Bolverk-GTM Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) Mind if I upload that one win? I probably should have saved that closer 2 char loss I had , but It slipped my mind. There'll be more. If it'll help you sleep tonight, I don't really mind. Everyone loses sometimes, no matter the circumstances. GGs regardless, that was an improvement on your part. I gotta actually practice and shit now...lol. Edited February 7, 2012 by Bolverk-GTM
Star-Demon Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 If it'll help you sleep tonight, I don't really mind. Everyone loses sometimes, no matter the circumstances. GGs regardless, that was an improvement on your part. I gotta actually practice and shit now...lol. Thanks - I wasn't sure if it was a fraudulent win - I'll have to get a closer loss sometime for good balance. I try to balance out wins and losses when uploading. I really like Mai - most maneuverable char I have, and I love that - I had a few times I ended up crossing up and blocking the wrong way through my own movements. Oops! I would love to master her corner game and air throws. That was so useful.
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) Thanks - I wasn't sure if it was a fraudulent win - I'll have to get a closer loss sometime for good balance. I try to balance out wins and losses when uploading. In such a good connection or in an offline match, there's no such thing as a fraudulent win unless there's some uncalled for interference (pushing a Home button, disconnecting a controller, some prick hitting you with a shoe, etc). No matter if it was human error or if the other player was just simply better, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. For me, it was human error and because of my human error, I'm motivated to practice. Simply put, it won't happen again. You have signed your death warrant. :P I really like Mai - most maneuverable char I have, and I love that - I had a few times I ended up crossing up and blocking the wrong way through my own movements. Oops! I would love to master her corner game and air throws. That was so useful. Yeah her air throw is really good, but I wouldn't make it a goal to rely on it. Mai doesn't want to be that close to someone in the air. You can use it to catch people jumping in unsafely or being bad at air footsies, but ideally you don't want to go for the air throw all of the time in air-to-air. The reason being because usually by the time you would get close enough to someone to air throw them at neutral, they've already hit you. For stuff like this, I use the term "usable, but not abusable" and that's precisely what it is. The air throw is good enough that I would recommend using it, but I wouldn't make it your primary air-to-air option. That's all I got really. Like I said, it was an improvement from you, but don't get ahead of yourself. I'll be ready for you next time. Edited February 7, 2012 by Bolverk-GTM
Star-Demon Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) onoz! No problem. I'm motivated to take some time for fundamentals, so you might see some different stuff while I lose for a while. Here's the match - going over it: Edited February 8, 2012 by Star-Demon
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) Oh yeah, this is that match where I kept getting the stupid fucking teleport instead of qcf.A. No idea how it happened, but lol human error and impatience that followed. Yeah not happening again. EDIT: I'm definitely not spacing, I'm being too predictable, and I'm being impatient in this match. Hmm... All of my old problems returned and I know exactly why. I can't afford that kind of stuff happening, this is KoF for god's sake. Alright, I'm done letting my talent sleep. Starting today, there's going to be nothing but putting people on blast. AyaImmortal Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 onoz! No problem. I'm motivated to take some time for fundamentals, so you might see some different stuff while I lose for a while. Here's the match - going over it: After watching 20 seconds of this match I already know what you need to work on. You stand around too much. You dont really punish anything either. Bolverk pretty much played like an idiot and ran into most of your moves. Your not very patient either as you burn meter for no reason whatsoever. When you land combos in this game you should be threatening a kill or something close to it. With vice, you need to take more risks, Punishing normally safe moves with command grab to get the oki. Slight walk forward after the command grab for potential cross up. As for bolverk-gtm: next time we play offline, im gonna kick your ass for hours until you stop playing like an idiot
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 As for bolverk-gtm: next time we play offline, im gonna kick your ass for hours until you stop playing like an idiot SkyKing is already working on that. I know what went wrong now and how to fix it. Don't worry, I'll be ready. Beating my problems out of me shouldn't take quite as long.
AyaImmortal Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Not a good online ass kicking. A good OFFLINE ass kicking. Key word being OFFLINE
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Not a good online ass kicking. A good OFFLINE ass kicking. Key word being OFFLINE Got it, lol. Hopefully Friday won't get snowed out because that's the only reason I wouldn't show up this week.
