I can't believe this is a real thing, but I'm having serious trouble getting 5B 6B to combo online, particularly out of the air. It's a pretty unusual consequence of the faster staffless normals, and I don't really know what to do about it because I can do it perfectly fine offline.

Really? I hope I can pick her up quickly, too.

all i did was the following:

1: look at litchi combo b4 extends release

2: use some thing from cs2 that still worked

3: experimented with my own stuff

and poof already 1/4 there with litchi (well in my opinion >.> <.< some may think im more than 1/4 of the way there)

Haven't done much studying leading up to this, TBH. Been watching streams, just taking notice of what it kinda looks like. It's hard to visualize the combos just by looking at the lists right now, and the guide doesn't look finished, so I've been avoiding it.

When I pick it up and play with her a bit, I'll probably come back nd start looking up nice stuff after getting the feel for things. Faster gatlings? I don't know if I like.

Yeah it's not so bad.

PS: I need new combos. Tried some new stuff on suggestion in stream but I feel so weird. So now I feel weird AND I'm bad at the game. :(

I think I played like...80 matches today? I don't know. Look it up yourselves. I lost all but 5.

Major focii today:

"Learned" ch 2C starter (this thing is stupid and I'll never land it in a real match because 2C is stupid, the combo is stupid because 2C is.) Somethign about Chuns being TKed. I don't know. 6B never hits.

Grab->dash5B->2C->4D I love the idea of 4D hitting shit but grabbing and dash5B is really grinding my ass. This combo is also stupid.

I can't get past challenge 6.

I also realized I can't play 360 pad nor can I play stick. we could play CS2 at NL and I'd still not be able to do rekkas or airdash.

I'm sleepy, now. This game sucks and it's like everyone's been playing it for 5 years since november 2011. wtf...

@Star uhh 2C CH you would be surprised at how you can catch people with it at times, also the grab combos I agree and disagree, it's for as much corner distance as possible though I can care less about them otherwise. Also just get more practice in.

2c[m] (though not really reliable) is a decent anti-air so lets say someone like tao, who is constantly in the air moving, their is a chance (yet small) of hitting her with 2c[m] thus getting a counter hit+combo (if u can react to it fast enough) so its not totally dumb, u can even use it in the start of a match to see if they try to mash something which will again result in a counter hit at the start. also remember its a bit on the slow side so if someone catches it just right they can jump over and hit you so don't be careless with it.

also listen to both me and Konflyk when we say PRACTICE, though you may say you do you cant just go in and try everything, try learning one combo, one you get the feel of that one and you KNOW FOR A FACT YOU CAN DO IT, then you can move on. one week later and im still practicing

in corner:

CH 6b[m] 6d hatsu haku chun haku hatsu reachii a a b d 6a (staff 2) 6d d chun (staff 2) 6d 3c 2d 6c (staff 2 during second hit of 6c) 6d 3c thirteen orphans oki

litchi feels so weird now fast in the wrong places, slow in the wrong places, lol. shell definitely take some getting used to.

star just have a little more confidence in your abilities and dont give up. its not about who's been playing the longest, its about who's the most serious about learning their character(s) and what they are willing to do to get better. sometimes it takes hours of frustration but everyone who wants to be good -must- go through it also, not just you.

the key phrase here is dont give up.

I can't connect the bold part, 6a>staff 2 went well but when I pressed 6d somehow they recovered faster than my 6d =\

I delayed the 5d before 6a, si that a problem? cause I can't connect the 6a without delaying the 5d

orz

thx b4

You should do a 6B feint after the 6A; it'll make connecting the rest easier. Just do 6A > 6B[hold B], then press and hold 6D as the staff hits so that the game's input buffer makes you do 6D as soon as you get your staff back.

I see, Ill try that, anyway, I still seem to miss time some of the moves, sometimes the staff just doesn't return to me fast enough to do 6d(i think)

are there any extra delays I should do besides the 5d before the 6a?

CH 6B[m] > 6D > Hatsu > Haku > Chun > Haku > Hatsu > RiichiA > IppatsuA > Tanki Hatsu > 5D (slight hold before release) > 6A > 6Bfeint > staff2 > 6D > 3C > 2D > dash 6C > 6D > 3C

There's a cleaner notation for you, make sure you delay 5D after Tanki Hatsu long enough so that your 6A doesn't whiff below the enemy.

thanks, idk why, it works for me but, i dont use 6bfeint, and the staff still connects after 6a

CSE landed here in the UK yesterday and I burned through almost all of the Litchi challenges in one go - they're super easy compared to the challenges in CS2. Litchi sure is bad now. Where is her damage and why do all her combos look retarded. Hitting someone with Chun just looks stupid, if they wanted to change how far the opponent flies back or whatever then fine (even though it results in MY MID-SCREEN DAMAGE :() but why does it make them spin like that?

I used to go in rooms and wail on people with long combos and lol at them raging at me, I can't see that happening any more now :(

What the Hell happened to Litchi.

litchi got more complex, insted of j.bcbing people to the corner, you have to work for your corner carry's. the staff has become more important in her combos, and she does do a LOT less damage, but that's not important. she still very fast and has powerful tools and pokes and oki to still annoy her opponents. trust me when i say she is still a good character, shes just going to need a bit more elbow grease than usual.

How is doing "a LOT less damage" not important? Isn't the goal of the game to do damage to your opponent?! I have to rapid cancel if I want to do the same mid-screen combo I liked to do before, the exact same combos I do in the corner do like 1k less damage. Also, thanks Arc for speeding up the general gatlings that really helps fighting online. What the Hell was the point in that anyway? Assholes

I do acknowledge that I'm just going through the initial rebalancing shock, but wow she just seems so horrible now compared to CS2. It's the only character in this game I've actually learned anyway so I guess I just have to deal with it haha.

sry let me rephrase that, yes damage is important but she is still doing decent damage (forgot too add that in) about 2.5-3k mid screen and 3.9k-4.9k in the corner is still good, but forcing you opponent to react and make mistakes makes it more complex than just do damage to the opponent, its not just getting damage in, its how you get it in and how you can get your opponent to react in hopes of them making a mistake. with oki like litchis, that's not hard to do, through loss of damage, she still has things to make up for it (hope that clears up the confusion of what i posted earlier)

besides in the end its all about how much fun you have with the character, not what they posses and what they dont. right ^_^
