bucklemyshoe Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 lol it's my dream team, tiers are irrelevant.
4r5 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 The perfect dream team equals a team of your two favorite players plus Ogawa. Ogawa will insure that your two favorite characters will have more the one match on the DVD.
Champion Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 It's all about isa's Eddie now IMO. Screw Ogawa.
axel Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Man I don't know about that. Last year Ogawa didn't join any tournaments or ranbats as far as I know, and he only took part in SBO qualifiers towards the end of the qualification period. This year he seems to be more active, as shown in his participation in G3 singles. Perhaps we'll see a revival of the tyrant?
bucklemyshoe Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 The perfect dream team equals a team of your two favorite players plus Ogawa. Ogawa will insure that your two favorite characters will have more the one match on the DVD. except that Ogawa is also one of my favorite players.
Digital Watches Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 except that Ogawa is also one of my favorite players. I'm sure Daigo Umehara makes most people's "favorite SF players" list, too.
Josh Ballard Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 You can do much more damage with other options that take less time to execute, and still knock down. For example, if you block the first hit of Danzai, you can punish with a ton of different moves. If you IB it, you can run up (out of the second hit's range) if you're within 3 character widths of ABA. You can also use 623P-->FB, as the superflash will beat the super armor. Many of these options allow a BLoop in the corner for at least 50 more damage than 214P (depending on what you punish with). It's kind of like using it against VV. Sure it works, but it's not the best option by a long shot. I know you can do all sorts of stuff if you block it up close, but smart ABA players won't use it there; hell, May can punish a close Danzai with 5S-2D-FB Dolphin stuff, but you never see that in real matches. I was thinking tensionless punish from a distance, and 214P is the best I can find - 623P gets the wallbounce, but you can't combo from it unless she's close to the corner. But that's just splitting hairs. The REAL best tensionless punish is slashback, anyway. =P
reaVer Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 No, slashback costs tension and only on success you get it back :P
alucard19 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 you mean this? it's pretty old, so i wouldn't take anything it states as fact. is it a updated version around?
alucard19 Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 dude.... I don't know if you know this, but alucard is dracula spelled backwards.............. I wun tahk obout tears? R tier = burito, johnathan, and ay know Z tier = Edward the long shanks, Testicles, and BAIKEN O tier = everyone else discuss Yes, I know that. I knew that for years . But yeah, I'm interested in seeing a updated ranking cart.Anybody know where i can find a ac one ?
qwerty Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 is it a updated version around? not that i know of. though really, no two matchup charts will be the same, regardless of how current they are. i do hope you know that most of what dictates character rankings are arbitrary distinctions made by top players and don't have much (if any at all) statistical backing to them.
lovage Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Ogawa's Opinion; 11/01/08 S: Eddie A+: Testament, Jam, Slayer A: Millia, May, Baiken A-: Potemkin, Aba, Chipp, Sol, Venom, Robo-Ky, Order Sol B+: Axl, Anji, Dizzy, Faust, Ky, I-No, Zappa, Bridget B-: Johnny In the most recent tier list, are the characters supposed to be rated in each row from right to left? Is Anji much better than Zappa and Potemkin better than order Sol?
rtl42 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 wow, tier list with a rating of B- as lowest? not bad.
Teyah Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Not bad, though take note of the large numbers of characters in the lower tiers compared to the upper tiers. And Johnny, who is literally two tiers below everybody else.
Digital Watches Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Not to mention some of that being kind of suspect. Like Chipp being so high...
RNRR Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Not to mention some of that being kind of suspect. Like Chipp being so high... Zergling rush is pretty high tier :P
rtl42 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 hey lovage, can you post a link to the source of that? Not bad, though take note of the large numbers of characters in the lower tiers compared to the upper tiers. And Johnny, who is literally two tiers below everybody else. haha, i didn't notice there was no B tier, that's interesting.
AtTheGates Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Not to mention some of that being kind of suspect. Like Chipp being so high... typical eddie-player trauma when playing against FINDO ME! shuriken SURPRISE! chipp.
Björn Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I feel with games like Guilty Gear, tier listings aren't particularly relevant. In some games it's good to know that the character you like to play is a gaurenteed loss against the upper brackets but that's not the case atleast in AC. I do recall a Zappa winning a tournament all the back in the #Reload days when he was scraping the bottom. Guilty Gear in general has a lot of diversity in tournaments other fighter games could never come close to. Not one 7-3 matchup in AC. Even Johnny who is probably the most over nerfed character right now has a few good matchups.
blipples Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Whoa a zappa actually won something? that is news to me.
reaVer Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 He didn't win, but he nearly OCV'ed the winning SBO team in that year. Then his team got reverse OCVed.
