[CS1-CSE] Road to Ikaruga - The Bang Social thread - Do you even 3c?

I need help! : (

I have absolutely no idea what I should be doing in a match. I don't know what I should be using to approach, what I should do on wakeup (I get hit even though I'm blocking so I think I'm doing something wrong), or what mix-ups are good. Someone tell how to not suck.

just curious... why would anyone from the BANG forum tell you that?

Because the Bang frame data guide link used to say "See Makoto" lol

Oh my godly placeholder.

Zano, the first you need to do is relax yourself and not got frustrated.

Approach is via Dnails or air dash Anails, as well as good old fashioned walking and running.

Practice blocking on wakeup. You can record the computer in training mode to help. Learn what moves are overhead, and try to read grabs (which obviously you can't block)

My guide has some mixups to help you get started. Experiment and create your own after you get comfortable.

he also has 2 airdashes for all the haters to see.

are bumpers beginner friendly? in terms of basic movement.

Too many character are godlike at anti-air or air-air sadly for a solo airdash approach to work at neutral in CS2.

Bumpers I really wouldn't say are beginner friendly, working with D or A nails makes life easier. Bumpers are used more for chasing and setups rather than approach, Carl generally being the exception.

If you're getting anti aired, poison nail dash beats every anti air in the game, I'd highly recommend it for approach.

One thing Bang does better than any other character is get in. He can't play -phenomenal- footsies, but his approach is legendary.

And throwing bumpers helps approach even if you don't use them. Just the threat of the 8 way dash makes people confused.

Only if they're in a place where you can actually make use of them. Putting a B/TK C bumper in corner is a good way to make your opponent want to mash. It's an easy way to reset pressure/bait mashing too, just set it after a corner knockdown/623B and then blockstring > 2B JC then either 4-dash block (bait reversal/mashing), 6-dash j.C (overhead) or 2/3-dash 2A (low). Also on Tager you can do 2B j.C bumper dash and have it connect, which is pretty lulz.

Bang's footsies = tk 623B.

If it counterhits, 5k damage+

Dora too godlike

The combo he did was crazy and I really doubt anyone else will do that combo in a real match.

And that's almost a legit strat. against Noel cause she has so few primers, her normals don't have much range, and her D moves have a good bit of startup. Keyword being almost.

Dora is in fact amazing.

Nah, you can do that. It's very doable...

no you can't, tk 623B is actually punishable.

you can do it againist people who don't try to punish you.

new 623B fatal combo that only works midscreen. (have to be near them)

FC 623B dash delay 5B 6C delay j4C jC bnail dash 5A (explosion) 5C 6D 623B

i saw dora attempt it multiple times but couldnt do it, so last night kid viper and i tried to figure it out.

doesn't work on arakune, but you can use on the same timing for the combo on everybody

here is video of the combo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfEMCskSDF0

Yeah I worked on it last night.

You can do it off of the following counterhits midscreen

5D, 2D, 6D, 623B, tk623B, 2C, 3C

With 2C and 6D you just do dash 2B 6C and the rest of the combo. Others are 5B 6C.

corner you can do 5C fatal into the corner combo.

But yeah, the hardest parts of the combo for people wanting to learn is that the delay jump after 6C is VERY slight AND the dash 5A is very fast. Reminds me of the days where you could do the old bumper combos, like the 2C 214B dash 2A links. But you can buffer the dash in.

I tried to punish the lowest TK623B with Noel 5A, but Bang could block it and/or 6D, so it's not all that punishable. Also it's pretty good for staggers but whiffs against some people like Tao crouching. It's also low enough to fuck up Noel drive mashing.

The combo is so silly, and props to Dora for actually doing it on that scrawny Noel hitbox.

it is punishable on iB or slightly higher from lowest tk

and also the combo is universal on everybody but arakune

It works on Arakune, just can't do anything after the 6D unless you're in the corner. But 6D oki is pretty good.

Also Dora is using a trick to get lowest possible. It's still really hard, but I'm trying to figure it out. I'm doing some shit like clockwise 360 starting from 3. counter-clockwise when on p2 side
