Wow, amazing work! It's new, different, and a little awkward, just like the time you lose your virginity, but I love it!

Also it lives up to the truth of Noel. No matter what the camera angle, there is absolutely no way to completely see up her skirt.

Her breasts look like white chocolate chips

Either I made a horrible mistake or I've just hit upon a terrifying new fetish, or both.

Pointy boobs and umbrella skirt. Regardless, that's pretty unique style from others, in a very good way.

Whew, unique in a good way is the best I can hope for.

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan however, you do create it very well and it is nice seeing something different other than the more common stuff circulating in the fanart community.

I've almost gotten used to having a polarizing style. I've only been working in this one for nine or ten months. Maybe, if I keep posting, Stockholm Syndrome might someday make you like my work.

Wow, nice someone bringing something different to the table of BB fanarts

the style sorta reminds me of The Incredibles, but abit more abstract

I wanna see more :D

I love "The Incredibles" and I should be honored to have that comparison made. This was a sort of "one off" but I'll try to put together some more BB related work. I hesitate to take any requests but I'll entertain any suggestions. Nevertheless, I'm perniciously slothful in my work habits.

I suppose I should be even more honored to have something of mine compared to losing your virginity. On the subject of Noel's skirt, while I was working on it, a friend of mine told me to have the logical upskirt intact and simply put something called a "blockatiel" in the way. I ultimately decided my way was better, though.

After months of saving I finally got a new tablet :D

and probably gonna jump on the fanart bandwagon if I get to learn how to color ._.

Still pretty bad, but will get there

Progress....sort off...

Rough sketch complete, and still needs fixing >.>

Yeah I got too excited and made a quick sketch about 10 minutes worth ^^;

*The more I work on it the more I realize that making Ragna hold the wrong side of Bloodscythe was a bad idea >.>

Well dustloop, is been studying Diasuke's artstyle like crazy and I wanted to experiment with my prismacolors a little to try out something somewhat based on his artstyle. The picture itself is a little generic IMO, but it took all day to do and im mostly pleased with myself. Ill keep developing my artstyle based on what I did with this picture.

Study harder and learn basic anatomy.

This. Learning a real person's anatomy is infinitely more useful than copying someone else's artstyle. Hell, I LOVE Daisuke's art and it still has a lot of problems in it; he's just a much more skilled artist and knows how to cover it and make scenes dynamic.

Well see, heres the thing. I didn't try to "exactly" copy Daisuke's work, but rather get that whole "unrifined yet detailed" look that iv grown found of. Also, I really have been studying human anadamy as well, collecting all kinds of reference material like books and tutorials, but appearently I STILL suck at doing even that...

It takes time to get used to drawing human anatomy

Heck I'm still struggling with it, kinda like that Ragna sketch I posted a page back you can see some wrongs with what I did :/

Haven't even got time to outline it -_-

"Sigh", very true. I guess the only real way to improve as an artist is to keep drawing and observing until everything becomes second nature.

Every single day, every, single day.

I stopped drawing for 4~ months after finishing my major in Digital Illustration to do part time work, and it took almost 6 to regain what I lost.

We recently set up an official group for art lovers and artists over on deviantArt. The group is already populated with some exceptionally high quality fanart, official artwork and cosplays. You can check it all out absolutely free right here: http://blazblue-art-group.deviantart.com/gallery

We have just finished uploading some much requested asset packs to the group to help out any budding artists with BlazBlue related ideas in mind! http://blazblue-art-group.deviantart.com/gallery/27544599

The group will grow over time so be sure to keep checking back for some of the best BlazBlue artwork and fan creations you will ever see!

Because it really doesn't need its own thread, guys. It really doesn't.

It might just be this way with me but spending only five to fifteen minutes on a sketch isn't terribly helpful. I mean, it stands to reason that the more time you spend drawing the same thing, the more you learn how to best render said thing. Try redrawing the same picture three or four times, from scratch. It might seem unfathomably tedious but I'd like to see the result.

They are pretty good at awaken your inner creative self though, good way to get some inspirations (at least for me :3)

a few timed sketches can usually lead to something nice XD.

and yes redrawing is very helpful.

even just scrap old ones and re-do over and over again are good..

usually the final ones are soo much better than the earlier ones

"AWWW, WELL AIN'T DAT CUTE. BUT IT'S WRONG."

No seriously, quick sketches that only take 5-10 minutes is the best way to learn how the human figure works in movement and the proportions of it. For quick sketches, you SHOULDN'T be spending more than that on them anyway. Go to a site like Posemaniacs or something, and try drawing a bunch of figures in 5 minutes or less. It's not about detail or accuracy, it's about how you can learn the body and how it moves.

Okay but seriously, before Circ kills us all for talking about this, I've got an Art Critique thread on onehitcombo.net if you want to swing by and discuss this stuff. Probably a better place for it than the Blazblue fanart thread.

Daisuke used Copic markers.

Either way the anatomy does need work. But the colouring is quite nice

Really? I scoured the net like crazy to find out what Diasuke used for is art, hearing all sorts of stuff like painting, markers, pastels ect. At any rate before the mods go crazy, I humbly thank you guys for the critique and will surly use what you guys have given me. I promise the next one I do will be 10x better than this one. BTW, spend 4 hours this morning drawing and observing the human form.

Well tbh I tried that method by doing that Ragna sketch 2 pages back, and I get more frustrated than getting anywhere ;_;

And I remembered the advise I got and decided just that, and thanks to that I found I have a tendency in drawing upper half bodies than full body portraits :/

I'll just continue with this method till I'm satisfied with my work

*And on another note here's another round of sketches, which ranges from 10-20 minutes and you can guess which took the longest :P

http://i53.tinypic.com/eapa34.jpg I ran out of space so I gave up >.>

http://i56.tinypic.com/168smj7.jpg not sure if I should finish this

http://i56.tinypic.com/1tjuxz.jpg Carl quickie

http://i55.tinypic.com/2a53lg.jpg and Hotaru cosplaying as Dizzy (if you think this was Dizzy, well that's the joke :P )[not sure if GG or SNK fanart is allowed in BB fanart section :/ ]

and there'll be more soon till I'm satisfied :P

You should try finishing these sketches, arctus. It's a waste if you just dump them at the side and leave them forgotten. :<

Well just a bit more till I pick up which one I should finish ^^;

Drawing spontaneously is pretty fun right now ^-^

so maybe about 4-6 more sketches then I'll start....*sigh* looking at coloring tutorials is kind of a chore the first time I read them ^^;