Star-Demon Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) After watching 20 seconds of this match I already know what you need to work on. After reading one sentence of this post I already know what follows will be incredibly vague, make no attempt to understand me or my game, and follow a tone that in no way helps me or gets me thinking and understanding unless I don't even need the help anymore - all while sounding more like a stream monster than a person I can learn from and want to actively listen to. I'm sorry, you were saying? You stand around too much. That's what you say. Others say, and have said that day, to stop jumping around and rushing like an idiot and be patient. What makes you right and them wrong and what makes you think I'm going to do better doing it your way? Why would I want to do something stupid? You dont really punish anything either. Maybe I don't know what is punishable and how to correctly and solidly punish. Bolverk pretty much played like an idiot and ran into most of your moves. Whoa! Shots fired! Anyway, what were we talking about? Your not very patient either as you burn meter for no reason whatsoever. But isn't that standing around? I'm confused. When you land combos in this game you should be threatening a kill or something close to it. Sounds really good. I'm still trying to get the experience to get a good confirm and punish, but if you want me to learn combos I can show you a training mode video. With vice, you need to take more risks, Punishing normally safe moves with command grab to get the oki. Slight walk forward after the command grab for potential cross up. This is the closest thing to advice you post contains. You give me a thing to DO, and now I can go and do it. To be honest, I don't completely understand anything except the last part. Also - You should watch for more than 20 seconds. I'm sure you are very good at this game, but you should still watch more than 20 seconds. You want to be listened to, right? I would love to listen to other and better players, but you totally just turned me off just for the sake of putting me on blast on the interwebs. Do you feel good? Was it worth looking like an asshole AND not being listened to? Please explain a little better. I have nothing to act on, given what you posted. You want me to do something, right? Yeah, I didn't get to do it fast enough, but I see that teleport and I go for 2b. I really hate getting nothing for sleeve. It infuriates me every time it happens, I go for something after sleeve and I get the sleeve and nothing happens.

I dont get my kicks from putting people on blast. I told you everything you needed to know in my post you CHOSE not to read what i said and took that as an attack. Your problem not mine. I dont care if you listen to the advice I gave you. I give it because other people can learn and not just the person who I'm refering to. Its obvious you didnt read my post closely because if you had, you would have noticed from the context of the post that I gave you vice advice, Which would have indicated that i had watched the whole match. Maybe you just saw what you wanted to see. I am an asshole, deal with it. Standing around is NOT the same as being patient. Your standing there because you dont know what to do with the time that nothing is going on. Not because your waiting for him to make a mistake. I know many people who stand around and yet dont actually know whats going on. That isnt patience, that is lack of knowledge. You arent creating openings to break through defenses such as using shorthops to cover the distance, Command grabbing up close more than just once, Using a poke string to bait a counter hit. When a player is patient it means they are not in a rush to get the job done under duress. You were never under duress so its kinda hard to be patient when nothing is going on. In that match I couldnt count the number of times GTM had you in a situation to combo into death and because he has shitty execution, wasn't able to do it. You also have little to no concept of your character range, You almost always too close or too far away. I highly suggest sitting in practice mode and learning the range of your moves so you have a far better understanding of what pokes to use in what situation. Vice and mature have very far crouching B's so i suggest learning how far they reach and how far they can confirm. If you choose not to listen to my advice, thats your problem, Continue to be a scrub and not improve your game. However, again, if you actually READ MY POST. I have the right to post and give my advice, Just like you have the right not to read anything that i say. Thats your choice. Only but so much i can tell you off of one match video but that pretty much sums it up. Do whatever you want with it. As for GTM: I know him IRL so what im saying isnt new. He has skills, he needs to be forced to use them. Plain and simple. My advice is harsh and so are my asswhoopings. He will probably be better than alot of people, he just isnt using the skills he knows he has =\ Edited February 9, 2012 by AyaImmortal
MikelAL93 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 First round of KOF XIII Climax changes, translated by The Professor from MMCafe: Shen - Shen will no longer receive a counter hit penalty when he’s hit during his Far C - Shen will gain some power meter when he bounces off anything stronger than an EX projectile with his Danken(Projectile parry) Ralf - Fixed issue where Ralf and Raiden’s positions will change and command has be input in reverse when doing Bareback Vulcan (DM) > MAX Cancel >NEOMAX Saiki - Fixed Normal throw so that it no longer raises the opponent’s meters. Benimaru - Fixed issue where doing cl.D>HD bypass will make the characters switch position when the opponent is facing back Billy - Took out invincibility on HD bypass Raiden - Changed damage on short hop & hyper hop C from 72 to 70 Flame Iori - Fixed issue where MAX canceling too late from normal Maiden Masher wouldn’t target lock the NEOMAX. - Changed input frames for canceling from Maiden Masher. - Fixed issue where repeatedly blocking low would display his standing block for a split moment. Hwa - Changed cr.B so that it can be HD bypassed.
