Safetyman Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Oh, Dr. Baldhead always get the short end of the stick. Dr. Baldhead? I see no Dr. Baldhead, you must be confused.
koogy Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 I'm working on the tag design for all DUSTLOOP x BROKENTIER designs, and another more general design right now for the company. I will hopefully have something to show off tomorrow, but keep the ideas coming. Right now, I'm looking for really clean, simple designs. It's hard to describe the goal of the images, but imagine parodies or something you could wear in public and if nobody played fighting games, they wouldn't think twice about it. :3 edit: Just came up with a new idea. How would a t-shirt with a redrawn poison flask from Faust's items sound? I think it's a cool idea, and would be really simple. :3
Amadeus46Art Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Nobody said anything about my Potemkin shirt. ;-; I blame Gooey.
Beatrice Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Assuming your potemkinshirt was the one with the numbers - I enjoyed it.
SoWL Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I, for one, welcome more Faust shirts. Actually, if I couldn't afford the Dust one, I'd still find money to buy a Faust one.

bjholmes2 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I think you guys are missing the point. The idea of these shirts is not to have everyone staring at you trying to figure out what exactly your shirt is supposed to be; the objective is to make the tees look normal enough to a non-fighting game player that they just pass you by, but to be instantly recognizable to a fighting gamer. In other words, BE SUBTLE. </irony> I'd like to see a shirt with a claw and a rose.

Basically, being as subtle as possible is the best way to make an enjoyable shirt. Even the "In Dust We Trust" shirt is a bit less subtle then I'd like, but it's still alright from a style stand point.
render Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 bjholmes2's post is pretty much spot on. Seconded. Saw this in another thread, and I have no idea if it's copyrighted material, but I would totally buy a shirt with this on it: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/123/324428706_15e4790987.jpg?v=0 From my experience, the term "hype" and the phrase "get hype" is unique to the fighting game scene. I've never heard them in any other setting. Though, to be fair, I'm not exactly part of a whole lot of other scenes. >_> It seems like something simple enough to easily fit any kind of shirt design, much in the same way the brand "OBEY" does (and their shirts are pretty much colored shirt+"OBEY" - simple as it gets). I look forward to more designs. Definitely considering a "BROKEN" shirt. ;D
Blade Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Just give me a shirt that lists all the 623+whatever inputs in the history of fighting games and I'll be happy.

And I love the word hype; I actually have the phrase "get hype" on the collar of my first batch of shirts. Don't worry, I'll have some more hype designs soon. :D
render Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 haha, I realized as I was posting that. "This AHVB shirt kinda looks like... ohhhhhhh"
koogy Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 I really want to make a shirt that says "Who's Render?" on the front, then "I'M RENDER" on the back. :D
Shadow Draygon Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I want a shirt of Sol with Ky, Dizzy, and Testament in a hover car with a Robo Ky on the side of the car with Sol in a robe waving his hand saying "These are not the gears you are looking for."
render Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I really want to make a shirt that says "Who's Render?" on the front, then "I'M RENDER" on the back. :D XD XD XD XD HOLY SHIT, KOOGY, THAT'S AWESOME. Umm, what's your minimum print run? I would totally buy a bunch of those and sell them to friends down here. Maybe it could be a limited run hahaha I feel like a total narcissist to even think about it... Either way, I'm hyped about BROKENTIER. Are you going to be reppin' at EVO??
koogy Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 Haha, yeah, I'll be at some majors this year. I'll post up when I am, and I'll bring a bunch of shirts, and possible some surprises. :3 I'll PM you~

This idea is hilarious. XD I don't even care if it fits my company style, it's really good. Now just to find someone who can draw in that style...
Shadow Draygon Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 For the original movie quote, it was droids. But I guess if you wanted to tweak it to make a little more sense, you would replace Sol with Kliff.
YuYu Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 ...so many new pages in this thread...I ordered mine~ D: I didn't order the BlazBroken one though because I'm afraid a small will be too big :/
9 A.D. Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 how about a line of shirts based on the drive crests in BB. no explanation, just a stylized rendering of the crests covering most of the shirt in a color combination that references the characters default colors. i.e. back shirt with a pink crest for rachel, red shirt with black/dark purple for ragna ect. think like the affliction shirts that haven been popular lately as an example of what i am thinking of. got this idea last night and sounds like if could be good if done right and fit the subtle but recognizable goals.
