A mod should reopen the KoFXI and SFAA threads in the doujin games sections because there is NOWHERE ELSE to talk about those games on this site outside of Match Finder.

Until another section is made, there really just isn't a place for them on Dust loop that is strategy related. Just change doujin to "other games" or something if you don't want to make an entirely new section. Not like we turn out in droves to play HnK anyhow.

I would personally agree with just leaving those threads open in the Doujin forum. It's not a major thing, just a few threads for a few hot random games. If it became a major talking point I would worry more.

How about on sites dedicated to those games? SRK, CyberFanatics etc? There are plenty of places for them.

Actually, she is doing an awesome job as a super-mod. I would say probably better than any other super-mod in recent times. She's cleaned an incredible amount of spam up on the forum and kept a close eye on what happens here on a day to day basis.

Just to be clear, every section is her section. She is a super-mod.

If you don't like the site, go to a different site. It's really quite simple. This site is not meant to be GCC part 2... where we covered a ton of games and the focus on GG became highly watered down. The site is actually receiving more care with her as a super-mod than it has in a long time.

There are plenty of sites that are much more comprehensive for non-GG related information. DustLoop is meant to be for GG and similar games (like most of the Doujin games and HnK). Everything else already has a solid community established and the information you can gain there is far more informative.

Honestly though I can't think of any site I'd want to go to for info on SNK shit. They pretty much all suck.

But I think the point is valid anyway. This is definitely not the place for Capcom stuff.

Hmmm regaurdless of your post being valid or not, the issue is dead. That is what i think Jamie is saying. So your posts about the situation are pretty dead now. Because The situation has reach a definite end. Trag has the final say. Trag Believes jamie is doing everything just fine, So there is no reason for ANYONE to be upset. If you have a problem, Take it up with trag. But the results of your problem wont change. So its a waste of time. Just trust that jamie is doing everything within the best interest of dustloop.com

Forgive me if I'm not an official Jamie Austin brownnoser like you, but there is plenty to be upset about in terms of her performance as mod/admin.

Closing a GOOD thread because it's in the wrong section when there are plenty of bad threads in the proper sections in need of moderating? Banning people who post good info for whatever reasons and leaving random trolls like SolxBadguy around to make some threads completely worthless?

I'm sure Jamie Austin has done some good things for the site but she's not perfect either. She's messed up plenty of times and if you automatically drop the case every time she gives some random explanation (or lack thereof) or just starts deleting and stopping valid discussion, then we're not the ones with the problem.

The fact that the admin/mod side of the "discussion" of this was Trag posting like twice and then the Mod-ess of GG deleting a bunch of posts says something about the supermod in question.

If Ms. "Goddess of GG" can't stand a little criticism and input from the community she's supposedly helping, then something is up. The fact that she can get away with it because Tragic is on her side just compounds things.

Dustloop is primarily a site for the GG community, right? Then maybe people should care more about the community and its interests rather than their own perceived ideas of those interests.

It is not JamieAustinFanClub.com, or at least I didn't think that was the intent, but I guess I've been wrong before.

I agree closing the thread is wrong, But there isnt a section for it either. So there has to be a balance somewhere. She only CLOSED the thread. She could have deleted the thread. And you guys would have been even MORE pissed off. Sometimes you have to look past silly shit to see what is actually going on. This is what my initial problem was with Jamie. I didnt see alot of what she actually was doing. Im sorry you believe that was "sucking up". Jamie almost NEVER explains herself to me or to anyone for that matter. So that statement goes invalid. Some choices she has made I would disagree with. But at the same time as you have said, NO one is perfect. Dont get upset with me because im not hopping on the"burn Jamie" bandwagon. Jamie cant do everything. She is trying to be a good mod. I dont see the harm in that. She deserves none of what you guys are giving her. If anything this only is making things worse. Just trust her. I do and its really hard to gain my trust. If me defending one of my best friends is me "sucking up" then I guess thats what it is then. :blue:. Give her a break. She's doing the best she can. CrimsonDisaster is one of the main contributors of actual, useful information on this site. I've seen him help countless people in several of the forums (Sol, HOS, Dizzy, Johnny, many of the doujin threads), not to mention him actually having gone to Japan and seeing tactics and top players in person; insulting his intelligence probably isn't a good thing seeing as this site needs all the good posters it can get.

More people think this way than you may imagine, and it's not because "we're not that bright". While -some- supermod activity is better than none, there have been too many things without an explanation happen at random. She said herself, in r0b0t's thread that her medication often renders her unstable and forces rash decisions. Someone under that kind of influence at any time of day shouldn't have so much control over everything, lest something is done that is really irrevokable. Of course, I know in the end that all this will be deleted and I'll just try to be content setting up things with my gang in match finder.

Look I'm no hater, the whole "let's all hate Jamie Austin's guts" deal is one of the many reasons I don't frequent SRK any more.

I trust the mods to do their jobs and do them well, but more than that I trust that they'll listen to feedback when people feel they aren't doing their job as well as they could be.

Well let me just say this before jamie was appointed supermod status I wanted there to be a few more supermods to look over the site. Now that jamie has been made supermod I don't care if we get any others or not. She is doing a great job and regularly taking care of all the little problems that were previously being left alone. By far and large the best moderatoor we have so stop talking trash about something you don't know the full story to.

I'd also like to know what exactly is making her a good mod besides being active? Can we really say this is a good thing because of the mistakes that just happened? Will these mistakes ever be corrected or fixed? Seriously, why was my post deleted?

If it was trag's idea of being locked in the first place, then why did it even last this long before it got locked? And if it was his idea, why didn't he, himself, lock the topic? I mean, he did have time to randomly go look into the Austin topic and notice the people complaining about the topics being locked, so why didn't he just lock it himself?

Quick version of what I wanted to post:

- if Trag wants to close/lock a thread, why can't he do it himself?

- if Jamie Austin isn't the one behind that decision, then maybe the mods need to be more upfront about what's going on because not everybody can see your hidden chatter.

- I at the very least don't care about blaming people or whatever, just waiting to see if there's going to be a place to talk other games or not. I'll even try to be civil and cooperate and stuff, provided there isn't a grounds to not act that way.
