The UCI Thread - Orange County scene

Just wondering if there are people out there interested in sessioning here in the OC. I typically hold sessions at UCI for Super SF4 but lately we've been playing a lot of BB:CS and we're gonna continue to do so. We'd love to see more people come out and and also love to see the BB scene grow for the OC. Plus, we need more matchup experience, lol.

If there's enough hype or interest, I'm also willing to hold tourney events at UCI for BB:CS

Edit: If you're down for a tourney, please post and let me know. We've been wanting to host a CS tourney for a while, and if it seems we can get 16 or more people, I'm down to hold the tourney. Optimnally, I would love 32 people. Please let me know, and thanks for checking out this thread =D

Typically sessions are on Tues/Thurs from afternoon to evening. Held in the Social Science Trailers for now, seeing as Zot Zone is open randomly during the summer. We also hold sessions at people's houses, which are all close by to UCI. Typically those are weekend sessions. We tend to use facebook a lot (just about everyone has one, and they check it often, lol), so I usually create session/tournament events there, but I do also post events on SRK and also now, DL.

I go to UCI and am interested in learning BB:CS but have no new gen console. lol

I'm mostly a MBAA player though, so maybe I can bring a setup for that.

If you're having any big events, you might want to announce it on this thread too. Facebook doesn't let you see Facebook unless you sign up for Facebook. Which is a fine scheme for getting members, but it still can't defeat laziness. So keep in mind that Facebook is not openly viewable internet.

I've thought about that. And just leaving it blank. But it's still a lot of crap I'd have to fill out. But yeah, I'm not the only person either. I just wanted to remind people of the hilarity of "For full information, click here!" *click* *empty page*. Especially if they start trying to run a regional minor, or something.

For sure, I will do my best to keep this thread updates with events for sure. I understand not everyone has a facebook, which is also the reason why threads like this exist =)

Unfortunately, we only have 1 setup going. Which pretty much works out since as of late our sessions are small. I am however saving up to get another setup running. The main issue is lack of monitor. Everyone is willing to bring systems and sticks, but its the monitor that limits how many setups we have. Although for our tourney events, we're usually able to get mroe setups, about 2-3.

Well, most people play Super, but we're slowly getting people into BBCS. its prolly gonna be a learning scene for a while, with only a few of us that have been playing for a while. but yeah, UCI has got a scene, lol.
