Orrax Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I'll probably stop by tonight as well, although it may not be until later (like 10).
LegendaryRath Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Eric, do me a favor and give me your phone number and address on Facebook. Kevin will probably pick me up soon, so I need to know where we're going to get you.
Zeromus_X Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I sent you my info Ryan. Also GGs everyone yesterday. So nice to see Justin and Chris again; AZ Dustloop Reunion lol. Chris, our FT10 was pretty hype, we have to do it again sometime.
Orrax Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 GGs to everyone yesterday! I haven't played that long of a GG set in a while; I miss it. Ruben - Sorry for playing so much Millia. I've been meaning to learn (relearn) her for a while, and the only way I've ever been able to really commit stuff to memory is to do it a bunch in actual matches. And your Dizzy isn't bad at all -- a little more combo consistency and setup exploitation and I think you're most of the way there. And I think a couple of those things were just because you were rusty.
Chumaralupa Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 GGs everyone. I appreciate you saying that Luke, but it's true I haven't really touched the game and practiced for a couple of years now. Last time I hit training mode in that game was when we were still hanging with Vince. I'm definitely rusty but once +R comes out I'm going to devote training time to it. I've never really gotten to experience firsthand what everyone says about your Sol, but I understand now, but I actually had fun playing instead of just being depressed the whole time like I thought I would be............ EXCEPT for you Wild Throwing me out of my overdrive. I hate Baiken though, always have always will, and I know other people share the sentiment. Also Justin Wang, if I ever play you in a tournament setting in P4A (probably will never happen) but I'm just going to play Shabrys, the range of Labrys's normals are too obnoxious to deal with as Aigis. Also because of how slow your R-action is, even if I safe-jump it, my follow-up attack will get me counter hit anyways because unlike other r-actions that basically put me in block-stun as soon as I hit the ground, your's allows me to throw out my next move before your active frames come out so I basically have to react to the R-action or just block and see what happens after I safe-jump. Good to see Chris and Justin S. again too, thanks for coming by guys, I hope to see you more often once BBCP hits.
Ryd' Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Hey, I like playing Luke's Sol. Granted, I play Testament...
Greyvangelist Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 GGs to you too Luke! It was good finally playing Guilty after a 4-5 month hiatus. I need to sit down and learn some Sol specific combos for Slayer, there were too many times I dropped 5H relaunches because of his annoying hitbox haha.
LegendaryRath Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 GGs to everyone at Haz's today. It was fun hanging out with Kevin and Eric for so long, even if I get weird every now and then. Hopefully I get another chance to play Justin, I kinda blew it today. Really glad I could play so many matches with Marvin. Even though I have more experience in the matchup, I learned a ton of stuff and got to practice certain aspects of it that would be nearly impossible online. And... it looks like I'll never be working Saturdays after noon-1pm. So if anyone wants to do anything, Like going to Portillo's, Just let me know.
dejixal Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Also Justin Wang, if I ever play you in a tournament setting in P4A (probably will never happen) but I'm just going to play Shabrys, the range of Labrys's normals are too obnoxious to deal with as Aigis. Glad to hear it. I enjoy the match-up against Shlabrys a lot more either way haha.
ThienKieuTam Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Yooo good games guys! It was awesome seeing you all again. Hopefully it won't be like this any more. Thanks for the 5 bucks Erik, mwuahahahahaha!!! DP battles with Justin W. too much fap.
Chumaralupa Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Jimmy, that show was GDLK. Anyways, I'm not going to have people over this week because I'm sick and even if it's gone by Friday I doubt it'd be nice if people entered this swamp of germs, same goes for 2 weekends from now because I'll be in Cali. So I guess I hope to see ya'll in 3 weeks.
LegendaryRath Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 It's a blessing that my budget is so small, else this Magic thing could become a serious problem.
Ryuuka Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 $10 budget decks yo. Alternatively you can always just play on Magic Workstation.
Valthazeryus Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Or you could be like me TRYING to actually find a wholesaler who will sell me a case of Modern Masters for a decent price...
Chumaralupa Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 260 retail is something else, although I'm kinda glad they jacked the price like that so the cards used in modern won't lose their value too much.
Lutrano Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 260 retail? i thought it was 160 XP. def not worth buying for me then. It'd be cheaper to buy the few things I still don't have from it. On the subject of budget, pauper edh! I just ordered my second one. Lets do this. each deck cost me ~15 including 10 cents per basic land ($4 total) to get the art i wanted.
Zeromus_X Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 260 retail is just straight up greed honestly. Would've been a fun box to tear through, but I'll probably just buy the singles I want anyway.
Theupstreamer Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Well the format (actually the whole game entirely) is nothing but spending money, so I think everyone that plays magic should be past that or at least expect prices like this.
Zeromus_X Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I think there's a clear difference when distributors are charging $100 over the suggested retail price. I would be perfectly willing to buy a box for $160, but I couldn't break even on $260 even if I pulled a Goyf or something.
Valthazeryus Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 260 retail is just straight up greed honestly. Would've been a fun box to tear through, but I'll probably just buy the singles I want anyway. Wholesalers sells it now to stores for like $200 minimum. The whole set is super short print and only hobby stores can buy them from wholesalers. I only have like 1 or 2 boxes of Modern Masters, for a wholesale price of $130 each, in stock and I need more for my store cause we weren't able to get any.
