unlimited chars were banned because they are designed to be over the top, plain and simple

when makoto, valk and mu were console exclusive they were allowed, pretty much for the same reasons why the ex chars of kofxiii are allowed now

they arent op, they are balanced and add more value to the game

So, my older brother got me this game as a 2 month late birthday present. Still, it's the first game I've started to learn on arcade stick. I need to chose some characters though...

What's your general playstyle??? Most of the characters are capable of doing multiple things playstyle-wise, so if you're like command grabs for example, you have your pick between Benimaru, Elizabeth, Clark, Daimon, Vice, Athena, Takuma, and Yuri, but their playstyles are drastically different... The same goes with "fireball" characters-- alot of them have it, but they're all used very differently...

If this is your first time on the stick, I'd suggest learning Clark, Billy, Ryo, Ralf, Maxima, or Robert... Their moves aren't too hard to do, and they have fairly easy combos imo... There's probably a few other characters I could suggest, but these were the first to come to mind...

Oh yeah, Solidshark of DreamCancel.com is hosting an online tournament on March the 17th that's open to everybody, even if you're not apart of DC. More details are here:

btw, I love this game. I just suck terribly at it. Obviously people still play it luckily because it's a great game. I heard something about a team points system, and you can't exceed 6 Points or something. Main team atm is K'/Kula/Elisabeth.

That was with the arcade version, because K' and Raiden were too strong, and everybody else, while strong, took a huge amount of effort to beat the other 2 characters mentioned... That point system isn't needed for the console version, as everybody is fairly balanced and not OP...

Well, I started with Kula, Mai, and Yuri, but later took out Kula for Elisibeth. The best I've ever been at any fighting game was with Bang in BB, though I've really come to like my current team.

Currently got the game, mains are Billy, Mai and Yuri. So in this thread future games can also be discussed? Cause noticing that more and more classic Fatal Fury characters are being included. Dunno but Billy is missing a team, and think in the next title Duck King should be included, either in his original or Special or Real Bout clothes, dunno. Also, Iori's girls, weren't they supposed to be in canon dead? It's confusing.

Raiden and Hwa Jai are probably thinking on taking Kim out of their team, so probably Billy being the leader of the team might be possible, being the fact they were bosses on the original game before Geese Howard, who should also be included! Krauser and Big are epic, Boss Team on the next KOF.

Dunno but after this, wondering if they'll add yet another new team, which would be quite...predictable and also dunno, they have Kyo's team, Terry's team, Ryo's team, K's team, Iori's team, Leona Ikari's team, Athena and Kim's team, they're mainly leaving no room to new teams in my opinion.

In XI Duck had his Real Bout outfit. It would only make sense to continue tradition of using signature outfits (except for Kyo because SNK considers him a Ken doll).

Any advice for doing Vice's SLam->AIr super ? It's the hype stuff right now and pretty useful as long as you have meter.

NM I got it - this character is now amazing.

NM I got it - this character is now amazing.

You have to do the input as soon as you start to recover from the slam move... You can buffer it also--- I've managed to do that when I practice with her...

Anyone here a fan of Juicebox's commentary while this game is being played?

I find it annoyingly horrible all he does is shout the names of the popular characters movelist as theyre being done on screen

I thought the last patch was supposed to fix the online play of Kof13 it somewhat did but its still bad

KOF XIII: Climax release date revealed.

The release date for KOF XIII Climax has been set, according to Japanese arcade industry news blog “Aketan”. The initial release on April 26 will be a PCB bundle, followed by June with an HDD-only kit. The production will be limited to 200 units.

An early leak of the news was made by KOF XIII Tougeki/SBO2010 winner “Oeppu”, in which he revealed that the units will be sold at 390,000 yen and 250,000 yen, respectively.

What will the future hold for KOF XIII Console? We will just have to wait and see in the coming weeks I guess...

Nothing will happen...

Climax is just the revision given to the original arcade release that was ported to consoles and now release to the arcade scene with all characters unlocked

A few changes that were translated by The Professor @ MMCafe:

Shen

- Shen will no longer receive a counter hit penalty when he’s hit during his Far C

- Shen will gain some power meter when he bounces off anything stronger than an EX projectile with his Danken(Projectile parry)

Ralf

- Fixed issue where Ralf and Raiden’s positions will change and command has be input in reverse when doing Bareback Vulcan (DM) > MAX Cancel >NEOMAX

Saiki

- Fixed Normal throw so that it no longer raises the opponent’s meters.

Benimaru

- Fixed issue where doing cl.D>HD bypass will make the characters switch position when the opponent is facing back

Billy

- Took out invincibility on HD bypass

Raiden

- Changed damage on short hop & hyper hop C from 72 to 70

Flame Iori

- Fixed issue where MAX canceling too late from normal Maiden Masher wouldn’t target lock the NEOMAX.

- Changed input frames for canceling from Maiden Masher.

- Fixed issue where repeatedly blocking low would display his standing block for a split moment.

Hwa

- Changed cr.B so that it can be HD bypassed.

Im pretty sure there is where this was grabbed from, With those changes i think i a simple game update will do not a new on disc release i hope its like CS2
