HmR.kS Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 LoL Alright man. Fact is the stick belongs to my friend... Hehe. I'll have him to look over here ^_^ Thanks Combo Nachos Cheese!
Kayin Nasaki Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I just used some teflon tape on the threading. Worked great.
Dragonthorn Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Stupid question guys. What do players use in GG tourneys in the US and Japan? Sticks or ps2 controllers? And is button-mapping allowed? Thanks!
Hellmonkey Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 GG tourneys in Japan are on arcades cabinets, so Japanese joystick/button layout. Evo this year was on console, so people used their owns sticks as well as ps2 controllers. I believe button mapping was allowed.
shtkn Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 it was. they allowed button mapping that was facilitated in-game (like the 1 button RCs you can set in the key config screen), but no hardware macros (like programmable joysticks or using rapid-fire buttons on the HRAP) this was the first year evo allowed button mapping, and i think it's going to stay
Dragonthorn Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Ok thanks. I can't imagine pulling off FRC's without button mapping. And correct me if I'm wrong, but the arcade button notation is: K S HS P Re D Sorry, no arcades in my area got GGXX, and I am particularly new to this game. I have an arcade stick, and want to match the button placements exactly as you guys have it in EVO, and in Japan as well.
HmR.kS Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Yes that is correct but I have no idea what Re is for. If you mean Respect, then no. The respect/taunt button in arcades are the start buttons. =D
Dragonthorn Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Thanks. That was just a guess though. My button input goes somewhat like this: P S HS K Re D So I guess I will have to change the K and P buttons. Good to hear that the Respect button isn't there, because I press it by mistake sometimes with my layout. :P
Hellmonkey Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 There is no button there on Japanese guilty gear cabinets. Also, there is a scrub who used to live in California with your current button config
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I played with that layout for like 3 years. Sucked trying to switch off of it, I still fuck up some stuff now and then.
Aea Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 ^Frame data 19 frames inv. (the startup frames) and 2 frames more of grab inv.(I think). Pretty decent amount of time. Dang, I was off by one frame. (I thought it was 20). Thanks for the info!
Tage*Proto Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 don't know if this is a stupid question, but I was looking for a site that had the character quotes? Like, what each character says in a match??
Nekich Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 no, wait, there's another one fixed, now with attachment, 'cause there's 404 now
Tage*Proto Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 haha dammit, none of those have ABA's translations lol.....
Nekich Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 she's not that popular, alas... mostly depressive, throws out random proverbs or insults her enemy (well, Paracelsus does) - yeah, cheerfulness itself.
Tage*Proto Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 True, emo at its finest haha. Thanks for the help, i'll keep looking.
HmR.kS Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Hey, I have tried unscrewing all the screws behind the stick. But for some reason, the metal panel (the base of the stick), could not be opened. Anyone knows why? I am using the GGXX Stick, black and red, by Sammy. Thanks!
Most Unknown Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I know I should know better but...Whats IIRC?
dumbintel Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 What is a pilebunker? I thought it was one of Pot's command grabs. But i see it when people talk about slayer and everyone else. I searched for the word "pilebunker?" didn't find anything "pilebunker" on the other hand had too many outputs. Thanks in advance.
almond Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 New to GG and have some stupid questions. Are there any benefits in getting this slash for the ps2 other than practicing combos? Is the Ps2 version a perfect arcade port besides the 2 extra characters? Does the GG slash beat book have good info I could use for learning more about the game?
