FAQ

Q:
Will the DUO console port work on Xbox 360 in regions other than NTSC-J?

A:
It's yet to be determined. We will see once the game is out.

Q:
Will DUO get a release outside Japan?

A:
None planned as of now.

Q:
Is Cuilan a girl?

A:
No.

Q:
How do I play this game? Where can I get started?

A:
Play the first version of the game, Senko no Ronde Rev. X (Marketed internationally as 'Wartech: Senko no Ronde'), readily available for Xbox 360 in the U.S. and Europe.

courtesy of dai jou bu on Shmups Forum.

*For stick users, note that the buttons cannot be mapped to a true arcade style due to lack of the A (Action) button in the console version of Rev. X.

Q: Does fighting game skills translate in this game?

A: Other than the mind-game element, no. The game is far closer to danmaku-style STG. Some equate it to a bird's-eye-view Virtual On.

I will try to add more contents in upcoming weeks, and would appreciate all help and tips, but let's start off by listing XBL gamer tags of those who have access to a Japanese 360 and will be interested in playing the game once it drops. If you don't have access to a Japanese 360 but still interested in the game, please go ahead and tell us your gamer tag as well, since there is still slight possibility that the game might work for 360 of other regions as well.

where do i go to tell g.rev to remember to flip the switch for region-free to on?

Posted

Pleeeeease be region free :vbang:

or somehow get a US port.

I like how the shots are more colorful in this one.

but what exactly is the purpose of there being 2 pilots on each side?

D.U.O has partner units (assists).

The console version will also have something called Commander Mode, in which the player will play as the assist unit and give orders to the main unit.

I will put up more of what I already know once I stop being lazy.

I got this game pre-ordered. I have the first one but no one to play against at all :(

What's your gamertag, etc. ?

I will add you to the first post.

I'm hoping a lot of people pick this up. It's a bummer to see really good games have no community.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news... but release date has just been pushed back to May 20. Rumor has it that Microsoft rejected couple of things during the final review before master-up, and that G.rev also found some problems with the netcode's lobby system.

I'm down. I use to play this hardcore a couple of years ago. Fun times. I was pretty high on rank too. Probaly Because of the lag, lol.

I forgot to post this thread done by laMP.

He breaks down the game very well. A very well put guide, it helped me alot back then, and I'm sure it will help others as well. I think this should be added to the OP.

Nice stuff. I will add it after I come home from work (or maybe during lunch if I can find time...).

Thanks for that!

As usual I'm pissed this isn't on PS3. :x

Would be a good opportunity to buy a Japanese 360. :p

I personally like the PS3 a lot more, but been playing more games on the 360 the past couple of months.

Updated first post with FAQ, character tier list and additional gamer tags.

The tier list is based on January 2010 issue of Arcadia (the last time I've seen tier list for DUO ver. 2.00 in the magazine).

It's the new revolution.

Sh'mups aren't allowed to come out on the PS3 anymore, so they are all coming out on 360.

I don't get my Triggerheart Accellica, Mushihime Futari, or Senko no Ronde. I very sad

STG never had a home on the PS3. It's always been a 360 thing. So although the market for 360 games is nearly dead in Japan, this type of game would probably sell better on the 360.

This game is looking really good, wish there was more to see though... It reminds me of this one shmup/fighter I played, Wartech I think it was called.
