I have a question about Sticks. I just received one and I'm trying to play fighting games with it (of course GG ^^) But IT'S TOO DAMN DIFFICULT ! I'm so frustrated when I can't even do a correct dragon punch ! So here's my question : for a noob on sticks, what kind of training do you suggest me ? How should I configure my inputs (for guilty gear) ? How should I handle my stick ? (hey don't get funny ideas...) What moves shall I practice ? In fact : Is there a "stick tutorial" somewhere to learn how to master the comands ? I'd be gratefull if you have any advice

Assuming 6 buttons + start and select: Start = Start, can't be changed Select = respect K S H P - D also, for training, just PRACTICE. It becomes second nature after a little while. It also helps to learn a new game to get used to stick.

I agree. that's why I started playing AC ONLY on stick. But although the RC are easier to do, I'm really troubled about the disposition of the keys. I do use the disposition you showed, but I keep mistaking dust with HS and K with P during the game... I also tried to change the config again, but it's no use... Do you have a "special training" in advice ? Something that could be of any help ?

training mode and practice i cant imagine a better way back on the old days when i first played tekken3 on arcades i felt the same way i couldnt even get a 236 motion but with the time (and money ofc) i got used without even noticing it!! the only advice i can give is to just go and play a lot with the stick go play survival m.o.m or vs cpu that way you will focus more on your enemy /setups /combos/defence and u will not think "how i am going to make the input for that move" think positive and stay focused on the match like oh he is going to defend low i need a tk yz or sth i hope i helped u

Is there another thread for asking about technical stuff? (Like how to fix certain parts). Anyway, I have a basic Namco stick (the grey one with yellow buttons) and... the "up" on the joystick won't work, in GG terms, I can't do 9,8, or 7. Is there a known way to fix this? I opened it up and I think the problem is with the wire connection to the main chip.

Anybody have any info about these sticks? They both seem like fair bargains in terms of a low-budget stick so would anyone know if there is something that I should watch out for or be aware of about these two and why I should/shouldn't get these sticks.

Seems like a silly question, but I'm aware that expensive sticks are usually more expensive for reasons other than the fact that they look prettier so I thought I'd be on the lookout for a catch when buying the cheaper ends of these kinds of things where quality can make a huge difference in how usable they are.

Anyone knows something about a company called "Asciiware"? I have one of their sticks and I find it kinda nice, it uses different type of buttons then the japanese sticks.

You can actually find an HRAP2 nowadays for $90, but the shipping is around $20-30. I use an HRAP2 and it's a really solid stick. I plan on getting a custom eventually though, if you think you're gonna get around $160+ dollars soon you can save up for them, plenty of good stick makers like Hahano, Jaxel, and Byrdo just to name a few.

i'm a pad player, actually, so no. (nothing to do with the stick; i kinda like it, except mine was used and the "3" direction is a bit weird, sometimes.)

Both are pretty much crap, sorry. The Hori Fighting Stick 2 is the worst stick I've seen come out of Hori.

What you've said doesn't tell me shit, if you post pictures or something that's a better start. Chances are though that if something is busted in your stick, you're going to have to replace the stick or the PCB. Either one will require a lot of work.

Yeah that's pretty much my current stick. :psyduck: I bought it out of desperation and it's cheap. After playing with this abit and then borrowing a sanwa custom stick, everything felt better in terms of inputs. Well you can still play well with this stick but the sanwa parts just makes it better.

Shit needs to get modded. :v: 1 of the buttons (X) is semi busted, so I have to reconfigure starting from L2.
