[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Most Unknown replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
I'm trying to wrap my mind around the fact that there isn't news of other potential characters from XX. Zappa, Johnny, Order Sol to name a few are fan favorites...hell the entire cast has been played...Does anyone else share this thought that maybe with each "patch" they release another character or just release another character without patching anything...My brotha won't even play Xrd because Order Sol isn't in it. I wonder does the lack of other fan favorites hurts the reception of Xrd... -
WNB? When does that start and where do they play...?
-
I moved here from Missouri...Been here for 2 weeks and I've only played 1 person so far. Who else is good on games this week...?
-
FYI. I'll be moving to Charlotte the 2nd or 3rd week of January. I'm also apart of a few FB NC FGC groups. So I'll be looking for some competition in BBCP, +R and Persona. STL has like 6 to 8 people to play, so hopefully its more then that in NC...

Why is netplay such an issue...It actually hurts more then helps...On a individual basis, playing online is fine, but if you have a scene, its best to play them, instead of going online to play...

AC didn't have a "fuckton" of hitstun...Xrd has more then AC, but less then BB...so I assume its easier for noobs to combo off hit confirms in Xrd..After thinking about how the new RC tech works...I think FRC's will be for special moves just like the old games...while the YRC, PRC and regular RC's will be on whiff, normals, and moves that don't have FRC points...Can't wait to see some juice in Xrd... -

I was actually watching the other arcade cabinets in some of the vids and I did witness how the RC looks...that slow down doesn't even last that long, but I can see how it can be strategic...I just hope to see some real shit by the end of this loc test...I know its a test and all but all the vids showed people who was playing looking like they never played Guilty Gear before...Hopefully we can see some vids with a little juice in them...Appreciate the footage... -
Yea...that FRC on OHK is sick...More time on 6HS so V Dolph can connect easier means...More dizzy, damage and destroys...Triple threat May...

I like SM's post right there...I was really excited for AC to be online...but now I really don't bother with the online to much. I'll give it a second shot but its really difficult when you can't do basic combo's with someone like Sol and lose to someone who runs up throwing out jab and you can't get a VV out to punish them...smh. Major improvements if you want the legacy to live on when AC R drops...
-
*sigh* Imma give this online another shot... Promega Add me I'm a 7 year vet.

Really Guilty Gear is meant to be played off line really IMO. I just like that fact that I don't have to lug around a PS2 and Arcade Pro 2 now because of they put it in da 3. BB, Persona and AH3 are fine games played online...leave Guilty offline...Hell, most people that play the 3 games I mentioned said Guilty Gear is hard to play anyway...so why bother with noobs and online scrubs...How much is that gonna make the scene or your local scene grow...not much

I've seen DIE-CHAN and P3U do Ice Mirror into jB I believe that is. Which seems to be more reliable. Works best in the corner.
-
I see, so Naoto is the only discovered one?
-
Wait a minute...What glitch is being mentioned here...I'm not familiar with a "SMP" glitch in P4U...

It looks like what they tried to to was have May use more meters for combos for big damage...I like how they changed 6HS to be used more in combos which adds a sort of swag to the character. I personally would prefer to switch back to the Slash and Reload style May combos. Maybe thats what we'll have to switch back to which I'm fine with...
-
I dont know what to make of those changes...She seems more balanced I guess...?

I started to play May in Slash, so when I was learning her I didn't have the luxury of FB's and "Lame Loops" so I had to learn to charge buffer, Jump Install while charging because with out those Slash May was really ineffective. AC May is alot easier to play because her FB's puts the opponent when they need to be for her to get off combos. Slash May had to FRC 2 or 3 times in a combo, which is why I like Slash May better...but basically I had to learn May from the ground up because I was the only person in my city that wanted to learn the character and other players didn't have charge character experience. I had to learn on my own. So if you play May and your not charge buffering, or JI'in then to me your not playing May and you won't get very far...

I play BB unfortunately, so the reason why I referenced that game was because the time-frame for learning characters in that game is a lot less compared to Guilty...I don't know what level you play Guilty at, but I know it took me 6 months to understand the workings of May. A 2 week old May wouldn't have stood a chance against anybody. You've played Guilty for a year...I've played for 7 years so we have a huge gap in experience. If Arc is trying to shift the tops and bottoms of the tier list, then whatever I'll deal with a nerf May. Doesn't mean I have to like, I don't think she needed to be nerfed... The guy learning I-No on pad...? I'll have to see that, but giving thats a feat that even certain Guilty greats have a problem doing on stick, I'll probably think he sucks. CL (JI) FRC is something he's not doing on a regular.

I've been playing Guilty since before Reload. Yes I kno how to play Sol and he's not a difficult character...May is harder then Johnny...Ky and Sol are the shoto's of the game, your basically saying Guy is easier to play then Ken and Ryu. Back to my May point...Nobody especially a Blazblue player is not gonna pick up May and learn her in 3 weeks, so why nerf a character that isn't easy to play...May is not a "pick up and go" character like Sol, Ky Jam etc just to name a few. Hopefully the don't keep these changes on her because its not needed. I do believe that Arc is doing this to test the ability of seasoned May players, but thats something I was thinking about... I do encourage Johnny...I encourage people to play this game period...
-
Sol is just as easy as Ky. SW loops are spacing dependent...? I disagree with that whole post except about learning Johnny. My point is that May shouldn't be hit with a nerf bat due to the fact that she's not an easy character to play.

Its a shame that Lieutenant called out LK like that...and LK responds with a video. Tenants not that good anyway to be talkin all that ying-yang...
