5B actually works)

CH 6CD(j.C whiff cancel land) 5B etc (works standing also)

Fatal counter crouching links:

5C fatal [ 6CD(j.C whiff cancel land) 5B ] x N wind

---How this works: 6C has forced landing recovery. You simply cancel the landing recovery into the startup of j.C so you can combo.

---6C is airborne (basically beating lows) on first active frame. 6CD gets you into their face in certain situations where they are footsie-ing with sweep or slow ranged pokes.

---Now you can combo from 6C on crouching and enjoy better proration off even on standing 6C counterhits (5B is better than j.C proration wise)

Learning something new everyday. Hehe.

I can do two, but not three. But I'll have to agree with Tempest, it doesn't seem like a good idea to use three winds for it.

Unless we're going to attempt trolling

2 spikes make sense, you can end the combo with BBL if you have a meter and save the rest for an oki.

Rachel is the official troll character of the game now, so maybe we should all attempt 4 spike loops... l mean, it's either 200 damage combos or decent, yet very situational and somewhat difficult spike loops.

I tried that lvl 2 j.2c combo again today, think I *almost* got the timing for the j.2c down (still too used the timing from CT though), but when I tried against Bang and Jin several times I missed their hitboxes. Does anyone know a character that's good for training that combo?

Regardless if its CT or CS,for me I found Ragna a good dummy for the lv2 j.2c combo. I seem to have a higher sucess rate with him compare to the other cast.

Also for those who have tried the console version, I'm wondering if its an input issue on my part. Has anyone having trouble landing the lv3 j.2c after BBL? I know that this requires your opponent to be high enough so that you'll have enough time to land the j.2c without winding yourself downward. Still regardless of my altitude and timing I always get lv2 j.2c.

Tried console at my friend's pad. Rachel has the shittiest mission combos EVER.

To land the 1 wind lvl3 j.2C you have to sj.8D and j.2C either when the lightning super ends or right afterwards, depending on the opponent's launched height. Use that as a visual indicator.

I seriously wish there were an easier way to tell when to start the j.2c. It does get easier after you've done it for a while, but it's still a pain in the *ahem*.

Also, what're her mission combos?

Well, if you have trouble with making the j.2c a lvl 3, you can always spend one extra wind to wind yourself down, that'll guarantee a lvl 3.

When I saw the combo counter say "Silpheed 2+D" after BBL I lost all respect for whoever decided on the Rachel combos.

That's the thing, I have to wind myself downward to make sure its lv3. I guess its the D-pad.

Her mission combos ? If you been playing as rachel since CT and know her BNB's then you'll have no trouble.

They're petty basic, like what to do when you score a 6A counter hit, the basic oki after CDC etc. This would be easy if you're using PS3 since it has a nice d-pad.

Though there is some interesting stuff, I think it was mission 8 and 9.

@EV - Windinding yourself down will make your opponent tech out even at the right time.

I meant that I was expecting more to her mission combos. I can do the level 3 1 wind j.2C thats why her mission combos are really stupid. They didn't even include her 6-7k throw combo in her mission mode.

Me too, I was expecting that rachel's mission mode will help me understand her CS incarnation more. But It turns out that it contains stuffs that we already know. Then again, it's geard towards new players that would like to try her out.

Her mission 10 combo was pretty painful, it does look cool but 70 hits for what ? 4k+ damage ?

Out of curiosity, what is this 6-7k throw combo? :v:

It's probably similar to madao combo vid princess, the one that start with a corner throw then BBL followed by lv3 j.2c then frog whiff 5CC then another lv3 j,2c. It goes on and on. Deals pretty damage, though i'm not sure if this is what sanshiki means.

Who wants to try Rachel out now? There was only a handful of us in ct, and she was top tier then...

l think arc is trying to painfully stress to us that Rachel was not designed for rushdown/combo's, and any attempt to try will result in more nerfs and more failure.

If you get a throw into the corner with 100% heat that's 6.5k damage. Secret Japanese combo to share.

throw 3C9D BBL lv3 j.2C 214A

5CC (2nd hit only, frog activates when opponent hits floor) lv3 j.2C 236A

dash 3C 3hits 214C 6A BBL lv3 j.2C 214A

5CC (2nd hit only again) 5B OTG (frog activates) 236A dash 3C BBL lv3 j.2C 214B 3C 214A

its actually a 150% heat 3 wind combo by the way. If you start off with like 5B3C9D thats 7k damage. Or since its a back throw you don't even need to spend wind to launch the opponent higher.

I guess that one is just for show, what are the chances of 6A hitting an opponent who's after your ass? It clashes alot and comes out slow. Might as well just IB

Actually, if you wind yourself down, you can sj8D immediately after BBL and wind yrself down just as BBL finishes, so you don't have to pay any attention to the timing. I always use 2 wind j.2c, never fails to register lvl 3. When I tried one wind though, the opponent always techs just before j.2c connects. Grrrr.

That throw combo is pretty complicated, maybe they didn't want to let new Rachel players (though I really can't imagine why there would be any) try that yet. And only that first part of her mission 10 combo is particularly interesting to me, didn't know you could link 5CDC to 6A counterhit, though 6A sucks now though. I hardly find myself using it.

Anyone know some good combos off a 5cc fatal counter?

Just go for whatever your most damaging 5cdc combo is in that situation I guess. If you're really close you can connect 3c btw, from there use 3c9d>BBL>lvl.3 j.2c shenanigans I guess. I don't really see many 5c/5cc FCs happening although I guess you can punish a DP with it, or perhaps patternize your 4b (which is pretty risky since 4b is still pretty slow despite its speed buff) and then 5c/5cc FC someone who tries to jab you through it I guess. Haven't put much thought into this since its not very common to score a 5c FC, or even a 5c in general outside of combos.
