oh, that's true. i remember hearing the input buffer is a bit different from arcade, but if we're just prepping people for xiii then who cares.

on the other hand, there is that stigma of "ew, OLD games". at least we can pretend 98um's rebalance was for the better to get people to try it, lol.

oh shit, disclosing trade secrets in public!

if you're prepping for xiii, 02um is probably the way to go, actually. just that that game is harder than 98 is as far as learning and execution goes... though that's not saying much, kofs not very difficult once you get used to how the game reads inputs.

Posted

the 360 doesn't even have 02um yet. :(

and snk did announce not too long ago that they're gonna release shit on ps3 now, google it.

I'm not asking for anything unreasonable. I asked for people not to be huge assholes. If that's really un-askable, something is wrong.

Then show me.

I'm only coming down hard on you cause you are the face of the BB community. Think of this as tough love more than just me raging, but I do admit that I'm upset.

When I have a problem with someone keep it to myself? That's what got us here in the first place, several people were being loud, obnoxious problems that weren't keeping their preference in people/games to themselves. Don't be a hypocrite. But simultaneously, how can you support that? You're saying it's a good thing if the scenes just completely divided. That's terrible.

When you have a problem, call them out IRL. Bringing your personal preferences in a community-driven tournament will only make drama. It's not my problem to deal with everyone's distaste in obnoxious people. Either deal with it or tell them to shut up.

I said I'm done playing the nice-guy routine. I'm only telling the truth. We're human, deal with it. I would look at the BB community better if they had actually coordinated with the MB/GG community directly, yielded their stream to make more MB setups, see prominent vloggers yield their -spotlight- to give way for GG matches.

I saw BB and the GG/MB community split with two separate streams with the BB community exploiting GG/MB equipment. That tells me that that the BB community doesn't give a rats ass about the welfare of the Guilty and Melty communities. Instead, people just decide to criticize the face-of-GG-community by saying, 'SHTTALK IS STUPID!' That's purely subjective; if you hate shttalk, then tell the douchebag to STFU. How is that hard to understand? Now do you see why people, like Buzzsaw, are pissed off?

Show respect and give respect. If you can do that, then you'll get respect back.

Edit: To argue against this is saying that anyone who talks crap shouldn't belong in tournaments. That would be fine and dandy if this WASN'T A COMMUNITY EFFORT. The very fact that this is a community effort means that you have to deal with people's weaknesses and lack of social skills.

Posted

You're missing the point entirely, though. You're just demonizing the BB community. I have every desire to make everything work well, that's why I brought up the problem I saw in the first place. Also, I did in fact bring it up in person, with the person who was being rude. There was no change or apology, so I went higher with it. If it's truly unfixable, I'll just deal with it, but I have higher expectations for people than that.

I would love to talk to you and anyone else who has a problem in person, if you don't want to continue this online.

Seriously though, stop undercutting me on the respect card. I've shown nothing but respect, so stop it.

Let me tell you a little story about myself and why I am mad all the time. I'm mad because of my pathetic life as a guy who says he plays fighting games so people will think he's cool or some shit. All I've ever done is be bad at all these different fighting games, but hide behind the fact that if no one sees me play them, they can't possibly know that I'm bad.For all of my life all I've ever done is look for confrontation on the internet so I can let everyone know how great I am, or at least how great I think I am.

I started with the cvs2 community. I know how to spam crouch fierce with Sagat, so obviously im hot shit. After a couple years, the cvs2 community figured out how much of a gigantic faggot I am, even random guys over at the CC I go to know of my exploits as SRKs #1 faggot. My work was done for that game, clearly. Then came this game called Melty Blood. I remember it like it was yesterday, me slobbering all over Arlieth's cock so he could give me mod status on his forum. I ran some brackets using bracket maker on someone elses laptop, because I'm too poor to afford one, so I could validate my mod status and threaten people in real life with a ban on this forum. People in the Melty community warmed up to me at first, cause I mean I'm such a great guy right? I showed up to SJSU to play with those guys, and then when I lost I made up excuses about why I lost. I can't believe I even told them that I had arthritis in my hands and that I was quitting fighting games at one point! I don't get why they don't like me! Who can resist a guy who tries to argue with everyone in the internet?!?! I did all the things an upstanding person would do: argue with everyone who doesn't agree with you, tell everyone how much better you are at fighting games than them, yell at people trying to genuinely try and learn the game that ask questions, AND put yourself out there as a pedophile!