Star-Demon Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) I dont get my kicks from putting people on blast. You seem to go out of your way to do it - I can't imagine it's for nothing. I told you everything you needed to know in my post you CHOSE not to read what i said and took that as an attack. Your problem not mine. I dont care if you listen to the advice I gave you. You did not. this time you had more detail though, thanks. Anyways, if you don't care, why'd you bother? If you don't care how people respond to what you say, and you don't care what you say, then don't be upset if they don't listen simply out of offense for your attitude towards them. Even if you are 110% right, you end up flushing it down the toilet. Its obvious you didnt read my post closely because if you had, you would have noticed from the context of the post that I gave you vice advice, Which would have indicated that i had watched the whole match. Maybe you just saw what you wanted to see. I read your entire post, but I wanted to make a very strong point that your tone and attitude suggests you don't want anything to really change when you interact with others. From my point of view, you simply don't want to be listened to - you just want to talk at people. I wouldn't be surprised if many people don't listen to you. Look how little you say you care. If you don't, why should I? I am an asshole, deal with it. That's Super. Keep on truckin'. Standing around is NOT the same as being patient. Your standing there because you dont know what to do with the time that nothing is going on. Not because your waiting for him to make a mistake. I know many people who stand around and yet dont actually know whats going on. That isnt patience, that is lack of knowledge. That's right. I'm a fraud. I have fooled everyone into thinking I know what I'm doing. Except you. You have seen my lies like a soaring hawk before descending from the clouds to catch a rat. I am exposed, sir. I don't actually know what to do when I play. You have saved Dustloop from my fraudulence. You are a hero. More shots fired! Man, you really must hate that guy. Anyways, I'm still learning and working on that. I AM a beginner at all that, you know. (You...you do know that, right?) You also have little to no concept of your character range, You almost always too close or too far away. I highly suggest sitting in practice mode and learning the range of your moves so you have a far better understanding of what pokes to use in what situation. Vice and mature have very far crouching B's so i suggest learning how far they reach and how far they can confirm. Will do. I would be more concerned my own interactions getting the results I want from people than my rights. As a former admin of a larger site than this one, I am absolutely sure that posting is not a right for anyone, and I was recently reminded of that by a few people. When people don't listen to you in real life, it's because you didn't have the skill or the care to make yourself clear or impress upon them that you, or what you have to say are worth listening to and more importantly, acting upon. No one in life is going to hop over all the way from their point A to your point B. You almost always must go over to them. Sometimes you have to build bridges, and it's not easy because of personalities, interests, and egos. It is most certainly your problem. I've encountered a good mix of personalities on the site in a short span of time. It does not take me long to know who to listen to and who not to listen to. Now - let me be clear about something: The fact I'm taking the time to explain this to you should tell you that I'm willing to listen, take advice, AND put time into you personally AND come over to your side in some ways, but I'm tool old to be putting up with typical gamer community garbage. Bolverk gets mad when I do something bad, Amadeous has put me on blast, threatened to axe me, but still gives me Jam advice and behaves well privately - but they've crossed the bridge, because I've crossed theirs, as well. As for GTM: I know him IRL so what im saying isnt new. He has skills, he needs to be forced to use them. Plain and simple. My advice is harsh and so are my asswhoopings. He will probably be better than alot of people, he just isnt using the skills he knows he has =\ It seems you have quite a strong personality and don't seem to have much problem with showing others show badly you are willing to treat the people you know. If he puts up with it, I give him credit, but I feel bad for him. That's not THE HEART or NAKAMA, for sure. So, I've tried to explain what I could, and as for the game - hey, I'm working on it. (it will take a long time.) I can only guess that either you expect me to not play until I'm good (which has been suggested by very active and vocal members here for most games, to be honest it sounds overly alpha.) or not post until I'm good. What you choose to do is, of course, your problem. Now, it's my problem if you don't understand well enough - if you have questions, go ahead and PM me if you don't understand what I'm talking about with the whole communication spiel. Actually, I still don't know what it is you want from me. I can identify a few things you want me to DO (I want to get better, so I will go do them when I can), but what you expect of me is entirely unclear... Edited February 9, 2012 by Star-Demon
Star-Demon Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I think Kula is adorable. I think Vice is hot.
natearistata Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 oh what, I thought Climax was just going to be making the arcade version the same as the console version D: hope we get patched too then
MikelAL93 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 oh what, I thought Climax was just going to be making the arcade version the same as the console version D: hope we get patched too then It might be like CS Extend, where us PS3/Xbox 360 owners had to wait till we get the full CS2 experience (We had a partial experience through a balance patch, PSP and 3DS owners get a full experience. Only problem? The PSP and 3DS versions were shit because they aren't arcade perfect (This is in my opinion, to be honest)). Honestly, I would laugh if a KOF XIII: Climax Extend (KOF XIII + Adel, Heidern, Shroom, Shion, and whoever else, plus further balance changes and new features) were to exist.
