since we're on the subject of converters anyways, just wanted to put out there that there is a lagless ps2 to 360 converter that laugh sells.

but anyways, i was wondering if anyone here could tell me if taking the art off of the hrap2sa is any different from the other hraps. i ask because the top panel is riveted in, but they can be removed with a hex key on the 2sa (something i don't see on any other hrap).

i would figure this out myself, but my toolset is being borrowed.

I hope this is the right place to ask but I've been having joystick problems since day one for 2D fighters (3D fighters I have no problem using stick at all especially VF) Now I kept at it and getting a lot better but still not as good as pad. The one major problem I have at the moment and it has always been a problem is "instant air dash to the right". That kills me all the time I can do it to the left easily with my thumb but doing it to the right is soo difficult. What are some recommendations on pulling off an instant air dash to the right would be with a stick? Example hand placement etc.. I dunno its quit difficult for me. My technique is to use mainly the index finger and my thumb, thats what I find most comfertable but hitting "9" really quick twice just won't work that way.

you dont hit 9 twice, you hit 956. I use forefinger + thumb to push it to 9 then release to 5 and quickly tap 6 using just my finger.

appreciate the post I'll test it out when I get home. all I've been doing lately is re-learning how to move. GG is such a fast game that you can easily mess up moves.

is the blazblue fight stick recommendable?

The Hori? No. Soldered Hori buttons. Hori buttons are mushy. Hori licensed sticks are always soldered.

I'm using the SE SFIV joystick and it works great. I modded it with Sanwa Parts and its perfectly fine.

I also have a 2nd joystick for friends when they come over and it works well too.

Good thing about the SE version is that it's a good introductory stick for a good price and if you ever want to get serious you can modd it easily.

If you're serious, just go all the way with a TE. It's a no brainer. A modded SE costs the same if not more than a TE (not including time and labor), whilst u lack the heftiness, build quality, and modding options (plexis are a big attraction) of a TE.

I started with an SE, then modded it to full Sanwa, then changed the art, and ended up wanting a TE in the end. My SE is currently a loaner stick. When you hold the two, there's just no comparison. On paper, sure, both are Sanwa, but you can tell when you feel it that the TE is serious business build quality wise compared to the SE. Only good thing I can think of a Sanwa'd SE is that it's more portable, so it's good if you're always on the go or for tournaments. But I dunno, I just feel that I can drop kick an SE and shatter it to pieces whereas a TE would shatter my toes.

Spend a ton now, or spend little by little and yearn for the better one later on and end up spending more. That's my take.

depending on which character you use, you can do 676 for a really low instant air dash. characters which have a 3F jump start-up can do this, but i think anyone with a jump start-up of 4F or higher is out of luck. (maybe you can do it with 4F but it's unreliable.)

check here for character jump start-up info.

I'm just working on learning how to perform basic moves correctly but the added info will help me down the road when I get better.

Thanks :)

Any good TE deals for Cyber Monday?

Haven't seen any yet, but I'd suggest keep checking on Amazon's price. They recently bumped the price down to $100 the other day, then back to $130 a couple hours later.

If you're in the West Coast, Fry's has them for $100. Everywhere else I know atm has them for $130+.

If you're in the San Diego area, someone in ebay is selling them new for $100 each with local pickup only, but advantage is no tax. It's whom I got my TE from back then.

I'm getting a lot better at doing it... really appreciate the help here.

I'm more consistent but I still make a few mistakes.. I'll have to practice harder lol.

but knowing the 956 was the key.

doing 676 wasn't bad but I found it a bit harder.

I have a question. When buying a stick, should I go for the octagonal gates or the square gates? I've heard that octagonal gates are easier and preferred for 360 motions, but I've also heard that square gates are the "standard."

I'm really new to sticks, I've never gone to an arcade with Guilty Gear or BlazBlue in it, and I have a few questions about the stick I'm using:

http://vpgames.com/p-1041-mayflash-ps2ps3pc-usb-fight-stick-arcade-joystick-for-playstation-2-3-and-pc-fighting-games.aspx?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Froogle&utm_campaign=PS2/PS3USBFIGHTINGSTICK&

-What's it mean when it says it supports button remapping? Is that any different from just changing what buttons do in the menu?

-Is it normal for the ball to come off the stick when I'm playing with it for more than one match? (I have to screw it back every time I get a break)

-Is it normal for certain buttons to not respond unless I hit them really hard right in the center?

-Is the button spacing normal? It feels like my hands are too small to use the stick properly, and I'm getting cramps in my right hand after using it for too long.

-Are there going to be any technical problems that I wouldn't immediately recognize because it's PS2 and USB compatible?

Thank you for your time.

I recommend you not get the stick. It's utter crap

If you want a good stick for the PS2 pick up a HRAP

For the Xbox or PS2 you can pick up the SFIV sticks as they are widely available.

Do not get the stick you linked us to its just not worth it unless you want to mod it yourself.

Edit: If you already own the stick then the only way to make it worth using is to mod it which will be difficult for those who aren't familiar with modding these sticks.

All the questions you ask above is "Yes" it is normal for those types of sticks to do that because its a piece of junk.

Normally with a high quality stick you will never experience any of that. Buttons are extremely sensitive which means you don't even need to press it but slightly tap it.The Ball top should never come off it should be screwed in tight. Buttons spacing can feel a little tight at times with sticks. I guess if your not use to it then it is actually a common thing.

I actually got the stick for free... guess I got what I paid for? So I should get the HRAP3 for PS3? A post on the previous page said that Hori buttons are "mushy" though, and the front page of this thread says that Hori sticks tend to break in a year or two.