After all those things, those guys from SJSU couldn't accept me for the amazing person I am. One time that one AJ guy tried to screw me out of a ride that I told myself was mine. He said the car was full! That guy has an SUV, it could probably fit like 10 mexicans in the front portion alone! How dare he say that I couldn't have a ride, and on top of that I heard from someone else that he called me a faggot! Obviously what I had to do there was call my good buddy Arlieth! You know, he sounded pretty mad because he was on a date with his girlfriend, but thats okay because we're cool like that. I don't think I've ever spoken to AJ or any of the SJSU guys ever again, but I made sure to neg rep the shit out of that Dakanya fellow because his taste in food in unacceptable. Who recommends that peanuts place after the owner confused me for a fat ugly girl?!?! NOT ME

After burning my bridges with the SJSU guys, the only people I could turn to were the guys from SF or the guys in the East Bay! One day I got a ride back home from this one japanese guy. I decided to tell him of my exploits in the car and how great I was. I specifically told him that if anyone talked shit about me, I would totally hack their myspace and they would learn their place in the world because of it. I also told him about my Guilty Gear days. I told him I was the best Dizzy in America and that everyone knew who I was because I beat all of them. Then I explained to him how they messed her up and how much I hate Accent core. None of the complaining is because I'm terrible at fighting games and I have arthritis in my hands that comes and goes every single time I place last in a tournament, it's because the game is wrong and maybe a little bit because of the arthritis. I also tried out this arcana heart game, I figured if no one in America played this game, I could claim that I was the best at it! Unfortunately there were guys who actually wanted to play this game and invited me to a session for this game. In fact, there were about 3 sessions I was invited to. The guy that was supposed to give me a ride seemed cool, so I flaked on him all 3 sessions. I mean, could I really let these guys find out how bad I was at this game? Could I really let them find out the only reason for saying I was the best at this game was because nobody played it?! I don't think my ego or my reputation could have handled it in that garbage can!

Thankfully the new Melty Blood came out, and most of the guys that used to ridicule me and tell me how much a faggot I am quit playing! I could once again return as that guy that complains about everything, especially when I lose to some no name scrub. I also found this new forum I can be a part of because they don't understand how awesome I am: the fanime boards. After I lost my mod powers on melty bread because I yelled at people and threw shit fits for no reason, I needed a new place to tell everyone how much of a pedophile I was. So I found the fanime boards because my best friend crackpr0n aka pyron ikari was on there. His exploits almost match mine, but thats a story for another day! I begged and pleaded with the owner of the boards to let me be a mod on there since I lost my mod powers on melty bread. I even offered fellatio to him at no extra charge! After sucking large amounts of anime otaku cock, they made me a mod. Now I go around fellating my "friends" on the board. I say "friends" because this one time everyone was talking shit about my best friend pyron ikari. I didn't want to seem like the odd one out so I told them I also hated him, even though I totally suck his cock on the fanime boards.

Then I woke up because goddammit, I am not actually this pathetic.

Regardless of whether or not I am missing the point, that's the reality. The more important point is, 'Even if you had the best intentions to integrate the communities together, it didn't produce the right result.' You can't change what happened before, but learn from it. I'm just here to make sure that all three communities can be on solid terms with one another.

But I would agree that we should just sit down and discuss things

I'll admit I wasn't there this NCI, but it doesn't sound like a ton of shit went wrong.

BB got a ton of stream time, but I haven't heard anything about Magz/Tsubasa feeling ripped off or whatever because they helped get the BB stream going. Also, I know there was talk in the install thread about more stream time for gg/mb next NCI and it seemed everyone, BB peeps included, was cool with that. GG/mb did apparently end up getting its own stream going though it didn't seem very advertised, but realistically it should be 1 main stream with more time for each game anyway because that keeps everyone watching every game possibly and getting them interested perhaps in the other games at NCI.

GG players bitching about BB isn't anything new rofl. Fuck, Buzzsaw shittalked the fucking creator of Blazblue to his face so good luck getting him to back off about that at some ranbat. I agree with getting this shit out there in person though. I also think a lot of the GG community is just super bitter because BB is the 'new thing' from ArcSys instead of a new GG that Arc was never planning on making anyway and that BB is generally easier/different from GG. This resentment seriously needs to get fucking let go and we just need to try and teach more people GG because really, if you can play BB decently or SF4 decently you can at least play American GG decently. I'm not gonna say GG isn't the best fighter because I love that shit to death, but BBCS is a fine game in its own right and Arc is usually pretty good at tightening shit up. Half the cast in GG is more broken than anything in BB anyway lol.

