There isn't a sadlife anime FG scene in santa cruz apart from fayk, meowmix and whatever roommates you find in the dorms. I was EXTREMELY fortunate to play against some very good JP Guilty Gear players (Kennyon, Nerina and Tamaki) which led me to get competitive with FGs and start some tournaments with my hallmates at UCSC. So you may find some really good competition. There is a street fighter community in santa cruz on the srk forums. When I used to live in the dorms, SSBM was THE game to play but I don't know how things have changed. Hey, I'm in SC and have been here on and off thanks to school and no one interested in playing here. I go to UCSC and live in a convenient spot in town with two sticks, a 360 and a copy of the game. PM me and we'll swap contact info and see if we can't get a little somethin' somethin' going on here. Also get a hold of Fayk. If I'm not mistaken, he plays up here too. Fair warning: I'm pretty bad since I haven't had time to play with work and school. But I'm tired of being the guy who dreams of being a sadlife fightan game dude and then never follows through with it. So I'll put in the effort and play time. I and a few other are attempting to go, but the place we are lodging at is full. So for those who want to go, I can help you find hotels and what not. You can also probably PM huey or C0r for more information about where to go. I will be in Lynnwood which is about 30 minutes from Seattle and about 1 or so away from Tacoma (which is where I believe they hold casuals) anyways, I'd suggest someone take lead as group organizer 2, to help coordinate hotel sharing, ride and expenses with the other people who wish to participate. Feel free to ask me questions and I can relay them to my friend in Lynnwood to help you find hotels in that area. Pm me or post in this thread if you have any questions, I'll try to get back to you as quickly as I can.
qwerty Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 hey sean (or anyone else interested in playing epyon): i discovered (well not really i'm sure someone else has figured it out i just haven't seen anyone do it yet lol) that if your opponent is near the corner and you heat rod oki them towards the corner (so if the corner is to their left, do 6B which hits right to left) you can boost cancel and follow up with a full combo.

Got homework I've been putting off all weekend. Some other time maybe? Off-off-topic: whatever happened to weekly gatherings at PapaJuice's place? It's totally cool if that's not happening, life gets in the way; I just wanna know if anything's happening. Anyone else in Sac playing these days? I need someone to play with.
