pktazn Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Just like to point out that as of Phase 0, that's not actually correct. Though I don't really want to post any Phase 0 stuff here, I'm waiting until someone more qualified to translate it posts a thread for it. Uhhh well I didn't know that cuz when I replied the novel wasn't released. Good to know though... not really
sesame Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Uhhh well I didn't know that cuz when I replied the novel wasn't released. Good to know though... not really IM RAGE QUITTING ON THE STORY TOO AFTER I READ THE FIRST REVIEW OF THE NOVEL. WE HAD HOPE...... I HAD HOPE.. I .... WHATEVER. my thought after reading the summary/review ._.
sesame Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 have fun reading ... (i never said it's in English, sorry LOL) .. and translating someone's blog post feels weird. http://scared01.blog123.fc2.com/blog-entry-3204.html#more " konozamaになったので、急遽メイトで購入。
Emma Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Thanks. XD Works for me. From what I can read so far, Caelica = Sister?
InfinityClimax Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 From what i can make out of that summary, it basically reiterates alot of stuff we already know, heres the google translate, enjoy picking it apart. It was konozama, suddenly buy mate. It was more for us to buy three copies of the same story (laughs)! ! Time axis, so the truth of the mysterious beast black pause was about it. List of characters appear Playable Laguna, Rachel, Meng Hak, Varukenhain Sub Nine (Konoe), sister (Celica), Jubei (Mitsu Yoshi), Trinity Reriusu Only fiction Aya luck (his sister's magic guru) Jubei edge from Brad had to say about the flow of Laguna ... there was a person? Black beast was the passage? But such is the Ru .... Such as memory loss were not disclosed ... why that? Had to say where the church is also found in Laguna where black beast defeated. Laguna reunion Celica wait ... ('; ω; `) Terminus but, I use illustrations deaths Hmmmmm! ! The Good Men and Haku Varukenhain personally. Hak Men are not 100% but still sealed state, an intimidating inside Majiyabe Well ... hot global Tta Date. But that is Varukenhain pointy hair, cool to. Sooo good! Ah ... But Walter, what are you doing? Laguna is probably Ragna, Varukenhain is obviously valkenhyne, the rest are close enough to figure out.
InfinityClimax Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Thanks. XD Works for me. From what I can read so far, Caelica = Sister? that seems to be the case. I hope shit doesnt get too messed up (Ragna is his own father level of messed up....yeah) Personally, I am fine with everything so far, as long as they have a good reason for no one mentioning or knowing this up to this point.
harmless kitten Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 From what I can gather, when Ragna fell into the cauldron with Nu, he didn't merge with her. He actually ended up arriving at the year 2106 with memory loss. As it turns out Bloodedge was in fact Ragna. My reaction to this: ಠ_ಠ So, if Bloodedge was Ragna, then what was going on with Nu fusing with him? Did she just accidentally take Ragna's Azure Grimoire half instead of him? Not to mention in Hakumen's short story, the narrator seems to be Ragna, who has briefly awakened inside the Black Beast as it dies. Srsly now, Mori?
InfinityClimax Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 It was pretty obvious that Ragna was Bloodedge given CS story drawing so many similarities ("God only knows whos soul this actually is..." "I will fight.....as a human....Until the very end!") I just need to know how well they pull it off.
Emma Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Let's see if my shoddy Japanese can come in handy. 登場キャラのリスト プレイアブル ラグナ、レイチェル、ハクメン、ヴァルケンハイン サブ ナイン(コノエ)、シスター(セリカ)、獣兵衛(ヨシミツ)、トリニティ レリウス 小説のみ アヤツキ(魔導師姉妹の父) List of characters: Playable Ragna, Rachel, Hakumen, Valkenhayn Sub Nine (Konoe), Sister (Caelica), Jubei (Yoshimitsu), Trinity, Relius Novel only Ayatsuki (Sorceress sister's father) I hope that helps some. >:
InfinityClimax Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Now that I think about it, Hakumen probably doesnt remember. He says himself in both Rachels and his own story that the boundary still holds many of his his memories, and that his past is 'foggy' and full of holes. The biggest example I can remember is when Rachel is telling him about Noel and he says something along the lines of "Even though the boundary has taken many of my memories, I KNOW that I do not know that girl!" Arakune also says something to Hakumen about how his "perception of the past has deteriorated as well." That said, from the summaries and synopsis's i have read for phase 0, Bloodedge didnt interact that much with any of the heroes aside from Jubei. He was also the 'unsung hero' of the war. Not many people really knew about him, because at this part of the war, everyone was still hiding. Humanity didn't really fight back until the invention of Ars Magus, which came after his death, as we see in CS story. This also does not conflict with Hakumens short story either, or any other supplemental material with ragna being slain as the black beast. Why? Bloodedge isnt just 'killed' he is eaten and 'absorbed' by the Black Beast. They basically fuse anyways. After he died and Ars Magus was finished, the war began in earnest, and then the 6 heroes REALLY began to fight back, and Humanity was able to take the beast down. Then Terumi betrayed everyone. Its simple, you just got to remember the series of events.
