Toronto BB and GG: FIENDS ONLY Part II

Time to revive this shitty thread with my daily life in Japan as a gaijin tourist.

Today (Dec 23) was my first day in Japan, I arrived last night, after having the time of my life in Thailand for 2 weeks. I started my morning with a FREE breakfast buffet, courtesy of my hotel, which coincidentally has alot of other gaijins. After having several bowls of rice + godlike black cod fish for breakfast, I decided to hit up Akihabara. Apparently on Sundays, the whole fucking street is closed down for driving because the pedestrian traffic is sooo high. All the salarymen are off work on Sunday, so they're all spending their time in nerd heaven. This place is a fucking nerd's heaven. I see anime stores, maid cafe shops, shops where you pay to sit down and read manga, the mandatory hentai and idol shops, everything an otaku does, you find it here. Most of the weaboos on this forum would fucking jizz in their pants just walking on this street. :scared: I'm just enjoying the sights while making my way to Club Sega, did I mention already how fucking busy this street was?

Anyways, I arrive at Club Sega. The first thing I do is watch a salarymen trying to win his gf a doll in UFO catcher. Needless to say, he failed miserably (stay free salarymen), I laughed like a jerk and made my way upstairs to the GG/BB floor. But first I stopped by the SF4 floor (this arcade is 2 buildings of 6 floors each ), got owned by a random salarymen. Decided to play a quick game of SF2, because this is the best game ever and the first fighting game I played. I played against some dude who I'm 100% sure was a yakuza goon slacking off on the job. He kept swearing in japanese when he got hit, and when I beat him the first round he said "kurossss", which according to my anime knowledge, means I'm going to kill you :scared:. At this point I wasn't sure if I should keep playing or not, but I figured if I'm going to die by a yakuza goon, it has to be at an arcade. I proceeded to rape him in round 2. At this point, he took off his cigarre, threw it on the floor instead of on the ashtray on the cab, and we began round 3. Round 3 was pretty much free too, so I won, and he yelled out dramatically and shook his head in shame. To my surprise, I was still alive. Nobody else played, so I left my game and went upstairs. :china:

I got to the room with the GG/BB cabs, it was hype. There was like 6 GG+R cabs, and like 10 BBCP cabs, and only 3 P4U cabs, which I found to be VERY surprising, since P4U is such a solid game. Shit, can you believe that, only 3 cabs? Fuck... I felt like talking to the manager to have a mature and non-confrontational discussion on why there's so few cabs for such a solid game, but I felt my time is worth more than that (stay solid P4U). The GG crowd seemed very mature, I guess they were all salarymen in casual clothes since it's a day off. I watched for a bit and every cab had solid players. Here's my thoughts on some of the characters (I've watched no +R videos before my trip, so yeah shit was all new to me lol).

Justice: I don't know how Justice is low tier, in reality she seems tough. There was a dude with a 10+ streak with her. I see good zoning and the fucking missiles have a vacuum effect. So you basically zone with the missiles, even if they block, there's a vacuum effect so they're right next to you and then justice does a high/low mixup (she has an overhead). She also has a srk with a frc point that also has a vacuum effect. What kind of fucking srk has a vacuum effect? Broken tier imo.

Johnny: Another dude streaking with him. Seems mid tier now. Solid character.

Jam: Even though her 6HSHS changed, the combos still seem relatively the same. She seems even more of a threat now because her charged moves are better and also you can get safe multiple charges (FB) after 6HSHS, it seems cancellable right into FB charge. So when you finish your combo and have meter left, you build free multiple charges making her a bigger threat. A tier, still doesn't have anything super broken to get her to S tier.

May: Lost OHK but people were still doing pretty well with her. Scoop too strong. B tier.

Slayer: This character is fundamentally broken tier. Even with all his changes, he still seems really really good. S/A tier imo.

Millia: New combos look soooo cool. The #R j.HS coming back makes her more solid at easier knockdowns for oki. I'd give her A tier, still has a very solid oki game and pressure.

Those were the only characters I saw today. I didn't watch for long and didn't play much because I'd like to finish my sightseeing list first before I relax and do whatever I want. I did get a few games in, first game I played a Johnny and he was very beast, he had a 8 win streak, but nevertheless my OS j.P proved to be too much for him. My first win against a japanese salarymen on day off (shoutouts to jwu, stay free ). Then I got raped by Justice because I had no idea what the fuck this character does and without any matchup experience, I got raped pretty hard (stay godlike japanese salarymen #2). I was getting zoned, and tried to safely close in but the air missile has a fucking vacuum effect that pulled me in and I ate an overhead into combos all day :pissed:. The missiles are also sooo freaking slow, she can throw them out, then run at you PAST the fucking missile for free pressure, wtf??? stay free me. At this point I contemplated going over to watch some BBCP, but logic dictated otherwise and I stayed to watch more GG. I then played the slayer dude and he fucking BODIED me so hard . Keep in mind that I don't know ANY of my characters changes, not the best of ideas lol. I discovered some changes while I was playing, which I didn't like lol. Level 2 fireball wallsticks so the old corner combos are no more. Level 2 Rock It doesn't ground bounce on the second hit so no longer able to combo off that. Gunblaze seems to have slower startup and loss of invul? Not sure. I don't think he really gained any improvements?? I think OS took a step down the tier list , I'll check his list of changes after this post. Needless to say, I beat a solid japanese player without knowing my characters changes, so I was feeling myself pretty hard until that Justice and Slayer raped me.