So ya, more even streaming time, less bitter assholes preferably. Tao, you should probably get off Dacid and Chun's nuts because they seriously haven't done anything wrong that I can see unless Magz/Tsubasa (I think they were providing the stream help/stuff) come in here and say they felt used AND THEY LET THE BB GUYS KNOW AT NCI. Dacid is right that you can't fix or figure out problems if you don't know about them.

Also, if you see me I'm down to help anyone learn the basics of GG, though I'm not that great lol. Rod is pretty good with character specific stuff since he plays half the cast anyway. I can give tips on Anji at least. (Like don't play Anji!)

I'm just saying the truth and giving some real talk. Dacid and Chun had no intentions to make things go wrong, but important things have gone wrong and could be fixed for next time. Only time will tell if it can get followed through.

I also don't appreciate being baited into this discussion when my stance on it should be fairly clear so long as you aren't slowpoke.jpg.

Edit: And for the record, none of my equipment was damaged and Tsubasa damaged his own HDPVR.

What I wasn't a fan of though was how one-sided the stream, which Tsubasa and I delayed getting lunch for, was used.

I don't have qualms about IPW wanting to stream only BB casuals and finals of other games when they bring their own equipment and do all the work in regards to setup and what not. But the fact of the matter was that when not a soul in the BB community knows how to setup a stream and the equipment which was supposed to be utilized for all NCI games was 80+% used for a single game (which neither Tsubasa nor I even play mind you)

you would have to be a retard to think that was all "fine and dandy".

Well, I wasn't there so I didn't know if you had any problems with BB using the stream or if it was brought up. Apologies if you thought I was trying to bring you directly into the conversation instead of just trying to get a better idea of what was up.

And GG chars all being ridic is what balances the game so I wouldn't say that's a :|. =P

But we still haven't even been told what went wrong. There's a hundred different vague statements and no direct explanation of what went wrong. That's why there's still a problem. If there was damage to the streaming equipment, whoever fucked it up will be held liable. If we offended your mothers, we will get down on a knee and apologize. But until we know what happened, we can't tell your mother she's a classy lady. At all.

BB Community > MB/GG Community

That's okay. It's a big game, but what's not okay is this.

MB/GG Community bends over -> BB rams their popularity up the community ass and let them do whatever they want.

If you want proof, then look at the amount of GG/MB setups and stream time it had on the -main- stream site. You need to give Guilty and Melty the attention it deserves and THEN focus on the main event. If you want stream and recording setups that badly, then bring it yourself. If the MB/GG crew offers help, then extend a helping hand to them...like the stream not all be one-sided.

What I wasn't a fan of though was how one-sided the stream, which Tsubasa and I delayed getting lunch for, was used.

I just got off the phone with magz and Tsubasa.

First off, regardless if it was out of my hands or not, I apologize to the GG and MB community if it appeared that BlazBlue was made a priority during the stream. I made the assumption that the previous NCI format was more than enough to cover all scenes, and let the IPW stuff and the promise of the stream on BBVLog run its course. As a person that enjoys both the Melty Blood and Guilty Gear scene, I'll be amending the layout of the games to keep the area from being so segregated, and hopefully garner interest in the games. Ultimately the previous go was a test experiment and was re-arranged on-site to avoid the fire hazard issues and keep the tournament calling efficient. That way things don't seem so separated.

Also, I wish to express that although streaming for BlazBlue was appreciated, it's not required; if the GG and MB community wish to use the equipment for those games only, that is fine, as the BB community does owe it to the stream equipment providers for the ability to do so, and should be thankful for it. Big thanks to Tsubasa and magz for allowing the BB community to use the hardware for the stream and match recordings.

Otherwise, if there are any concerns or complaints from the people that were present the entire time, do feel free to post to me or below so I can work it out.

We are Norcal.

Dacid and Chun had no intentions to make things go wrong, but important things have gone wrong and could be fixed for next time. Only time will tell if it can get followed through.

For someone that didn't care at all about how it was run or planned, you sure act haughty when you hear one thing go wrong.
