Gunraidan Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Should I just get this stick and mod it with a better joystick and buttons? Anybody?
Hideki Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Do whatever you like. Personally I don't feel comfortable with that kind of stick. I'll rather buy a HRASP and mod it. PS: I heard that japanese joysticks are changing the microswitches to a magnet technology. Anyone knows if that kind of stuff is already operational in Japan?
DandyStepper Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I have a HRAP, but i wanna mod it to make it smaller/thinner(So I can fit in my book bag and not look like a ghostbuster) How does one go about doing that? (I mean the HRAP has so much empty unused space, which pisses me off)
Digital Watches Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Well, first off, that would involve actually physically modifying the case. I'd think it'd be easier to just get a custom.
DandyStepper Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Well, first off, that would involve actually physically modifying the case. I'd think it'd be easier to just get a custom. But im a broke "do it yourself"er But i see what you mean.
Zato-2 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I was thinking about modding this: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m-49-en-70-2byy.html Just wondering if anyone has tried this one before. Looking for some pointers.
Spirit Juice Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 ^I wouldn't get it since it's USB. Find a PS2 stick.
Zato-2 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I'm planning on using it for Melty Blood Plus it does say that it works on the ps2
Mayftw Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Should I just get this stick and mod it with a better joystick and buttons? Short answer - NO! Long answer - Don't bother unless you want to have an overhaul of the stick itself. The buttons can easily be replaced with OBSF-30 Sanwa parts and the PCB can be replaced with a generic PS2 pad (as long as you don't mind the buttons becoming exceedingly scrunched next to each other). But the stick is the problem. The Sanwa JLFs won't fit unless you find some creative and innovative way to fit it on. Simply put, if you don't have the experience, then don't mod it. There are better cases out there for you to use. If you want some pictures of how my stick got modded with the salubi, courtesy of Phaethon (gifted electronic engineer genius), then send me a PM. I'm planning on using it for Melty Blood Plus it does say that it works on the ps2 If you want competitive quality, then do not buy that USB stick. There are plenty of PS2 - USB converters out there for you to use.
Digital Watches Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 the PCB can be replaced with a generic PS2 pad (as long as you don't mind the buttons becoming exceedingly scrunched next to each other). Er... Why would that scrunch the buttons together?
Mayftw Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Er... Why would that scrunch the buttons together? sorry, i worded it incorrectly. D: i meant to say, "The buttons can easily be replaced with OBSN-30 Sanwa parts (as long as you don't mind the buttons becoming exceedingly scrunched next to each other)." Word of caution, OBSF-30 won't fit into the Saulubi unless you make the hole bigger...somehow.
king of heart Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 i want to switch to Sticks i have two sticks : a broken namco yellow stick and the T5 Anv .stick wich one should i mod to use?
Mayftw Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I don't know about the Namco, but the T5 stick will be a hard one to mod. From what I've heard, the PCB has been soldered onto the case...or the buttons...or both.
Digital Watches Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Go Namco. Lighter and allegedly easier to mod.
king of heart Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 i also think the modding the Namco is better becous: 1-the button arrangement in the Hrap 1 it does not match the ggxx 2-""Go Namco. Lighter and allegedly easier to mod."" 3-the stick in the Namco one is already broken
Necrosis Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Well if you want to mod one, yes the namco stick. but the T5 stick is more or less perfectly fine for a first stick anyway, IMO. Hell, it's pretty good even past that.
SDC Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I have the T5 stick, but I'm considering getting the Fighting Stick 3 for PS3, as I don't want to have to use an adapter and maybe deal with input lag or whatever when I start playing PS3 fighting games. Is it good for a $30 stick?
king of heart Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I have one and its ok for $30 stick but the only problem that it does not support ps2 games. by the way found this on SRK i think i will mod my namco that way any one have a hi res art for Sol doing his air dust?
king of heart Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 just wanted to ask people who use HRAP 1 or T5 sticks what button mapping do they use? and where is that Sol image?
Bonzai Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Though it maybe a 360 arcade stick, it still looks pretty awesome. http://kotaku.com/370639/neon-xbox-360-arcade-controller
Digital Watches Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 just wanted to ask people who use HRAP 1 or T5 sticks what button mapping do they use? and where is that Sol image? The standard is L1 K S H L2 P R D
PhaethonH Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 any one have a hi res art for Sol doing his air dust? quick-and-dirty: ttp://ggxlol.highervoltage.net/sol/index.html overkill sprite collection: http://www.guiltygear.ru/download.php?lang=en§=sprites IIRC, GGXX-series sprites are designed around a 256px * 256px tile; to get any higher resolution than these links would mean hand-drawing [vector graphics over the bitmaps].
king of heart Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 no i mean isn't there a pic from an art book or something?
Tage*Proto Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Sorry if this has already been asked, but I was looking for a reliable site to buy Seimitsu buttons from? Thanks.
