Mightfo Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Nothins wrong with my xbox i just dont have the game silly there's a difference between "don't have a way to play" and "can't afford $10" ;p
cheebz Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 GG guys: In the top right, around 2:02, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LeiwjJx994 the sol airdash cancels a j.hs. I can't seem to do this..what's up with that? if you look closely he starts the j.HS at like, maximum height and the first hit whiffs. he's just really high in the air and has enough time to airdash like a troll after he misses his shit. fucking kusoru.
Ronin Jinobi Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 SLIGHTLY MORE HYPE FOR THIS Saw a quick flash of the best villain in that entire series(manga at least) in the opening animation deal. I'm probably gonna end up playing the hell out of that game when it comes out

Mightfo Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 Honestly dont wanna spend 10 dollas on something just 2 people are going to play. 1st check pretty much went on xmas stuff for everyone Ronin might play it too Maybe frigid too...? Dunno if he's aware of it, but he has a 360. PS did you get that video I pm'd you? also, putting this here just because it's a great post, regarding lamda's 236c Okay everyone, that's enough for now. Let's not shit up the thread anymore with the issue when the person has already said they are "happy now". Since no one has really talked in depth about it yet, I'd like to touch briefly on the issue to talk about why the move is actually bad not just in +/- or damage/potential gains, but in initiative gains. In BB, momentum is extremely important, and if you suddenly gain or lose momentum, you can lose the round quite easily. Think Carl or Ragna, once they really get going on you, you can only make one or two mistakes before you're dead. Not only that, but a "free", relatively risk-less reversal of momentum costs 50 meter to perform (Counter Assault). When you land a counter assault, you basically get out of pressure and you often end up in a better situation than before. This is why 236C is such a bad move. When you use 236C, you are basically throwing your opponent a free momentum shift, provided your opponent does is nothing stupid. Not only may he actually punish you on reaction or on block, but even if he just chooses to block, you are giving your opponent free momentum. Sure you might be able to mash back, or jump away, or backdash, but these are strategies based on hope, the hope that your opponent won't be able to successfully re-pressure you properly after you perform a move that potentially endangers your momentum. Believe me, hope is not a particularly strong way to win consistently at fighting games. Thus, when your 236C gets blocked, you may not lose at that moment due to the -4, but the oncoming pressure that occurs due to being forced to block or air block might just be what ends up forcing you to lose the round. For example, if your use 236C against Ragna, he will block, be at +4, you won't be able to jump away safely because his 8f 5B will easily prevent you from getting anywhere with your 4f jump. Lastly, there are a lot of momentum sacrificing moves that lead to big damage in BB. Jin's 6C is a prime example of this. It leads to huge damage and meter build on hit, and is cancelable into a variety of moves, but most of those options often seal away your momentum (ice swords) or are potentially unsafe (dping, dash canceling). By the way, near corner 236C [5c > 6c] x 3 doesn't need counterhit in CS1. It needs pretty strict spacing/timing consideration, but doesn't necessarily have to be a CH. It's cool if you didn't know, but let's try not to be a smart ass when attempting discussion/trying to get people to understand things they may not understand as well as we do. TL;DR Momentum is important in BB, 236C throws it away, so there's more cost/effect risk/reward than you think.
Mr Oso Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Just checked and yes. Thanks *Saves vids* i could use those. . . . in the future. . . . YAY im off 2morrow woot l33t sauce

Hopefully homework will let me go to this when that rolls around. Also AWW YEAH ARCANA HEART. That like triples the chances that I will pay the venue fee and go, along with the guarantee of starting pools on time. :P Edited December 22, 2010 by Mightfo

Ronin Jinobi Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 We should throw down some bones and get a room . . . . mightfo gets the floor But fo reals sounds like a plan if im not working:psyduck: fuck yes i'm down for the idea of room sharing. beats the piss out of driving to dallas and back from where i live XD also I'm more than likely gonna enter the mvc tourney and possibly the ssf4 tourney as well provided yang/ae shit comes out by that time >_>

