I've been looking for a stick recently and I found a couple on Play-Asia that could do, but first I decided to check with you guys to see if anyone has any experience with either.

Getting a stick custom made or getting a HRAP would be completely unfeasible, as shipping would almost double the cost of the item because of where I live. As well, if both those sticks are garbage, what would you recommend? Mind you, I'm trying to keep the price around $100.

Saulabi is not bad from what I heard. (Not becuase I'm Korean or anything. There are some people out there actually prefers Korean stick parts over Jap/US parts. It all comes down to your preference). Second one...doesn't look too good in my eyes...

well i need make a little question, i want a new stick and i am looking for someone to make it, Maybe i have one people that can make it, in spain. well the price that he offers is good, but i have a little problem i have listen that sanwa is the best of the best, for make it, but he told me that the color of the buttons that i want only are in seimitsu (buttons like glass) what is the diference? i have read in some websites that the seimitsu are more hard that sanwa

Different brands of buttons have different feels. Sanwas are one of the most sensitive buttons out there. Seimitsus are not as sensitive to the touch but they are still very good buttons. You should not have to worry about their quality. Thats about the only difference I can think of.

The best way I can describe it is that Sanwa buttons feel like you're doing almost nothing when you press the buttons down. Seimitsu feel like the buttons the HRAP comes with, except not shitty.

I have a quick question about joysticks in Japan. I know the deal about what kind of sticks and buttons are out there. But one thing I want to know is which restrictor gate do they use most often in arcades? I just bout a VHSG (Virtua Stick High Grade), which uses a Sanwa JLF and Sanwa OBSF-30 (?) buttons. Although I don't like the square gate since it's difficult for me to do circular motions on it. I bought an octagonal gate to replace it since circular one's only work with JLW's. So I guess what I'm asking is: What is the most frequent gate that's used in Japan either on Sanwa or Seimitsu?

...Comparing Sanwa and Seimitsu is like asking difference between Pepsi and Coke. Go with one you like. Square gate is the standard. Period.

Thanks for the clarification. I was about to edit my post and ask one more thing but you replied so quickly. This is kind of a broader question, but how do people make the glass/plastic cover for their custom sticks? I know that you can buy sheets and stuff... but how do you cut the holes for the buttons and such? Do you do it at home? Is it easy to do at home? A professional? Any help is appreciated.

Not trying to be rude, but by the way, I wasn't asking which was better between Sanwa and Seimitsu. Did you read my entire post?

EDIT: I just realized that you might have been responding to somebody else.

There are two type of gate. Square/Octagonal gate. Not shanwa and seimitsu. I was assuming you were asking which gate made by which manaufacture was better. Hmm, you can go to SRK forum and their trading post section. There, you will find tons of custom stick makers who will make a stick for you. If you have experience of working with woods/know how to use the tools, then you can go ahead make one for yourself too.

Ah, also there is 'post your stick' thread somewhere around here...People post their custom sticks, so you can go there and have a look. If you like certain custom stick, find out who made it and you are guarateed to find the custom stick maker in SRK forum unless it's just private made.

Sorry about the confusion. Like I said, there is also circular but it only works with Sanwa-JLW (which is less common if I recall correctly). I guess I was asking because I wanted to know if it was just me who had difficulty with the square gate.

I've been on SRK and yes, there is a lot of discussion on this topic. I'm not looking to completely build a stick, but just replace the plate on my VSHG. There is a little bit of discussion on the plate creation, but it's somewhat limited. I guess I'll dig deeper. Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry;; For English is my second language, I tend to misunderstand/or cause misunderstanding to people. Hope you find what you want. GL.
