4r5 Posted August 29, 2010 Author Posted August 29, 2010 So I'm bring my Chaos Breaker setup. Who is going to bring the other?
zeth07 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I decided that I'm gonna bring a BB:CS (PS3) setup to this after all, and hopefully get a tournament going. -Asus VH236H Monitor -60GB PS3 -I have Makoto + Mu unlocked for what it's worth -2 Sixaxis controllers (still BYOC if it isn't obvious) -Surge protector / outlets thing Not sure about the other details and how they want to run things with it. If we can't run a tournament then hopefully Matt Coma is there so I can at least get some practice with someone who plays the game somewhat.
bmore303 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 With that said I guess I need to finally call out of work and make my way up there for once.
DoomieJ Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 There was ct at one ranbat. The one i went to. Everyone stopped wanting to play because LK was there. bwahahaha. Good luck though guys.
4r5 Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 ? this is by umbc?? This is all sorts of by UMBC. This is so close to UMBC that all the people who use to play fighting games at UMBC now play at Xanadu. We talking 5 min drive. You could probably manage 15 minutes on a bike.
Zero000 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 BMX it there. I can bring another setup if needed.
Reioumu Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 So I'm bring my Chaos Breaker setup. Who is going to bring the other? Xanadu has one, why don't we use that?
4r5 Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 cause Tekken players and SF players tend to not bring their own stuff
MisterBadguy Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 CS? Oh shiiiii... I'll try my best. Possibly bringing an Ara player too. He's not awesome or anything, but bodies is bodies.
Nobus3r1 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 *checks calender* Saturday. This'll work. I will try to make it up for this. I may see if the one BB:CS player I know near me wants to go as I don't think he drives. edit: I can also bring a couple of fightpads (1xSF4 Madcatz Fightpad and 1xHori Fighting Commander 3) if anyone wants me to.
dragontamer Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I've got a couple of newbie level friends. I'll see if they can make it. I'll do my best to make it as well.
MisterBadguy Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Heh, this'll be the first time well all play each other off line. Good shit.
Alex073088 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 With that said I guess I need to finally call out of work and make my way up there for once. sup man i didnt know you got on dustloop also...
Alex073088 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 ill be there for sure, were playing offline yesterday it was just honestly two consistent players myself and a tager player i brought off xboxlive, a jin and a ragna(zerp) cam by for a little bit though also. offline is soooo much better then playing on laggy cs netcode. ct lagg was kool but i dont know wtf happened to cs's netcode.
zeth07 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Alright I have some questions since I've never been to Xanadu and don't know how they are running things: What time will the place actually be open? Because I've never been there and don't exactly know how to get there, I planned to leave my house a little early to make sure I'm there on time, plus I probably need some time to setup the stuff. With the potential BB:CS tournament not actually being "official" for Xanadu, how exactly would I be running it in terms of doing the sign-ups / bracket / entry fees (if any)? Or am I just going to be handling everything myself however I see fit? Are all the tournaments being played simultaneously? If so how do you guys usually handle the problem of someone needing to play one match while already in the middle of another, people just need to wait? I'm asking these questions now so I know what's up when I get there.
4r5 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 The store should be open at noon for sure. Maybe earlier, but I dunno. I've never been there earlier then noon. Being an "official" tournament doesn't mean much. Last month, GGAC didn't happen. I'm not sure if MBAA happened either. And MvC2 and 3s are pretty much 100% player operated. Since your the guy making BB happen, it'll be on you. If you need help or advice, I'll offer myself for help. Not all the tournaments are run simultaneously, but there will be multiple tournaments at once. I don't think you guys will have to worry too much about players being in multiple tournaments. But if you do, you generally scream their name out and if you don't see them or hear anything about them it's a lost, or you just move on to a different match, depending on how anal you wanna be. Hopefully no one has to take a lost because they ate a bad burrito and had to take a shit. Players please make sure you communicate with the bracket guy about where you will be or what matches you have up next. bracket guy please do your best to keep track of your players and inform them of any upcoming matches. Oh, and Alex, thanks for taking care of Matt that one night.

4r5 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 all you need is two people and you got yourself a tournament/moneymatch
Lol Sadguy Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Hey Press, I challenge you to SSFIV ft5 for $20. Should be easy enough seeing as how I don't play the game
FrostedIHeavens Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 hey all, I'm real interested in making it out to this if it works out with my schedule. i'd be coming down from the rockville area, but if we could get an actual CS scene going on that would be amazing. i've been hoping for somethin like this in our area for awhile! don't have much i could contribute for a setup aside from myself and maybe a PS3 controller. kinda wish I had modded my 360 stick now
bmore303 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Yep Alex I'm here lol. I get off at 5 or 530 that Sat so I'll be there some time after 6 FOR SURE. Not bluffing for once >_> . I'll have a Tao player and possibly a Bang there as well if they don't BS me. I need to practice GG and MB again, I'm horrible now >_< . As for equipment I'll just have my horrid CT 360 Hori stick I need to mod and my custom Mayflash stick for PS3/PS2..that's incompatible with GG:AC...WTF?
zeth07 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 If a BB:CS tournament is going to happen, I should probably tell people to bring $2 so that it is handled just like the other ones. Since I'm not expecting a whole lot of people, I'll just say it will be "Winner Takes All". As for casuals: Not sure how they do things already, but i'd say 2/3 matches and Winner stays til he beats everyone who wants to play at least once, then 2 other people get on. But I guess we'll see how it goes.
Sesshyru Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Pff, No such thing. Xanadu casuals go until the salty finger match has concluded.
