"The 236A things can use in air right? is it able to do in combo?

What happen if there is no diamonds when using the Yata no Kagami? Do no damage? Sounds terrible to get trap into it if the steins around..."

236A if you TK it, the projectile goes downwards instead of up. But the projectile is TERRIBAD. The only use I found for it is if Ragna is IAD'ing and you're like "lulz stop".

If you do YnK with no steiner, you do one shot only. That doesn't home in because it's busy trying to find a Steiner.

As for the trial combos, they are harder than they look. Timing for dash in combos is crazy. And a lot of those combos you can sub out damage to send them fullscreen for steiner by prematurely doing 2B 5C 6C 2D j.D 6D

Throw, 6A j.B j.C j.2C 2B 6A 2C j.C j.2C 2B 623C.

Throw 5C 2C j.C j.2C 2B 5C 2C j.C j.2C 2B 623C does more damage.

hurr hurr hurr mu's damage output seems pretty decent, but is it just me or does her drive 'stein gunner' seem pretty useless?

Should be only useful for zoning.

Her drive is very good vs certain characters.

Arakune can't jump with crystals in the right positions for explosives.

Jin's swords get broken by lasers. Yeah, even 236D. He can't zone her out.

Bang can't nails at all.

Hazama can't swing at all. Lasers knock him out of it all the time.

Litchi can't poke randomly anymore if you set up midscreen ones that you explode trigger them.

Three extremely important questions, at least in theory:

1. You said the Steins had a timer. Is there a way to vary this timer? By move, perhaps? If there is, can your opponent tell?

2. When it comes time to fire, will they fire even if Mu is getting hit?

3. How easy is it to hitconfirm and get in combos off of random cover fire hits from the Steins?

The reason for this is that I'm wondering if she can do what Snake does in Brawl - get opportunities for defense breaking off by charging in right as the Steins fire, especially if they can lead into crossups or low/overhead mixups or anything fancy like that. Even laser -> wallbounce specials should lead into decent damage if the opponent messes up at all.

So far, really liking how she plays...

1. Nope. I've found no way to delay lasers

2. Not the normal lasers no. But if you 236D and get the laser off before they hit you, the laser continues to home in on them.

3. Depends on how close you are to them. If you are close or midscreen comboing off of them is easy. Fullscreen, you have to pray they stay in hitstun long enough to 6C.

Personally though she seems so balanced I can clearly see that once her gameplay truly takes off she will be better than Nu and Lambda. I am not a Nu player but I do have a few theories in my head that I will be testing out when I get my hands on CS. I just have a feeling that she will be a lockdown queen and one that actually requires insane skill to play especially when it comes to crystal positioning. I actually like her but I just know the cheapy strategies will be found out soon enough. I can see her at this moment being dead last in the standngs of characters so far though. Just my thoughts.

The real question is going to be how technical she is - for now she'll be dead last because people have had what, 2 days to practice with her? When she gets a couple of weeks of solid development in we'll really see how much potential she has. One thing is that if we see her do more close range fighting with Stein support, she could be a very odd character to play against - even better if she can get the Steins offscreen. Time-delayed projectiles always open up strange opportunities.

But I think it's too early to call her better or worse than Lambda. I highly doubt she'll be better than Nu though - Nu was kinda ridiculous.

First post updated with the latest combos. GET HYPE :yaaay:

I'll be removing useless ones as we find the most practical BNBs. It seems omoikane's minimum damage is around 1500

Heroic_Legacy can't get online right now so I'm posting this for him:

Fatal Counter Combo: In corner 3c range, 63214C(charged) 6a 2c j.2c 2b 5c 6c 2d(jump cancel) j.b j.c (jump cancel) j.c j.2c then while falling set j.d and j.2d, then do j.B while falling, if hits go into 2b 3c corner loop, if blocked steiners make it safe, try overhead or back away and set more steiners. Apparently it does 5k and a 3k\5k reset if they don't block falling b.

silly combo:

4 5d steiners in same place over opponent in corner, 214d(wait) 5c 6c 2d (jump cancel) j.b j.c(jump cancel) j.c j.2c set steiners on way down, it does 5k and oki.

fatal counter combo:

in corner

6c 2b 6a 2c j.c j.2c 2b 5c 6c 632146C, 50 heat required.

I mostly updated the first post.

So after 214d I must assume the above combo would be the most practical one? (even with only one explosion)

Posted

Heroic_Legacy sez: There are probably other variations, but that seemed to be the most consistent since you end airborne and with 1 steiner set, with 1 explosion it's just under 3k.

Did you guys figure out what makes the steiners fire the blue laser instead of the gold one when deployed?

Posted

When you deploy a stein it fires a gold/yellow laser beam. Sometimes though, it fires a blue one that takes a primer off. I was wondering if you can just hold D or something to charge up the normal laser for the blue one.

Posted

Yes, that's true.

Since my copy will arrive in 3 days only, someone should tell you that before me.

In response to smch, Heroic says:

Like nu and lambda d has a followup. Double tap d for the blue primer break. Be warned, 2dd cant be jump canceled

Sorry guys, was forcing my slaves to post through MSN messenger on my phone since laptop went down for a bit. Back, everything they said is true.

Funny thing you can do in the corner after a corner combo ending in j.2C. Normally I'd end in air steiner. But if you have a steiner set in the corner, force tech with a 2B cancel to 214D. If they do anything but tech forward they are forced to block the explosion in the air. And you have enough time to 6A 2C them. And if they barrier to protect from AA, jump cancel 2C into j.2C instant overhead.

j.2C is safe unless instant blocked, so feel free to do it. Or you could rapid cancel the hit, causing Mu's after spin to go away and land before they can get out of blockstun and do a mixup. She's evil.

EDIT!!!

Lasers cannot cross up. =/

Now! To the lab for Midscreen stuff! (Later I'll actually look at the damage on those corner combos. I was a bit busy trying to land the combos and see when the steiners are firing.)

Matchup information:

Mu is free for Haku-Men. Nothing she can do will stop Haku. He can cut lasers, explosions, 6C, and Megalomania laser super. When the void shows up, Haku just hides there until the lasers are done. And Mu's normals aren't the fastest things in the game. And he can spam D during the bounce laser to just keep abusing invincibility so if you rush towards him you get grabbed and thrown by the counter.

Shit I love her.

Day 2 stuff. You never know the kind of loops we may find.

Look at CS Litchi. From bottom tier, then Itsuu loop was discovered, S tier now.
