Rhiya Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Keep the pressure on him and don't let up. Please. Please. PLEASE read this topic. IB 360 will rape pretty much anything Tsubaki does pressure-wise.
Kiba Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) At the start of the battle: 5B beats most of his attacks except for 5C. 22A beats his 5C and you get CH and wallbound. Get ready to press 5B into air combo. 22A trades with his 4D, both of which cause a wallbound. I also found out that 5A clashes with his 5B... Edited February 2, 2011 by Kiba
CrescentSaber Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Please. Please. PLEASE read this topic. IB 360 will rape pretty much anything Tsubaki does pressure-wise. This so much. Tager can IB grab anything Tsubaki does. Against a Tager that knows this, you do not want to rely on long pressure strings. Use your pokes to fish for that hit that you need to start a combo or make an opening.
Kiba Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Against a Tager that knows this, you do not want to rely on long pressure strings. To be honest, it's better if you don't use ANY sort of pressure string on him, even if it's short.
Airk Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 2AAAAAAA for pressure! er. "Pressure" Also, he can't IB->360 5B, which is why it's so critical in this matchup. Everything ELSE though? Going up!
Kiba Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 2AAAAAAA for pressure! er. "Pressure" Also, he can't IB->360 5B, which is why it's so critical in this matchup. Everything ELSE though? Going up! Lol! Just remember his 5C beats your 5B. Also, he may not be able to IB-360 5B, but he can 360 you OUT OF 5B, because of the range it has...:/
CrescentSaber Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I find myself playing hit and run mostly against Tager. 5B is my main poke. I make use of 2A and 5A as well as the occasional CC and jump away. Also since it's easy to build up charge against him I never go for any kind of attack without at least one stocked charge so I can 623D just in case I get caught and he does GF. 623D seems to beat all of his mixup options after GF but like any DP he can bait it so I wouldn't get too predictable with it.
Rhiya Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 623D seems to beat all of his mixup options after GF He should be able to sledge straight through it, though that requires yomi-ing your DP
CrescentSaber Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Oh right well with the exception of sledge. But I've gotten a few that got wise to the DP thing and tried to use sledge to stuff it but just like a DP I can bait that sledge and simply block. It's just a huge guessing game on both players parts. He's trying to read you as you're trying to read him.
A.X.I.S. Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Tager's 5C does not beat Tsu's 5B if spaced, in fact Tager doesn't have a solid answer for it since she doesn't extend her hurt box, at least thats what I observed, I only see 5C stuffing 5B if you tried to run up and 5B him. Another thing Tagers A sledge is -3 on block so if you do bait the sledge, lets assume its A sledge ok? you should IB it so you get your punish, he can't do anything to prevent a punish without heat. CrescentSaber Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 That's good to know. I'll be sure to keep that in mind from now on. I've learned a bit about Tager after being horrible at this match up for so long and it's really starting to pay off now.
