XDest Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 They probably won't get rid of cat2's 5th hit minimum damage (496), and cat2's 6+ hits' minimum damage (235) because that's what gives damage to most of her stuff. Looks like AB2's 50% shadow is still in effect for minimum damage. - Starts at 5546 - 5546+496+248+235+118=6643 - 6643+496+248+235+118=7740 - 7740+496+248+235+118=8837 Comes out mostly to the correct answer, although the game's values were slightly different than the calculation for some odd reason (there were probably times in there where my AB2 hit and the shadow's didn't, and vice-versa, providing a slightly different calculation.)

Ronove Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Hope this hell won't be cancelled in the upcoming patch or whatever )) I think they'll probably tweak it, considering that hitting an opponent with 6C is not that unlikely (if you're punishing a tech roll or a distant airtech), dealing 6k off regular TL was already crazy good, dealing 8k is downright rediculous considering that it's not even an impractical ender. I guess we'll have to wait and see, I think ArcSys won't overlook this though. Tougeki SBO will be interesting to see if this will be used, I recall some japanese Taos already trying this a few months ago (around April).

They are very useful in a real match. PS: 1-2 taunted combos won't go anywhere anyway, so consider high-profile-starter combos potentially to cause even more damage.

Not true, 1 taunt + 5C ender will do ~3850. 2 taunts will do ~3950 (off 5B) Also, most of these are pretty universal. Except for the fact that 3C -> 5D~B -> 5C doesn't work on Tsubaki, Hazama or Litchi. But 3C -> 5D~B-> 22C is actually better anyways (provides 100 more damage + a longer combo, but it's more difficult to time)

RinHara5aki Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 help? Don't take what I say really seriously because I'm pretty much a scrub lol. I like your footsies and some of your hitconfirms. You at least know how to control Tao's movement, thats a start. But you BADLY need to work on your combo execution, drive cancel timing, and choice of combo's for damage. Like seriously, just "HIT UP DAT TRAININ MODE", experiment with some better combo's work on drive cancel combo's, you need to get damage, not a whole bunch of resets. On that note, if you spam 2a's and you get the hitconfirm into 3c, DON'T COMBO IT. More than likely it'll prorate so bad that they'll tech out waaaaay early, or it'll just do shitty damage. Instead just 5d~b (whiff) after, and use that as an oki position. Also I make the same mistake as you with abusing j.c's alot. Make use of j.b too! Its a great move for coming in vertical/crossups on your opponent :3 You dont have to tauntloop yet, just work on drive cancel combo's into FINISHED 236bbbbb~'s even if its basic stuff, its good to neutral/advantage the situation, rather than dropping the combo and getting punished because of it, just take this random hit I got as an example in that match http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL6oeXv13LA#t=02m13s , i just spammed 6a, but I didn't know it was gonna hitconfirm on the ground, I just went quickly into an easy easy combo into a fully finished cat2 to get out of the corner, rather than doing a complicated combo I would drop and then put me back in/near the corner. :3 Of course im an idiot and i still lost though lol. :P

I am starting to take more advantage of her j.c.now when i do that i j.c then 2.d-c 2.c-2,234ccccc I can loop but only get 4-5 reps at best. I do need to work on combos as well i know. getting 8k combos done to you by (jason mask and a black blanket) really fucking sucks when im doing 2700 at best =s The huge issue for me is, i need to see what someone is talking about in order to really understand what i should be doing in matches. I really appreciate the help man and i'll be practicing combos more and more now.
