I agree with Zong. This tourney basically invited the international players to come to the U.S. and compete in this tourney. I can see why some of the crowd was cheering for the US in the 5v5, but that is no reason to show disrespect to the international team. A community should always be respectful to its guests. To give an example, imagine going to visit a friend from Canada, and when you get there, you play a card game with your friend's family, and in the end when you end up losing instead of thanking you for coming, they laugh at your performance at the game and throw tea in your face. The crowd that was responsable for this needs to either change their attitudes at these events or go back to sitting around at home watching streams.

I hate how we do this shit to Japanese players at our tournaments.

It was the same at EVO when the JP melty players were playing top 8.

Hell it was that was anytime a JP player was playing. "/

The shit talk on Garu wasn't apparent on stream, did they shit talk on the level of SB? In MB teams at EVO everyone was just having a good time even when Garu lost.

Having a good time is a relative term. Some of those guys have this "good time" talkin trash to the opponents and hypin up they own team.

YOU CAN TAKE A MAN OUTA THE GHETTO BUT... You know..

It was just a bunch of USA USA which is perfectly fine, I mean that is where we are.

But the "you suck" "fuck japan" and "go back to japan" shit is uncalled for.

Like... we're lucky to have Japanese players come to our tournaments.

I don't get it.

But ehhh.

I'm some weaboo jp fanboy I guess.

Real talk I heard the only black guys there are the guys outside trying to see if you need a girl for the night..

Guess you can take the black guy out of the pimpin' but can't take the pimpin' out of the black guy.

You know all those people saying "fuck Daigo" at SB would go over to Japan to try to fuck Japanese women and play in Japanese arcades in a heartbeat if given the chance. Stay free, Stupid Retarded Kids.

Shit, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I wouldn't even say fuck daigo.

Hey guys, we're really sorry about not getting GG and BB much stream time.

Please stop blaming Spooky -- it was all our decision (Fugee and me) regarding what was going on the stream. Doing arcade this year killed us -- 3rd Strike on Friday took 4 hours to start because it took 4 hours to get the machines finally properly working, since we would fix one thing and another would break.

Mr. Biscuits, I respect what you're saying but you just keep saying that "Spooky was only hired to do Marvel and SSFIV". No -- we wanted to get everything we could on the stream like I've said since the beginning. The problem is ONE stream is not enough for a tournament like ours and now we know. We couldn't even stream arcade ST even though we had the equipment because Marvel had to go on early because some of the West Coast had to get on early evening planes, and yes Marvel is a signature SB event. That completely screwed the stream schedule on Sunday.

I'm really happy UMK3 was able to get set up.

If you guys think that a 94-man tournament (BB) was like some kind of afterthought to us, you're mistaken. That's a pot of $940 and it got more attendants than Marvel (about 85).

But bottom line is everyone wants their game streamed and to get attention and I feel that. 3s didn't get on even Sunday for loser's finals/GFs -- Spooky wanted MB on Friday and we couldn't do it -- ST was a $50 entry arcade tournament with a KILLER bracket and was meant to be a HUGE showcase for ST, like how people got into UMK3 after ECT2 this year, and it literally got ONE GAME streamed in the grand finals featuring the world's most famous fighting-game player versus an Ohioan, when I was hoping we could stream it most of Sunday morning.

Spooky was really awesome for us -- they respect the players and TOs alike, big games and the small games, and were willing to do everything we asked them to try.

I hope everyone coming out had a good time -- SB is just too big for one stream. This was our first year taking an active role in running the stream so Fugee and I learned a lot, and I know Spooky did as well. Obviously we care about the small games because why else did we throw in $300 for GG, a game that a lot of people consider to be dead?

If anyone took footage of GG (UMK3 and ST brought a tripod they used all weekend just for their games) please let me know and we can showcase it on our channel with all the other SB stuff. Thanks guys!

Most of the reaction toward Daigo was probably standard nationalistic bullshit, sure. For at least a few people it's about more than that, though.

There's a perception among some players that Daigo gets a lot of special treatment, and that leads them to strongly root against him. Arturo talked about this a bit on the stream, but there's more than just (allegedly) not wanting to play on the stream. I think it's a lot of conspiracy theory myself, but I'll try to at least explain where they're coming from...

Remember that, in Evo2k9, he got a bye all the way past pools for no reason other than "he's Daigo". Other players had to win national or at least regional tournaments to get those seeds; the only comparable tournament Daigo had won at that point was an SBO qualifier, and other SBO qualifiers didn't get auto-seeded. And it wasn't because he was a strong international player, either - so was Dan, and he still had to go through pools.

On top of that, Daigo had far and away the easiest bracket of anybody in the top 8. The strongest players he had to get through were UTJ (whom he destroyed) and that random Hong Kong Chun who almost beat him. Meanwhile, Dan had to win his pool and play Sin, Dr. Chaos, and Combofiend to make top 8. PR Rog had to win his pool and beat Floe + Valle + Marn. And so on.

In this year's Evo, they thankfully stopped giving byes past pools. However, Daigo still had an easier path to top 8 than the majority, with one of the softer pools and Lamerboi as his only close fight. Doesn't compare to Mike Ross's bracket, but about on par with Henry Cen's.

Combine all of this with the never-ending hype of Daigo, people calling him the greatest of all time (when he hasn't clearly been the best in Japan in a game since early Alpha 3), and so forth, and it shouldn't be too hard to understand why people would think Evo would try to protect him. I don't believe that one bit myself, but it makes some sense that others would.

Justin gets a lot of this same hate for a lot of the same reasons, FYI. If someone's heavily marketed, there's going to be a backlash against him and people will delight in his every failure. Happens every time, whether it's Justin & Daigo or Peyton Manning & Tom Brady.

I think Kamui Moon recorded everything on his setup in Saturday, including a lot of tournament matches. While I kept pestering Ghaleon to get GG/BB on the stream, what happened happened. I would like to see less complaining from stream zombies, the people who seem to never show up to tournaments. If you think streams are to show off 100% best play there is, you miss the point of why the fighting community even has gatherings in the first place. Streams are only a small part of what makes up tournaments now, and I think Ghaleon and Fugee did a great job allocating so many resources and to the GG and BB crowd. We could have not run the tournaments as smoothly as they went without these guys' support.

I would like to reiterate that Seasons Beatings has always been a great event besides a few incidents.

I'm not going to make a long post because I'm typing on a phone an I don't even know how much weight my post would hold but:

I enjoyed SB a great deal. I wasn't mad about GG or BB not getting streamed although I was the one that told biscuits about it as soon as I heard because it was funny. I know you guys (fugee an ghaleon) don't mean to fuck over amine games but they always seem to get fucked. And I know BB GG weren't the only games ao I'm not even holding you at fault. Just like... Try not to make promises you're not sure you can keep.

Again, I very much enjoyed SB and will probably attend the next one if I can. I don't care that anime games didn't get streamed, just that they were told they were then shit happened
