If they have red names, that means they're like an alternate version. Generally legal and limited to just some cast members, Orochi C/Y/S, "EX" Kensou/Robert/Takuma) only illegal ones are like nightmare geese. He's the nightmare version of a fucking boss character, of course he's illegal. "EX" kensou/robert/takuma, and Orochi Chris/Yachiro/Shermie are simply different versions of the character, like Holy Order Sol as opposed to normal Sol. O. Shermie is more of a zoner, normal Shermie is more of a grappler. EX robert has charge moves. EX robert plays like a classic version of him. His rushdown ability isn't the same, but he works well off of assists still. He has new options in the air in terms of projectiles, but he's still a work in progress, but rest assured, he's not a complete departure how he was in MvC2. please everyone be broken please everyone be broken

KOF98UM has been on XBL since july 2009, albeit with shitty netcode. As for PSN, SNK supposedly hasn't been doing PSN stuff because sony was like "ur gay sprites aren't high res enough" and they were like "whatev, we'll just port on 360 then." However, apparently they're putting some neo geo stuff on PSN now, so maybe they'll get kof stuff on there. I don't like 2002UM but, I'm in fucking love with 98UM. Eh, why? Because of Extra Groove? Extra groove seemed very meh to me, and I don't see much reason otherwise to prefer 98. Eiji, Krauser, Mr. Big, Chizuru, Rugal, Saisyu, and Heavy D are cool, but IMO Maxima, Whip, K', Jhun Hoon, Lin, Vanessa, Ramon, Seth, Kula, Angel, Li Xiangfei, Hinako, Bao, Nameless, and May Lee are a much better group. plus, lol unblockable glitch edit: I texted a bunch of guys to make sure they're aware of the friday/saturday meetups. I just never really cared for it. 98UM is KoF to me. That is until XIII comes out. Also, unblockables aren't that big of a deal anyway.

The "groove" stuff doesn't seem interesting to me. 2002 aggravates me because its the same sprites from '97 in a 2002 game KOF2002 not updating sprites was meh, yeah, but it's not like KOF98UM updated the sprites either, lol Plus, KOF2002 MAX mode > KOF98 MAX mode. 98 max mode is just damage boost+super thing+more pushback, while 2002's lets you cancel on block into max, and lets you do more cancelling to make blockstrings and combos better, has similar advantages regarding supers, etc. On-whiff freecancels!