Mightfo Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) OH GOD YESS So despite them saying Chaos Code would have an arcade release in december, there's been no news..until like yesterday. They're going to have a location test soon..and we have a batch of new, juicy footage!! I'm loving the speed/height of airdashes in the game moreso than any other fighter... More footage: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?5736-Chaos-Code&p=888861&viewfull=1#post888861 Has every character. Character pages: http://www.ccfkd.vgocities.net/Chaoscode/CC_character.html I think I will play either Hermes, Rui, Cthylla, or Kagari. I haven't watched all the new footage yet, though. Rundown of the game: -ASW is publishing the arcade version, so hopefully it is bound for a good console release eventually :3 It was originally planned as a PC game. -Double jump, airdash obviously -ABCD, buttons like kof, Light Punch Light Kick Heavy Punch Heavy Kick -Gatlings from A to B to C to D generally. -Has KOF rolls -Has a dizzy meter -Before each battle, you must "select your bounce", i.e. choose between the Step (dash) and Run abilities. The Step can be cancelled into (attack -> Step), thereby eliminating some recovery time, while the Run can be cancelled from (Run -> attack or High Jump), allowing a character to move in on the opponent more easily. -Next, you are given your choice of two Extra moves out of a total of four. Each character has two Extra special moves and two Extra Ultimate Chaos moves (Level 1 Super moves) to choose from. -Has EX moves -KOF esque ground ukemi it seems? Described as hitting roll right when you're about to touch the ground, so probably like in KOF. -Air teching -Alpha counter or a super armor attack or something?: Tactical Guard CD (requires half a stock of Chaos Gauge; can be done in the air) If your character absorbs an attack, he/she will automatically counterattack. -Guard Break Attack f+CD (requires one stock of Chaos Gauge) This move will break an opponent’s guard and can be cancelled into from normal moves. -EX special move special move motion +AC/BD (requires half a stock of Chaos Gauge) Not every special move has an EX version, and none of the Extra special moves does. -Exceed Chaos BC (requires three stocks of Chaos Gauge; can be cancelled into from normal and special moves) Upon the activation of Exceed Chaos, the Chaos Gauge begins to drain until it reaches zero. EC carries several benefits: 1) The dizzy meter empties instantly 2) Gradual life recovery 3) All attacks become cancellable 4) All moves which use Chaos Gauge consume a portion of the timer, the amount corresponding to their normal gauge cost (allowing for otherwise impossible combos, such as special move -> Chaos Cancel into Ultimate Chaos -> Chaos Shift into normal move -> Ultimate Chaos or EX special move…) This shit sounds/looks awesome. I think this could end up being up there as a favoooriitee of mine like Blazblue.(and potentially AH3) Edited December 22, 2010 by Mightfo
RaveSage Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Now there is a Major to go along with Texas Bar Fights called THE 'UPPER'-CUT TOURNAMENT Funny thing, I might be able to go to this. I guess now is as good a time as any to say this but after a lot of bs that's happened this week, I can't go to any meetups until they get hosted in "public areas." I could write a book on the reasons for this, so I'm not. So if I'll be doing anything, it'll be scouting for people to come to the meetups at least. Also, if I get a hold of the Umineko game we can do netplay. OH GOD YESS Chaos Code OH SHIT SKIRT MISSILES! (Celia) I'm defiantly in on this. Edited December 23, 2010 by RaveSage
cheebz Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 got bored today, decided to learn kusoru's signature [j.D > BR FRC] x 4, 100 tension, ~140 DMG troll-tier combo. keep your fingers on dat burst.
Ronin Jinobi Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 hot damn yun is actually pretty fun to play(3s yun i mean) also chaos code looks interesting, nothing I'd dive into too seriously but interesting enough for me to give it a try. sidenote: Tron Legacy was baller as fuck, I mean I might just be saying this because I'm into programming but holy shit it was good
Mightfo Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Ronin, I hope you're ready for bumper madness when we play soon. First some hype, then some mockery: More chaos code footage! YouTube - Chaos Code: Vein vs Cthylla YouTube - Chaos Code: Cerberus Black vs Catherine YouTube - Chaos Code: Rui Mishima vs Hikaru Otagi YouTube - Chaos Code: Hikaru Otagi vs Cthylla YouTube - Chaos Code: Hermes Gberardini vs Celia YouTube - Chaos Code: Bravo Peperonicine vs Cerberus Black YouTube - Chaos Code: Rui Mishima vs Kagari And now, some images dedicated to some very special failures on dustloop: (Nobody in this thread, of course. You guys own.) i'm sure something else would work better than advice dog but i was too lazy. get at me Edited December 23, 2010 by Mightfo
Ronin Jinobi Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) bumper madness sounds like a pinball game..I like it parker! that third advice dog was my personal favorite, too many gg posers on here these days :/ personally courage wolf is my favorite. Edited December 24, 2010 by Ronin Jinobi
Mightfo Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 courage wolf is good. also: chaos code announcer PHASE ONE SHAKE IT OUT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dw_ROd4VPM also linking this chaos code vid again(from the second recent batch) because cthylla is awesome and so is vein. pretty sure i'll play cthylla if it gets a console port. i guess ronin likes vein? i like his projectile a lot. also bob ross is in one of the stages. BOB ROSS CONFIRMED FOR CHAOS CODE also, jin is looking like my potential sub if ah3/umineko dont consume me too much..love being able to play defensively, and he has nice tricks, like airdashing after an air fireball, or gatling..ing an air move into j.d and then making it safe with an air fireball, or even IADing backwards into your back and then doing J.2c J.D and then air ice car to escape your punish!! I love air fireballs :3 but ah3/umineko/bumpers and frkz/wonderful tits hero will probably consume me too much to spend much time with him until spring/summer.
Mightfo Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) DOUBLE POSTING LIKE A PRO inspired by cthylla being awesome second image is inspired by an srk post cthylla is sort of how i wanted mu to be. getting pretty boner also one of her optional specials is like talbain/valk's energy attack dash (and yes i realize how hadoukens are strong because jumping is more of a commitment and chip damage is more serious.)
