Prototype Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I knew I shouldn't have trusted IGN's review of X-Arcade, I guess I'll have to invest on a better stick once I get some cash.
IBJI Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Hmmm....Shazay, I haven't heard that name in two to three years at best and other familiar names here. The tournament Baiken player I take it?

NeoUmbra Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Wii stick is NOT, I repeat 'NOT', Guilty Gear friendly. You're better off getting a T5 stick :/ Whats wrong with the wii stick?, Mine is good for GG.
bucklemyshoe Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 T5 stick is NOT, I repeat 'NOT', Guilty Gear friendly. You're better off getting a different stick :/
Circuitous Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Anyone knows something about a company called "Asciiware"? I have one of their sticks and I find it kinda nice, it uses different type of buttons then the japanese sticks. oh i have one of their sticks, it looks like a PS1 I just picked one of these up for $4 at a local game shop, haha. Is it actually any good? I don't know good sticks from a hole in the wall, but it feels solid and I get good response out of the stick. Haven't tried using it seriously, but I don't play seriously to begin with so maybe it doesn't matter.
Tee ay eye Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 http://cgi.ebay.com/Namco-Arcade-Stick-PS1-PS2-PS3-Playstation-1-2-3_W0QQitemZ250321394693QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Ga%20mes_Accessories?hash=item250321394693 I'm new to GG, and I kinda want to try the game out on an arcade stick before investing a shitload of cash for one. This one happens to be in my city, and it doesn't look horrible, then again, I don't know anything about sticks. Do you think this would be a decent stick to use when being introduced to the game? Also, that ASCIIWare stick someone else mentioned intrigues me. Mainly because I'm cheap.
HolyBadSanta Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Pick this stick man, he s great, even in a stock way.
Shazay Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Do you think this would be a decent stick to use when being introduced to the game? Yes
thegame4ever Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Get that stick, and put sanwa parts in it, and you have a jap worthy stick.
Ashton Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Just finished this one the other day. Uses Happs competition buttons/stick.
Ashton Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Alright, arcade stick number 2 is now complete. I ditched the Morrigan background after staining the base the darker mahogany, since I didn't feel that green colors would really go well with it. Instead, we've got black buttons/stick featuring Noriko from Heavenly Sword. These images are before I put in the controller board, but after extensive testing I can say that it is working fine. :D
vedasisme Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m-49-en-70-2byy.html a reviewer says it's quite simple to mod, just wiring a stick is tricky. Go for it! I bought this stick about a month ago, it just recently had a problem where the buttons randomly stop working. I temporarily solved the problem by removing the bottom plate, but now even that doesn't work. Does anyone know if there is a way to manually fix the button plate or something?
Digital Watches Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hm... anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement top-plate for a HRAP? Mine got uh... bent.
Cadenza Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Namco Arcade Stick,JLF & PS14K. This looks pretty stylish, IMO.
vedasisme Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Really hoping someone could give me some help on with my issue on my joystick...it's 3 posts ago.
bucklemyshoe Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 HolyBadSanta, that stick is nice!!! Ashton, the Chun stick is very classy too. Anyone else see this? http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-a120-71-113-49-en-84-j-70-33u5.html Looks like it could benefit the whole 5 people that play GG on WII. lol Gosh I wish TvC wasn't WII exclusive.
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Really hoping someone could give me some help on with my issue on my joystick...it's 3 posts ago. Those things are mega cheapo sticks and probably the PCB is damaged, the cord is damaged, some buttons are damaged, or a combination of those. The good news is those are easy to mod, so you'll want to swap out the guts for some real Sanwa/Seimitsu parts and whatever PCB you want to throw in there. Hm... anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement top-plate for a HRAP? Mine got uh... bent. Find someone with a broken Tekken5 HRAP and see if that plate is the same size. You should be able to swap them, although you have to do some minor tweaks to get buttons to fit.
SIne Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I am thinking making "THE BIG SWITCH"....i am about to order a Hori Fighting Stick 2 does it have limitation as far as modding goes? like certain parts not fitting if you decide to order seimetsu buttons? what about if I choose not to mod and play with the base model..is it good? or does it need modding not to suck?
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Fighting Sticks are really nasty and you'll have to do a bit of modding to get your replacement stick in there. I have no idea if a Seimitsu sticks will work or not but Sanwa will. There's some threads on SRK about this actually.

You really should buy a cheap stick first. I bought a stick to play I-No on stick because everyone said it was easier (really it's not) and literally broke it again and again and again trying to figure out how to do 360's on the square gate. (most japanese sticks have) My point being, you should learn how to play I-No on stick before you spend on my on a stick to play I-No on. Otherwise you'll be wasting your money, and a good stick while you're at it.
SIne Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 yeah, but the HFS2 IS cheap....but apparenly is crap looks like I am better off getting a namco arcade stick, but where to find one?
bucklemyshoe Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 http://forums.shoryuken.com/index.php and i took your post wrong, i thought you wanted to buy a HRAP2 and mod it.
iora Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 in response to HFS2 i got one, i modded it, i lovers it small box ftw i modded it seimitsu too! the problems? it isnt just "throw it in, solder some stuff, and profit" if you go seimitsu HFS2: modding buttons (sanwa or seimitsu) = filing down lil metal tabs, 2 per button, and soldering new wires HFS2: modding in a seimitsu stick = patience, a dremel, cutting a good amount of plastic out from the inside, a power drill for new (and not hidden btw) screw holes, and soldering wires for the stick if you get a HFS2 in hopes of modding it... i severely suggest dont use a seimitsu stick, i like the feel of it... so i toughed it out (i gots all the tools i need too, so it was just labor) but i wouldnt recommend doin it to anyone else, just use the sanwa mentioned in teh SRK post regarding the HFS2