Emma Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 To add to that, my friend has this to share: When Ragna and Nu fell into the Cauldron together, Jin didn’t see them fuse – he saw Nu, who was at her limit thanks to seithr overdose, absorb/fuse with Ragna’s false Azure Grimoire, and only that. While Ragna landed in 2106 with no memories, Nu landed in 2100, likely also without her memories – but just before she ended up there, the Grimoires completely devoured her, resulting in the creation of the Black Beast. After Ragna managed to stall it for a year (maybe the Black Beast/Nu still recognized him somehow?), ate and absorbed him, which is what made the Beast killable in the end; since injuring it would harm both Nu and Ragna and the same time, it was significantly easier to fatally injure both of them, fulfilling the life-link’s criteria of both halves of it being fatally injured at the same time in order for them to be able to die. Makes sense to me.
FormerlyUnknown Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 i think i get it now only question now is if ragna is bloodedge (safe to assume he is) then when he woke up in the past...did he have just one arm?...did he get someone to make him a new one?
InfinityClimax Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 To add to that, my friend has this to share: Makes sense to me. Awesome, so with this info in hand, I can only assume that Life Links in BB are very strong and permanent. Nu, when she returns, is going to either have to join the good guys, or her and Ragna both have to die in the end. Same with Noel and Hazama/Terumi. That said, I get the suspicion that Life Links are somehow related to the Boundary and if so, Bang may be the key and secret to Saving everyones ass in the end. (Imagines Custscene In BB3, Ragna is getting owned by Nu. "Futile, Life Link Established, I cannot die as long as you live. Now come together......FUSE!" Then bang appears out of nowhere and kicks her out of the way! Reppu starts playing in the background. He starts saying awesome things, pulls out his nail, impales Nu, destroying the life link, and then finishes by defeating her. Yeah, Bang saves the day......Only in my dreams..... )

Its simple, you just got to remember the series of events. Now THAT makes sense, I thought it was pure story rubbish and that BB story was turning into GG story. Doesn't seem to be the case now, so then one could say Ragna truly does have the capacity to surpass the 6 heroes, which he is already doing, he beat mu more or less single handedly. "When Ragna and Nu fell into the Cauldron together, Jin didn’t see them fuse – he saw Nu, who was at her limit thanks to seithr overdose, absorb/fuse with Ragna’s false Azure Grimoire, and only that. While Ragna landed in 2106 with no memories, Nu landed in 2100, likely also without her memories – but just before she ended up there, the Grimoires completely devoured her, resulting in the creation of the Black Beast. WOW now THAT makes a lot of sense, since in innocent black who is talking is without a doubt Ragna, but, he still has amnesia so naturally he doesn't understand why he is so black. This also explains why jubei has this need to redeem himself, he feels guilt for technically killing bloodedge, who is ragna, whom was absorbed into the black beast, making it killable because, the blackbeast absorbed the second half of its life link. That's fucked up... EDIT: New found respect for ragna now, he has the potential to be THE most powerful hero.
p-kun Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 It's been so obvious since the game first came out. Well, even if Hakumen had a hunch, maybe he couldn't confirm it until he saw the guy in person. It's just like how Jin never realized that Ragna the Bloodedge = Ragna, even though he had heard about the rebel for 2 years already. Until he saw the pic.
mAc Chaos Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 So... it seems Nine's sister had some relevance in the story beyond just taking care of them at the orphanage.
InfinityClimax Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 So... it seems Nine's sister had some relevance in the story beyond just taking care of them at the orphanage. Yeah, she seems to have a thing for Ragna, which makes shit kind of creepy........ I wouldnt be surprised if that relationship/concept was used as fodder for a joke ending in BB3
p-kun Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 If Ragna is his own predecessor, who is the original Bloodedge in the first timeloop then? This also proves that not all endings in CT happened in the past. The ending where Ragna completely fused with Nu and ate Noel alive before jumping into the cauldron cannot happen. Since this means that in the next time loop, there's no Bloodedge and the next timeloop's Ragna would be Ragna the plain vanilla instead of Ragna the Bloodedge.
Circuitous Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Of course it could happen. Look at the Black Beast that appears in Ragna's endings (a giant, lumbering beast composed primarily of mouth) with the ones shown in CS's prologue (city-sized beast with multiple heads). Everything that happened in CT couldn't happened during a loop. Even the shit that doesn't make sense - any of trillions of things could've changed to produce those results. It's entirely possible that in every timeline wherein Ragna never made it into the Cauldron, there simply was no Bloodedge in the resulting timeloop. The Black Beast would be defeated anyway. Before you respond with "Jubei said without Bloodedge's help...!" - maybe that's just how he felt after this loop. The only reason the time loops stopped is because this time, everything worked out. In every other loop, something went wrong - no Bloodedge, no Noel, weakened Black Beast, no Black Beast, wrong Heroes, Golden Tagers, etc. TL;DR: Time loops don't give a shit what you think.

I agree that without Bloodedge, the Black Beast would be defeated anyway. I was saying that without the existence of Bloodedge, the next Ragna would not be called Ragna the Bloodedge.
Circuitous Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Unless he just felt like taking the name. Or it's also the name of the sword. Or someone came up with a cool name for the otherwise-nameless Hero. Someone in the story had to originally come up with the name, be it Ragna, Jubei, Rachel, some random guy, whatever. Every time he didn't already have the name, someone came up with it. Just remember this: if all of this could have happened in the initial time loop with no prompting from that-which-had-already-existed, then it could easily happen again in any loop thereafter.
Alpha to Omega Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I think you misunderstood me. I agree that without Bloodedge, the Black Beast would be defeated anyway. I was saying that without the existence of Bloodedge, the next Ragna would not be called Ragna the Bloodedge. Rachel gives him that name. Rachel remembers all the loops. Therefore Rachel could still name him that even in the loops where there is no Bloodedge.
