Yea... I also noticed if you get hit theres going to be a few 3k-4k combos in a row you with run into. How do you guys thing about FuRin? I had a bang I played against lately that will get all 4 in one combo and go instantly with meter. Also one of Bangs strongest moves I think that I dont see much is the bumper nails. I know one bang in particular that once he gets about 4 of them out youre dead ^^; Strongest suggesting if youre havign alot of trouble with certain characters... learn those characters so you know when/how to block and retaliate against those crazy blockstrings. :kitty: In any case, Bang plays want you to block alot. They have a good hi/low mixup and that command throw is devastating if you don't tech out. I don't think bang has a whole lot of overhead (correct me if I'm wrong... Bang and Carl are about the only characters I don't play often.) So on wake up it should be safe to block low and stay there till you see his slower overheads start. Just beware the speed at which he can go from that overhead to back low. It's pretty quick.

I haven't really played a lot of Bangs, but I've played a few Ragnas. The problem is that Tsubaki is pretty much a Ragna v2 that is just not as good. They both have weak defense and are both rushdown characters which have similar moves (charging forward special, DPs, the air to ground special)... It's just that he outprioritizes her and his combos do more damage without charges. The game really revolves around baiting and confusing the opponent by charge cancelling at different times. You really want Ragna to try to block as much as possible... Once you bait DPs couple of times, he'll think twice before trying to mash that (just be careful if he has heat... The RCs can really get you). I also found that Ragnas like to jump a lot (especially the ones who I've played), so the 2C really helps... And once they're grounded, it'll be easier to blockstring him. Likewise, if the Ragna knows how to 6A, you'll be grounded as well. RCs and CCs are really your friends in this matchup.

Shadow, Bang's overheads are certainly dangerous. if he hits an overhead, it's 3k (4k with meter) or 2.5k, and both finish with you on the ground on wakeup situation. Also, his 5C overhead gatlings into his 6B overhead, so you have to learn to block multiple overheads in a row while still watching for his incredibly fast 2A, 2C, and the tricky low 6A. It's pretty scary, but if you see Bang pause for an overhead or slow low, you can reaction DP if your fingers are quick enough. You only have about 18 or 24 frames, I can't remember which, but neither are that long.

I have a hard time seeing Tsubaki's DP of much use except in a combo. Almost any time I do it I just get smacked outta it ^^; DP without invincible frames is kinda hard to get used to... coming from a Jin player XD

I've actually used the DP to get out of blockstrings before. You could also use the D version, which I believe has invincibility frames.

Yeah, that's the one I meant. Bang's probably not going to be trying to bait generally non-invincible DPs during his godmode pressure, so if you throw it out you are probably going to connect. Worst case, you trade, and are not in pressure.

So does her DP have inv? "A" version has inv before it actually hits B and C, no... "D" yes Does dp suck? probably worst DP in the game But think of the bright side, you have a DP... and it does 1k dmg if it trades, free get out of pressure so whatevers...

There was a Tsubaki player at MGL who was having reasonable success in Air-Air with Tsubaki's double jB (I think, correct me if she doesn't have it); forced me to start air grab interrupting him, which ironically led to more damage since Bang's air grab daifunka is 5.2k, and while that only works in the corner, it's pretty easy to get a random counter throw. Another warning of things Bang can do and a suggestion of something Tsubaki has that seems pretty good.

ROTFLMAO, i remember those days. Sagat/Ryu trade DP into ultra, welcome to SF4.

Wouldn't Tsubaki's be the only DP that trades?

Posted

Jin's A DP might trade under some circumstances.

It will trade(favorably and unfavorably), it will straight out lose, it can win against moves with short lasting attack frames, and she has the only DP where you can push her away from her own DP. obviously you can't get anymore variety then this!

Haha OBaloney told me about the air throw thing.
