Tokens are usually a pretty popular deck and easy to make. You could probably make a cheap White token deck with lots of soldiers and humans. Or add in Green for Selesnya stuff if you have a bit more of a budget. EDIT: Black is good too because of Lingering Souls, and white/black/green tokens is very competitive in Standard right now.

I have several black cards that I could see working very well with a white token deck. The main problem is just that I don't have nearly enough of them yet for it to be worth throwing in.

*sees MTGO talk*

I dunno if they're legal anymore, but have any of you seen a Polymorph token deck?

Rabbit Token -> Darksteel Colossus

GGs Ryan. I think PSN collapsed or something, because I got signed out right after that last match.

I'll probably go to PCP today and test out my Bant ramp deck. As long as I get at least one Craterhoof Behemoth off the top, I'll be satisfied.

Literally less than 10 seconds after you and Bryce insulted my internet connection. To be fair, the same thing happened to me.

GGs and good luck with your Magic tournament. Sometime I'll get good at that game.

So I asked Hong at PCP about Modern Masters drafts, and PCP doesn't plan on doing any Limited events with it. They will however be giving out a box to whoever wins the Thursday Night Modern tournament this week, maybe something you'd consider Ruben.

Oh wow, let's hope I get better luck than I've been having.

For my birthday my brother bought me one of those 36 pack boxes for return to ravnika, which we split. It was fun opening so many packs but I will say that I'm a little disappointed with most of the cards. Got some good stuff mixed in, of course. But I probably will only ever use 20 or so of the cards realistically.

And I think I have a good grip on how my current decks work right now, and they could actually be pretty usable if I got my hands on just a few more copies of certain cards. I never thought I'd get into another card game but oh well. So long as I don't plan to spend much, I don't see a problem with it.

Also, I spent most of the day playing with Bryce, where we just took turns using my various shitty decks. He likes the game wayyyyy more than I thought he would, to the point where he's going to buy cards. Maybe it'll give him something to do if he comes over to Ruben's once in a while. There's a few small things that I need cleared up as well, so I think we'd both benefit from it.

Rough Jimmy, I definitely am not drafting that set.

Polymorph into Progenitus is sweeter.

Just looked that card up, was pretty epic :P

I only saw the Polymorph deck against a dude I fought online once. Thought it was pretty awesome. I was running a Sliver deck though so of course I won anyway.

Good times. I haven't played the game in years. Sliver decks became illegal and I got salty.

You should never trash any cards in Magic.

It's the game where prices ever go up and never down.

If you are just starting to dip your toes into Magic, then buying boosters and playing sealed/draft is good because it can acquaint you with the set and card pool. It's hard to even know what you want if you only know 1 card out of 1000. But generally I prefer playing constructed, ie., making my own deck out of the cards I own at home and using the same deck over and over and tweaking it like an engine. With sealed and draft you open boosters and make a deck out of them on the spot, but once it's over you can't re-use it. You'd have to get new boosters and make a new deck next time.

Once you get well enough acquainted with the cards, you can just order singles online. Instead of paying $5 for a booster, possibly getting nothing you will use (although you might get a random real good rare), it's better to just spend five cents and get the specific card you want outright.

Tbh, 80% of the stuff you open in a box will be junk. But there's always EDH and Pauper EDH to find a place for all of your junk rares and commons.

EDIT: And yeah, Limited da bess

I'm not planning on trashing cards. I just probably wont be using the majority of them for a while.

I've been messing with my two main decks and think they're actually getting pretty decent. It's not like they're what you guys would call good, but I can see it coming together. All I really want now is a few extra copies of certain cards and I think I'll be content with them.

And I probably wont be spending too much money on this. If I do, it'll be only once in a while. Ray, don't worry.

-Thanks for the advice Mac

I'm worrying. As soon as I spent money on cardboard I went into a fetal position wondering where my life was going. Then I swore off buying cards. Then teysa envoy of ghosts came out.
