Hello, UBC Mahjong Club's president here. I'm here to tell you that your club's tv is still around our clubroom and we're wondering when you guys are picking it up. It is far past club's day and the other club we are sharing the room with is asking us if you guys are picking it up.

thanks,

David

So I went to X-Japan concert at QE Theatre. Suffice to say they were ridiculously good and Yoshiki is my hero.

Will: I'll try to contact Brian to see what's going on.

more like VU HAS A GIRLFRIEND HIGH FIVE!!!!

lol that host does vaguely look like Vu, though.

yeah i was actually referring to all of the preparations for the ceremony -- so far, it's been stuff with the location, the formal attire rental (especially on my wife's part), and the invitations, but I'm sure there'll be other stuff that pops up. (thx for the vote of confidence btw, ray!)

the actual "getting married" part is relatively simple, though. it was only mildly complicated because I'm a foreigner, so I had to go to the embassy here and sign a 独身宣誓供述書 ("affidavit of bachelorhood" or w/e it was actually called) in front of one of the higher-ups in the embassy and then have her sign it as a witness. Besides that, both my wife had to also get other witnesses for the marriage papers, but I got my supervisor, and my wife got her parents, so it was pretty trivial.

btw we're almost done with renting the clothing, so next up is making and sending invitations to the overseas guests. it'll be a relatively small reception, though, and kinda formal, but we're not quite sure about what to do. pictures slideshow seems pretty natural; there's the option of hiring entertainment but we're not sure what we really want. i don't want it to be too stiff, but at the same time, my wife's the youngest in her generation of her family tree, so all of her relatives are decently older than us and it might end up being fairly formal... anyways, we're still thinking about it.

oh you already knew they were gonna release it for PS3, Gabe? sneaky Gabu, holding out on his friends on like that~

speaking of computers, my laptop of 5-odd years finally broke down a few months back. (incidentally, my laptop was too old to be able to play ME1 and 2.) as it so happens, though, my supervisor had asked me to take care of the laptops that belong to "him" (or rather, his research lab) -- mostly basic stuff, like making sure software's up-to-date, that we have the right programs installed, etc. -- and one of the laptops is a nice new Sony VAIO, so I've been using that a bit more often because nobody really makes use of the laptops anyways (even though i think my supervisor gets grant money for his various projects?). it's Vista, in Japanese, with the Japanese keyboard, so it's a bit of a bother, but I'm learning to deal with it since i don't have much choice. anyways, at least ME works :) definitely gonna buy ME... 2 when it comes out for PS3, although maybe not right away. wait and see if there are any odd glitches that crop up because of the port.

Gabe knows many things. Like what the plot is going to be like in ME3, however if he told us, he'd have to kill us.

I guess it flew over my head that I was only one that knew that Vu had a girlfriend. Even Long didn't know until last weekend when I told him.

I suppose we can't have a bachelor party and go to the Redlight District in Japan when we're there since you're already legally married Stefan?

No reason we still can't.

Btw happy birthday Pete. Now I don't feel so bad for missing my dad's birthday. :psyduck:

Gabe also appears in the new Castlevania LoS; press B to perform QTE from Gabe's death neck breaker from BEHIND.

Speaking of Vampire Savior and hoarding, I'll go pick up more copies of the game + ram cart on eBay with ram cart. I do have a second Saturn as well (but it's American so I'll need to pick up a Action Replay Ram cart for that one), so dual Vampire Savior setups!

Although I only have the Astro panel, the custom sticks I'm having built will support Saturn as well, now whenever they get finished that is, which sadly is taking forever.

And I'll get to the RGB Scart to YUV Component setup for the Saturn as well so it'll look better on modern TVs. :D

I posted a youtube link previously that demonstrates this (with a Genesis, all Sega consoles from Master System to Dreamcast (though DC was mainly VGA), all support native RGB).

I can bring it again if people want, I mean my current setup on the next meet up.

Actually, Ray can you confirm if Castlevania LoS has dual audio? Not that it matters since the English voice work is soooo amazing (and it is), but the Japanese cast is also amazing as well (better than majority casts in general but not better than CV LoS' English cast for obvious reasons).
