I'm insane, and started a company that sells t-shirts to fighting gamers.

BROKENTIER

- Printed in the USA. The shirts are soft, and feel great. 100% Jersey Spun Cotton makes you want to hug it all day.
- I have sizes ranging from S ~ 3XL. We have a size for everyone! We use unisex shirts!
- Has a screen printed design on the collar. No more itchy neck business.
- I ship the NEXT DAY, as long as I have the stock Delivery so fast, it might be in fire when it arrives. Pre-orders can sometimes take a while, but I try to keep customers updated on it!

We currently have 6 designs available, but we're always expanding! So, please post your ideas, and let's work together to make amazing shirts! If your design gets chosen, you will get a free shirt, and possible other goodies! :yaaay:

Arriving prior to the almost certainly impending swath of Tager shirt ideas, possibly something in black that gives a reverse silhouette of him, save for the shades he's adjusting? "Science Time" or "Gigantic" somewhere fitting. Beyond just "Boobies!", I'm trying to think of something great for Taokaka. I'll get back on that.

I can't design things. Questions: Do you have girl shirts? [fitted] I doubt it, but I thought I'd ask... Cuz a Small is huge on me generally and stuff so...

Needs that Ice car race shirt from the logo thread. Also, Hakumen shirt with his introduction speech. Or maybe a Hazama trollface shirt?

This >: or even if there is an extra small available somehow would be nice.

call me a bias dick but you gotta have a axis 720 ragequit shirt. that shit will sell man.

Me from the other thread. I guess I'll keep posting my crazies up when I have time to complete them. Got 1 Hakumen concept in the works. 1 Ragna Concept. 2 Bang concepts (1 currently working on). I'll see what other stupid stuff I can come up with.

Reposting mine from other thread:

My original Dustloop One

Kagatsuchi 500

Inferno Denied

All are pngs with transparency so might not all show up with some background colors (i.e. white, black, etc)

Just make a t-shirt that says "Hadoken, everyone and their grandma does it" with an old lady wave-motion canceling. Its pretty much the biggest gamer joke ever.

One big no-no is using in-game sprites. I want to avoid that as much as possible, because of the legal ramifications. So, if we're going to use any in game references, they will have to be redrawn to become original.

I will offer girl sizes if I can get enough for the minimum. American Apparel has female versions of their popular shirt, so I'll talk to my supplier once we're further along. :3

I'm still laughing at the Broke Blue shirt

Thank you. :D So far, it's not all that popular, but I'm glad someone enjoys it. :kitty:

I see. Guess no sprite anymore, just as I thought. There goes like 99% of what I was doing :v: Oh well. Whatever. I'll try something else.

Use a live trace, like Inkscape or Photoshop's vector trace tools so its not the original content.

This way its derived work, not original work.

Yea.... Like I've been doing for all the ones I've posted? Been doing photoshop vectors for all of them. Guess I'll still work on whatever, and print my own for my own amusement, not for distribution. A place around here does custom no limit print on 1 shirt for $21 dollars. $16 if I bring my own shirt to print on.

I had this design in my head for a while, but because my local printing company can't print anything that doesn't get erased in two months, you can have it. How about some fiery red BANGBANGBANGBANG text, as much as a T-Shirt can fit? You can also fit his character art somewhere, I guess. Or maybe his Drive symbol.

How about fat guy sizes? (3XL at least.) C'moooooooon.

Also, is this derivative enough to do a shirt with? I've been wanting that on a shirt/hoodie so bad. SO BAD.

Don't get discouraged so easily! This is the trick with creating art; how do you explain a concept in an original way, without using copyright protected pieces? There -are- ways. And the more clever and subtle you are, the better the shirt is.

This is an example of a completely original piece, and it's absolutely brilliant. It has some things that a shirt needs to be awesome.

- The idea is instantly translated to you, the viewer, in under a second.

- The style keeps to the rules of screen printing; which means that it can be printed without being extremely expensive. It only has about 7 ~ 9 colors used; while that is incredibly high for a standard piece, but it is still feasible. The less colors you use, the better off the design is, unless it just absolutely needs it.

It's really, really sketchy/legal grey area. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/10/arts/design/10fair.html is a good example of vectoring an original piece that may not offer any protection. The best option is to have an artist hand draw something, and vector that in a similar style to the original. If you can't draw, I can find someone who can. That's what being a business owner is all about; making things work, and hopefully not drown in debt. :kitty:

Triumvir already made a "FUURINKAZAN" shirt in his SF collection from last season (http://triumvirstore.3dcartstores.com/FURINKAZAN-TEE_p_314.html) . However, I don't think it had anything to do with Bang. This is an avenue we could certainly try to go down, because kanji makes for good design, generally. If you can get a calligrapher to do the characters with a lot of personality. :kitty:

American Apparel's #2001 (the standard for them) only goes up to 3XL, and I have no idea how they fit; it might be a bit snug compared to most 3XL's. However, I can probably get one printed if need be. And that design can be reworked into something original, yes.

Ultimately, we have to figure out one or two designs to clean up and make final. So, throw out crazy ideas that can be associated with Dustloop. If you have an idea for a specific style, post it up. However, I will try to offer as much advice as I can from what I understand of legal stuff, and from a design perspective.

Personally, I think the ice car idea is really good, and can be reworked into something fun and subtle. The one Circuitous posted is pretty cool too, but it needs to be remade from scratch to relate more to Dustloop. It would be more of a stylish grunge design in my mind.

Hmm, how about an image of a melting car? You can even add a little sun or something, to demonstrate that it's melting because it's made of ice, not because it's in a volcano... And you can also make the sun look like someone who Jin has a hard time with. I don't play Jin, so I don't have any particular idea about this one. Oh, and are you going to ship these abroad?

I definitely like the "Broken" shirt and I can't wait to see what other designs people come up with. I can't think up these things because I fail in all things art :[

Hey koogy, you said you know artists right? Well I have a couple ideas for a Hazama t-shirt that I was hoping you could run by them. One was to have one of Hazama's chain-snakes biting its tail-blade Ouroboros-style. The other one's a bit more elaborate and would have a snake made of chains with glowing green eyes coiled around Hazama's fedora with one of his flickblades in its mouth. I'll work on some sketches of these when I have time.

Well, I'm certainly no lawyer. I try to research the questions and ask my lawyer when I need to. :kitty: I have a personal interest in anything ouroboros related (not just Hazama), and I think the symbol is very good, and can be made into anything. Go ahead and do your sketches, I can't promise anything, but we can always refine it and possibly print a shirt with it! :D

Welp, back to throwing out everything I got planned.

Starting over again...

Hey hey, no emo stuff here. >:C Art is hard work! Just because it isn't 100% perfect the first time doesn't mean you can't just rework it a bit! Keep your head up, soldier~! :eng101:

Yeah, what about some variants of Tao face? It's not like it's copyrighted or anything, right?
