I really wanted to main Noel, but once I saw the combos I'd need to do my spirits were weakened. Then when I picked up the game and tried to play her, it pretty much crushed any current ideas that I'd be playing her since I have god awful execution at this point. Working in the dashing in combos is my ultimate Achilles heel. I tried everyone and settled on Nu for a while, then decided to try Jin again and low and behold I found my main. It wasn't for the freezing either, that was kind of a bonus. I found that he seems to have some of the easiest executions in the game so I went with him. I liked Tager too, but Jin being faster, having multiple DPs, projectiles, and then freezing kinda made the decision for me. Maybe I'll pick up Tager as a secondary some time in the future.

Not chasing when I have the life lead I was doing, and yeah I guess I should've specified more about the teleporting. Mostly it's the ground teleporting. A lot of times I like to just wait in one spot and follow the camera zooming to see if the Arakune is coming in close or teleported away. Close I can deal with usually, but when they're teleporting far away both in front and behind I'm not quite sure what to do. I throw out ice blades, but they never make it before the Arakune player teleports again. Ice Car sounds potentially useful though if I can get the timing on it though, since I haven't tried that yet. So would it just be better to wait for them to come to me? I'm just worried that it'd give the Arakune time to set up clouds.

I was just wanted to be sure since saying "should we use them like combos on block" made me think you were a little unsure of yourself. And yeah I use A ice car since it's safe. Alternatively you can stop at the 5C and jump cancel instead. So instead of 2C (which frankly is kinda optional anyway depending on your spacing) it would be this: 2A(xN), 5B, 5C, jc, j.b. You can cancel the j.b into a B/D ice blade, but I'm not sure how safe that is. You can also throw in a 2C after the 5C since you can jump cancel that as well, but I tend to leave it out.

Pressure strings are basically a short sequence of moves you do when you know your opponent if blocking. As the name suggests, it's meant to put pressure on the opponent to block. If I pressure I usually just stick to 2A(xN), 5B, 5C, 2C, A ice car. Ideally though you're gonna want to mix in some high-low to keep your opponent guessing which way to block then hitconfirm into a combo if you land a hit somewhere.

Wait I'm confused. I know you can't freeze more than once in a combo, excluding certain moves, but I thought you could still hit with a freeze move as just damage. Like end an air string with it and you would still get a legit combo, just that it wouldn't freeze.

Okay, I've just picked this up recently and have only been playing Jin a short amount of time. I don't need basics, but I'm still at super-incredibly-scrubberific level. As such, I only have one question about this matchup: What do I do against Arakune players that just teleport like 90% of the time? I haven't lost to one that does that yet, but it's still incredibly annoying and I was wondering if there was some magical Jin thing I didn't know that shuts it down.

Well yeah, I'd be impressed if anyone could do that consistently, but I was just curious. It seemed like such an interesting hypothetical situation.

So reiterating what you said: Move A and Move B hit at the same, but one of the two is nullified because you can't have 2 moves hit on the exact same frame, but because of active frames, one of those 2 moves will continue and then cause a hit on the next possible frame. So, doesn't that mean that, assuming you're just awesome and can hit the 1F guard switch every time, you could still get hit because you don't know which move will get nullified, essentially making your decision on which way to block a flip of a coin?

I start off the match by punching my opponent in the face dazing him just long enough to win the match and make my escape.

As an Anji player also, I would say 2D is only okay as oki with Slayer. You can do it a couple times, but don't get too predictable with it, cause if you do you'll 3K'd.

Wow, thanks a lot. I admit I'm rather disappointed in Axl's, Chipp's, and that Baiken it's unclear if Baiken gets something else. Me and my friend were trying to figure it out since I had just unlocked them. And yeah, Potemkin does walk really, really slow. Nothing special :8/:

I'm not very good, I only made it to 377. Wasn't even anyone special, I just died. On that note, I'm curious as to some of the gold things they gave each character that I can't see to figure out what they did: Axl, Chipp, Baiken, Bridget, and I-no.

I'm gonna go with Tiamat on that, cause my first instinct was the old butterflys. But no, the second hit isn't overhead. Or was it? EDIT: Nope, not overhead. But they do go full screen.

Well, I originally was gonna try and find out later. But I just unlocked the gold characters and I was looking at all the shenanigans they gave them. What did they do special for Anji? Or is his specialty that he does nothing.

I didn't know you could follow up Crosswise with 5h, though I guess that makes sense since it can be followed by c.S. I did know about the BBU, but that's still good info.

I use S dandy on people who like to do reversal supers. I'm not that good, but I loved it back when the arcade was still here and I'd be playing someone, usually a Sol, who tries to do something like Tyrant Rave on wakeup only for me to end up behind them and pilebunker them in the back. Also, Neophos said that he believes 5k only gatlings to 6P. Does 5k into itself not count? I'm dead serious, I'm not sure if moves canceling into itself counts as a link or a gatling.

Well, we don't necessarily have to write up the match-ups upon creation. Look at the Anji match-ups subforum. When someone feels they have something to contribute, they toss it in there.
