GZ-Matthias Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 This is announced very early. The owner of AL and Osirun here are very active contributors to the fighting game community around Ohio. As long as nothing strange comes up around that time, I'm definitely going to this. If you can make it in, I suggest you do. I feel like they're planning this very far in advance to understand what will be necessary to make the first big event at AL go as smoothly as possible. In all likelihood GGAC will be a side tourney. If you guys want it (I know most of you do), you may need to speak up and make a commitment to make it a good side tourney.
Osirun Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 You got it exactly right as to why we're announcing early. We want to make sure this event is great and that everyone has a spectacular time.
Osirun Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 GGAC has been added as an official side-tourney! Speak up here so we can get an idea about how many people are interested!
TheSlyMoogle Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I'll be playing Accent Core. Also if Blazblue Continuum Shift comes out before this tournament, will Blazblue remain CT or change to CS?
Kamui Moon Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 what day would you have AC? please make it $10, too.
GZ-Matthias Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I'll be playing Accent Core. Also if Blazblue Continuum Shift comes out before this tournament, will Blazblue remain CT or change to CS? over on SRK Osirun said if Super Street Fighter 4 came out, they would run that instead of SF4. I'd imagine the response would be the same for Continuum Shift. Plus I think most of us would like to drop BB:CT as soon as possible.
TheSlyMoogle Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 over on SRK Osirun said if Super Street Fighter 4 came out, they would run that instead of SF4. MacArthur Blunts Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 GGAC plz a main tourney? for $10. Also maybe do 2v2 or 3v3 if attendance is high enough?
doragonkoroshi Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 alright you guys. Nathan asked if I would run GG, and I was like "yeah." This means you will most likely get to run GG again, John. However, I will keep a list of of people supposedly going starting now. Note to Nathan: if GG is on Sundee, I probably won't be there. The players: doragonkoroshi - Testament Macarthur Blunts - Slayer THE Sly Moogle - Anji AlphaKami - Ky (he still plays Ky, right?) Kamui Moon - Order-Sol 10stars (maybe) - Johnny Effenhoog - Dizzy Circuitous - ??? Pope Temmy - May Linuka - Millia??? Brent-quest - Sol Badguy bucklemyshoe - I-no Doomie J - Testament Zach C. - Millia Xerofaith - Sol Badguy SH_ - Baiken anybody wants added, let me know. Hopefully Sean Howard will be back in the game by this time. I miss that guy. Also, I got a new phone a couple months back and lost Paul's number as a result. Please let me know if you have it and I'll ask him if he'll go.
doragonkoroshi Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 HDR Ps3 or 360? (make it 360) everything's usually ps tree.
MacArthur Blunts Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 joysey comin heeya to get hammahd? got you guys on the housing though if I'm still in the same place by then.
Alex073088 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 why no mapping for tekken? and u can easy special blazblue?
Effenhoog Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I already posted in the SRK thread but I'll sign up for GG here anyway.
Kamui Moon Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 of course there will be casuals! let's make this event hype! which reminds me, where can i get one of those avatars? need a hos one like mad. matt: pm
Circuitous Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'd say use the Request an Avatar Thread in Zepp Museum but I'm the only one answering requests right now as far as I can tell. If you want anything specific you can just PM me. And if there's casuals my odds of attending just shot up to about 85%. It's only about an hour away, too, and last I checked gas is cheaper than hotels. Wait what the fuck there's an arcade about an hour away from me with Area 51(!!!), Tower of Doom, Sunset Riders, MOONWALKER(!!!!!), and I've never been there? That's nuts. (But, why no BB/GG cabs? Or are they just not on the list? I must investigate further. Edit: oh, console room. Boss!)
Kamui Moon Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 wait, wait, wait. you actually live in our area and have never shown up? come on man! there is a GG cab, too. AL has a slash board and a ggxx one. you can ask the guy at the front desk if it's not up and he'll hook it up for you. i was also talking about the Power Up avatars that like everyone in the cinci/dayton area has on srk and slymooglio has here. durr hurr edit: never saw that avatar rar.
Circuitous Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm in Rising Sun but like I said it's only an hour away. And I drive like a madman, so that's more like 45 minutes. No AC board?
doragonkoroshi Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Eric, ask Nathan for an avatar, or get the template from him and freestyle it. Circuit City, who do you play and why haven't you been out to our tournamenaments? Also, no AC board YET. Let's make it out to some ranbats and show them this game isn't dead. Alex, what are you talking about? No mapping in Tekken is right, but I don't think easy mode in BB (easier than the game is normally) is happening.
Circuitous Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I can answer both questions in one fell swoop: I don't know! No but seriously I'm a scrub. The only person I've actually played GG with picks random and mashes until I finally let him do something else. I know the basics but I haven't picked a character and I can't do much beyond basic gatlings -> super. I haven't even really touched GG in a couple months now. BB I'm a little better with since I've gotten in a few games online but other than that my only competition has been story mode so far. I've been using Arakune since I got a decent hold on him pretty quickly, and other than Ragna/Jin I haven't really tried anyone else. As for tournaments, well, that should be pretty obvious. But yeah I'd love to come up and play some time, worst that could happen is I get my ass kicked over and over again, right?
doragonkoroshi Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I can answer both questions in one fell swoop: I don't know! No but seriously I'm a scrub. But yeah I'd love to come up and play some time, worst that could happen is I get my ass kicked over and over again, right? Well, if we were to speculate on the worst that could happen, you could get in a car accident and die or be horribly injured. Or maybe something worse than that is possible. I don't know. It's best not to think about it though. I mean, accidents even happen at home. Who is to say that going to a tournament might not actually save your life by causing you to avoid any calamity around home? So let's just not worry about the worst thing that could happen. But that said, start touching Guilty Gear again. Touch it A LOT. Touch it HARD. Find a character. If it helps you decide, at a tournament last year, we had 3 zappas and 3 ABAs from OH/KY. I'm not saying don't pick them, but if you thought they would be cool because nobody else plays them, think once more. We have a character tutorial video thread if that helps, but it's pretty incomplete.