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Anyways, if you don't care, why'd you bother? The same reason why I bother. I like to give advice and talk fighting game stuff, whether somebody pays attention to it or not. I read your entire post, but I wanted to make a very strong point that your tone and attitude suggests you don't want anything to really change when you interact with others. From my point of view, you simply don't want to be listened to - you just want to talk at people. I don't see it. Then again, I know the guy in person. He's BRUTALLY honest, but he says everything in a calm and emphasizing tone. It's how you would usually talk when giving someone advice. I wouldn't be surprised if many people don't listen to you. I feel sorry for them if they don't... More shots fired! Man, you really must hate that guy. Not really. We wouldn't talk regularly or play offline casuals if that were the case. Where did this even come from...? I've encountered a good mix of personalities on the site in a short span of time. It does not take me long to know who to listen to and who not to listen to. and believe me. He's a person you SHOULD listen to. There's no way I'd be anything like I am now if I didn't listen to him. It seems you have quite a strong personality and don't seem to have much problem with showing others show badly you are willing to treat the people you know. If he puts up with it, I give him credit, but I feel bad for him. His bluntness is only in the form of words. The words don't bother me because they're right. Besides that, on more than enough occasions, I've noticed improvement in my gameplay from listening to him. If you don't believe how much of an improvement it can make, let's play tonight. I'll show you what I'm like in my prime after I read his post from the other day. Actually, I still don't know what it is you want from me. I can identify a few things you want me to DO (I want to get better, so I will go do them when I can), but what you expect of me is entirely unclear... He expects you to be able to look through his post, thoroughly, and take to mind every little bit that he is telling you. Look past his blunt and harsh wording because being bothered by that won't do you any good. Take what he's telling you, stop, and think to yourself what message he is truly attempting to deliver to you, because he is ALWAYS trying to deliver a constructive message. If he says "you're a fucking idiot" that would mean you should consider analyzing what your opponent is doing instead of running in blindly at them (like I did with you a couple of days ago). Or as he would put it: "Stop being an idiot." Basically, he's not gonna change the way he words his posts just for you. He hasn't done it for the past few years, so why should he stop now? Since he won't change the wording of his posts, instead you should look past that and absorb the constructive messages he's bluntly delivering to you. If you don't do that, you'll never learn anything from him and he won't stop delivering blunt statements to you because you're not improving at a noticeable rate. Okay, I've done all I can do really. He might have more stuff to add, but if you didn't read my post thoroughly, his words will just pour water on the grease fire.

Or as he would put it: "Stop being an idiot." I should go around telling everyone to "DO BETTER.", Then I'll be DEEP. I've already been told "DO BETTER" two years ago, and I've followed it as best I can. Two fucking years. It's not good enough, and I have nothing to show for it, and no matter what, there's just no progress with people that are at that level of attitude and play. There's no progress with them. They will ALWAYS treat you like that. Basically, he's not gonna change the way he words his posts just for you. He hasn't done it for the past few years, so why should he stop now? There are so many better ways to help people and get your message across. If "DO BETTER" is all I'm gonna get, then do not be surprised when It takes too long for you. I can see that you don't have patience for people that don't pick things up in time, I'm one of them. I'm not hardcore enough for you, and I can already tell I'll never earn an ounce of from you, even If I try very hard and exhaust myself. People like you guys are too tough to crack, and only then they just find ways to exclude and beat down on others that don't succeed. Fucking hardcore. This is like reliving fucking competition FPS. I'm too old for this high-school alpha male half-baked philosophy shit. You can have it. I would just rather discuss and learn - the people who have nothing better than "DO BETTER" to say can go bark it at noobs all they want. I like when shit is explained so there's no ambiguity or vagueness. No, I don't want to play you tonight, I'm too fucking tired, already salty from BB, and I'm not good enough to play you because you just get angry that I'm not making enough progress match to match with you. You win. I'm done. You have completely DE-motivated me from even wanting to fucking touch the game. I don't want to play with assholes. I don't want to play with people that are just going to fuck me around and bully me around, I don't want to play with people that just get madder at me when I don't instantly get what they are saying when I sometimes don't even understand what the fuck they are saying. I don't want to play with people that tell me to get lost from the community until I'm as good as them. I just want to play with some mature people that drop the Hardcore fucking attitude and leave it to the pro gamers. I'll go practice and play by myself until I'm good enough to post. I already see where this is headed. I'm not going to smash my face against the wall with people anymore. God fucking dammit. Edited February 10, 2012 by Star-Demon

Now, should I close this thread, delete you guy's posts, or ya'll just go back to the topic? :] This KOF13 game pisses me the fuck off and I don't know what the fuck anyone's talking about because I'm retarded or something. Topic re-railed.
furix Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 If it pisses you off, you have no business in this thread. So either stop complaining, or I give out some infractions.
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 *gasp* Furix does mod work? Furix is a mod??? Yooooo.... Nah I'm kidding. Anyways it's cool, man. Everything will be settled in PMs now. It has no business here.