I really liked the arcade and will be back later after I check off some other things on my tourism list. After club sega, I went to MaiDreamin, also in Akihabara, which is none other than the cutest maid cafe chain. I went there to cheer myself up with the company of a cute japanese maid named Ojiji. I enjoyed my ice cream while conversing with my limited japanese learned from anime. It wasn't working out so we started chatting in english lol, her english was pretty good. It seems like all the sadlife japanese salarymen come here on their day off to chill with maids lmao. I was very reluctant to go here first, my anti-otaku feelings are very strong, but I thought it was pretty cool and relaxing (no happy ending in case you're wondering you creepy fuck). I got a card and if you come here enough times, you keep ranking up until you reach VIP status, and get a silver member card, which has special benefits. I've decided to make it a mission to reach this VIP status, it will be very expensive lol.

I reached a lounge after (gaspanic) just to have a beer and see what the nightlife is like. I didn't really try to do anything, just enjoyed a beer and get a feel of the ambience, then peaced out back to my hotel. But don't worry homies, I will definitely be going back another day to hit it up with some japanese honeys.

Other random shit:

- I need to find out where to buy a face mask so I can troll an entire nation. :8/:

- The subway is godlike, much more organized and intelligent than other cities.

- Needless to say, I didn't play BBCP at all, nor watch the game. Perhaps if I ever feel bored as fuck, I might give it a go. Actually no, I'd just go to a maid cafe to spend my time there.

- I really like the general feel of Tokyo (i'm staying in Minato, close to Roppongi). This place feels high class, has a good vibe, all the restaurants I went to have very friendly staff. When I get back, I'd really like to start learning japanese so I can enjoy this country more on repeat visits. In general, there's alot of little things that I like about japanese people and thier culture/values. I would love to live in this city if given the opportunity.

- While waiting at the pedestrian stop to cross the street, a random salarymen was walking and slipped really HARD. It drew the attention of everybody around, then he quickly got up and RAN the fuck away, I guess he was really embarrassed lol. That's the kinda thing we don't like to see happen... stay free. :lol:

Tomorrow I'm going to Shibuya/Ginza (shopping districts) to upgrade my swag. I'm gonna buy like, a 2000 dollar Gucci shades and shiiiit yeah.

Will post more later if people would like more stories. (I'm here for another 13 days, but will be travelling throughout the country)

I got to the room with the GG/BB cabs, it was hype. There was like 6 GG+R cabs, and like 10 BBCP cabs, and only 3 P4U cabs, which I found to be VERY surprising, since P4U is such a solid game. HOS 5H is throw invuln now on start-up and low invuln 11-22f, 6P staggers on ground hit, Lvl 2 Rock-it gives knockdown no matter what (air hit or ground hit), and Lvl 2 BRP has longer untechable time so you can continue a combo sometimes.

Losing Lvl 2 rock-it combos isn't bad, imo, he barely got any damage off that shit anyway. Sure, it made for an easy confirm, but the damage wasn't that great unless you hit with a good starter.

I think, if anything, HOS is better now.

Cool thanks man. I think you meant lvl2 buster has longer untechable time, it has the wallstick property so you can get a free charge and combo after in the corner, so it's definitely better now. Lvl2 BRP is still hard knockdown. But lvl2 Rock It is absolutely terrible now. It's a hard knock-down for a free charge and oki, but all of that could be done with a lvl2 BRP anyways. In any given situation, lvl2 BRP and lvl2 Rock It are interchangeable so Rock It serves no unique purpose now. With the previous ground bounce, it gave opportunity to do decent midscreen damage, and in the corner to allow HS D loops after an RC, which is a good ~50% damage and practical. I'd take those damage opportunities over a free charge and oki any day, considering that I already have lvl2 BRP to serve the purpose of free charge + oki if that's what I wanted. There's no need to have two separate moves accomplishing the same thing. Definitely a downgrade imo.

Didn't go to the arcades today, but I did go to a cat cafe to play with some cats and desperate japanese girls, LOL. GGGGGGGG

Yesterday I chilled with The Black Eye (Tokyo mahvel crew). I got bodied by Nemo really bad, his dr strange is soo good, fuck that avocado. (But I bodied him in GGAC. +1 for the gaijins. ) They have some pretty good mahvel players. They told me they will show up at Evo because this year Evo happens to land on Japanese holidays, so ALOT of Japanese people will be headed for Evo this year.

There was one guy (Frieda) who plays exactly like John (no shame style), except he fucking triple taps and also presses the buttons so damn hard I got a headache after a while of playing him. stay free me. But it was alot of fun.

They were all really surprised to see Ryu tatsu gimmicks, but they adapted quickly and then I started getting bodied. Nova/Dante are really popular chars here.

The best part was when I first got there, I go to the living room and there's like 3 japanese dudes all passed out on the floor/couch with empty bottles of jack daniels all over the place. These guys drink alot.
