EdgeKun Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Oregon Robo-Ky representative, reporting. Been playing RK since Slash, dabbled a little bit with him in #R. While I'm hardly the best, (still working on getting air -> ground combos off on command) I'd at least like to think myself adept with RK. If any of you guys are ever in the Oregon area, send me a PM or something. I (as well as plenty of GG friends in the area) would love a new opponent. =P

You have any problems there is many people able to give out advice. Though, I dont ever see myself traveling to Oregon in the future. I might see ya at Evo World (cheaper tickets ftw). You should look into taking some trips to north Cali where there is an abundant GG scene. We will have are mirror match M.song. Btw my ive been tweaking some command grab combos to be prevailed in my combo vid I am to lazy to complete cause of holiday. I promise my i didnt forget!

I've already noticed the wealth of good advice here and am doing my best to put it to use. As for the tickets to SoCal, I'm kinda doing the college thing right now (Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls, Oregon) so it'll be a year or so until I'm a little more free to travel about. That said though, hopefully I can get down there some day after graduation. =) Until then, I just do my best sparring against Hellsap and the rest of the Portland guys. (As well as the K Falls + Salem guys) ^^

I'm from Brooklyn, NY, though for 8 months of the year I'm in Hempstead, NY. If anything, I would be learning from you guys, though I would be glad to play anyone else if they are interested. Got to make progress sometime! EDIT for new thread: Eh well to make a long story short.... the order of my mains: :KY: Not to mention I've dabbled in a bit in just about every char. A long and hard road it has been. But now it gets harder...

If you have any questions all will be answered to best of well the knowledge of Robo players here ^^. You should try playing against the people in chicago, since they are a major scene i hear.

Or just unite... hey fellow robo runners...ive been outa the loop 4 a lil while....and as 4 seeing me at ctf, that won't be happening anytime soon(im currently attending college in north carolina). i cant wait to come back and try 2 maintain my status in cf as 1 of the only robo players...ive been getting people to convert to robo-ism:roboky: .its also good to hear that there is some kind of sign of gg players in brooklyn in general...SEE U GUYS AT CTF DURING SPRING BREAK!!!!(look out 4 a really short black kid operating a serious RK...thats me)

Now a completly play this robo, and o like it.

Mr. Dogma Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Yo. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not really a Robo player at the moment. However, I admit from the second I saw him, I knew I was eventually going to make him my solid main, but for right now I'm maining Anji. I really want to try and at least make him my secondary, if not main, but for the life of me I can't do jack with him. I had a friend who is significantly better than me that plays Johnny and he started to learn Robo-Ky as well, but has the exact same problems I do. I can do some combos I've seen in videos that look practical to me as well as some that are listed, but I can't seem to get the basic "(whatever) 2S 5H FRC into air combo" down. Whenever I hit the FRC, they're already so low to the ground that I can't do anything. Is there any advice on who I should practice on to get it down?
Doomscyther Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 Are you talking about darren in Austin? The 2s 5hs frc isnt so bad once u get use to it, just doing it over and over again. Just wait a tad once laser hits, to do the 5hs.

I've also played games with a guy who mains Zappa, a sol, a ky, an anji, an order-sol, a slayer, a faust, and an eddie. Those are the really good people I've met here in Austin. Unfortunately, it's been a couple months so I've forgotten all their names. It also doesn't help our local arcade didn't get enough money so they had to leave. Only 25 cents a pop too for GG. The rest of the people I've played are on my skill level or lower.
